Chapter 50: Mia's Battle
Chapter 50: Mia's Battle
With full bellies and packed bags, or inventory, the group finally left their campsite.
"Alright, here I go, do try to keep up." Mia said with a cheeky smile.
Both Lily and Thea nodded in response, waiting for Mia to get started. Mia adjusted her clothes, tied her hair and crouched down, slightly raising her hind. At this moment, Thea had been paying a lot of attention to everything Mia had been doing but something really caught her attention.
Her expression.
During the time Thea had been with Mia, Thea had seen a variety of expressions, sadness, shyness, confidence and more. Now however, her face was void of emotions, only her eyes showing her determination and confidence.
It was at this moment that she sprinted away. She was exceptionally fast, faster than anything Thea had seen until now, excluding her mother and herself of course. Thea and Lily wouldn't have a problem following her as compared to their own speed she was slow.
"Fufufu, not everyone is like me and you. For normal people, she is pretty fast. Considering her age and clan, I would guess she is around level 20 so her agility is pretty high in that regard." Lily casually said to Thea, as they followed Mia, leaving a bit of a gap.
"Can you see her level?" Thea asked, surprised at the accuracy of her guess.
"Fufufu, if you have lived as long as me, you start being able to judge certain people pretty accurately, you however, are impossible to read." Lily said with a loving smile.
"Hehe, good to hear." Thea said quietly. Briefly glimpsing at her mother, wondering how long she had truly lived before refocusing on Mia as she found her first opponent.
Thea had activated her map before they left so she knew how Mia was facing against 3 opponents.
Lily and Thea, who were following behind Mia, watched to see how she would handle the situation.
Mia first checked behind her to see if the mother and daughter duo were on her trail, only to be surprised, seeing the two, calm figures, watching her with interest. Although Mia had slowed her speed a little to give the two a chance to keep up, she wasn't expecting the two to have no problem with the speed she had used.
As Mia started thinking about how fast the two truly were, she heard a growl, and turned around to see 2 red wolves a little bit away.
As Lily and Thea watched Mia, they saw her eyeing two of the wolves, Thea knew the location of the third, as she had seen it on her map, but wondered if Mia had sensed it as well.
From experience, Thea knew that the beast-kin body parts had sharper senses, and as Mia had cat ears, Thea pondered if she had heard it already, but as Thea thought about this, she noticed Mia moving.
Mia silently closed in on the two wolves grouped together, while Mia had been moving closer, she had pulled out a dagger from who know where. When she was about 10 meters away, a dark fog started to appear around Mia's body, and as they were in the forest, with large trees, there were plenty of shadows Mia used, getting closer and closer to the wolves.
Although Thea could clearly see Mia, Thea's eyes were capable of seeing certain degrees of mana concentrations, and while the mana shadow Mia had made hid her, it also revealed her to Thea.
Amused, Thea watched Mia get closer and closer, until she was practically next to the wolf, this is when she made her first action, one swift slash to the neck and she repositioned herself to the second wolfs blind spot and slashed out at its heels, immobilizing it.
She then ran around the wolf, from it's back to it's front where Mia slashed again, aiming for its unguarded neck.
Although this may seem like the wolves weren't fighting back, Mia's agility was 3 times higher than theirs, combined with her concealing trick, she made easy work of the wolves.
Thea watched, impressed and as she was about to go out and congratulate her, she saw an unusually large red wolf pounce, from the bush behind Mia, and before Thea could scream out a warning, the wolf had already landed on Mia, her head in its jaws.
Before Thea could even do anything, it bit down and Mia went, *poof*, her body disappeared in a smoke, only to reappear on top of the wolf where she lodged her dagger in its spine, although Mia had stabbed with all her might, it wasn't enough to do the damage she wished to deal, so before the wolf had even comprehend what happened, Mia had repositioned herself and was now standing on the wolfs neck as she stomped down with her foot onto the dagger, digging it deeper until she did the damage she was looking for.
The large red wolf stood there, frozen, a small girl on its neck, and a small dagger piercing it. Mia jumped of the wolf, and sat on the floor next to the wolf, panting, the wolf however wobbled a bit with Mia's movement, before it collapsed and lay there, dead.
