Chapter 5360 Inverse Wind Stone

Chapter 5360 Inverse Wind Stone

Countless blood devils surged from all directions, leaving everyone stunned and unsure where to run.

“Xiao Yue, lead the Hidden Dragon Legion to the left! Wan-er, guard the rear! Everyone, stay in formation! If you fall out, not even a god can save you! Move!” Long Chen shouted as he charged forward like a bolt of lightning.

At this time, terrifying auras appeared, and amidst the endless swarm of blood devils, nine-vein Emperors emerged.

“What about you?!” cried out Tang Wan-er.

“I’ll hold them off for a moment. I’ve got my own way out. Go! Keep trying to break the tablets!” Long Chen commanded.

As Long Chen formed hand seals, giant figures materialized—his Silver Wing Heaven Devil puppets. He quickly realized there were dozens of nine-vein Emperor blood devils behind them. Unable to hold back, he summoned every last puppet he had.

The Silver Wing Heaven Devil puppets radiated such a terrifying aura that it momentarily stalled the blood devils’ charge, opening gaps in their formation.

Xiao Yue was following Long Chen’s order but didn’t know why he would tell her to go left, as there was no path there. Despite that, she still charged into what looked like an impenetrable wall. Yet, just as they reached it, a gap opened, exactly as Long Chen had calculated.

“Long Chen!” shouted Tang Wan-er.

“Go!” Long Chen roared, both shocked and enraged. He hadn’t expected Clay Jar and the others to go beyond sabotaging them—they were aiming to get everyone killed.

It was clear that everything had been pre-arranged. They had lured the blood devils from all sides, leaving the Hidden Dragon Legion with no escape. Somehow, they had also disabled the transportation ability of the tablets.

Long Chen had suspected such treachery early on but dismissed the possibility, thinking these idiots lacked the guts to do such a thing. But they taught Long Chen a lesson, showing him that fools were capable of the craziest things.

Tang Wan-er’s eyes were red. She was worried about Long Chen and her sisters in the Hidden Dragon Legion. Gritting her teeth, she charged out with the Hidden Dragon Legion.

By now, no matter how foolish she was, she could tell that this was a trap set up by the divine sons and divine daughters. Thinking of how she had done everything in her power to avoid them, Tang Wan-er felt like she was about to go insane.

Tang Wan-er’s hatred overflowed. She hated her enemies for their treachery, but she also hated herself for her naivety.

Long Chen had seen this coming, but she hadn’t believed him. Thinking of that, she was so enraged that she had to dash away in tears. Clenching her teeth, she did her best to slaughter the blood devils.

The Silver Wing Heaven Devil puppets managed to intimidate the blood devils briefly, but their power wasn’t enough against the nine-vein Emperors. With every attack, the puppets collapsed. Seeing this, the blood devils knew the Silver Wing Heaven Devils were just puppets, and they resumed their charge.

Seeing this, Long Chen triggered the self-destruction of the Silver Wing Heaven Devil puppets, blowing back countless blood devils. After that, he summoned Lei Linger and Huo Linger, who formed a wall of flames and a sea of lightning. Though powerful, the two elemental spirits were not strong enough to harm the nine-vein Emperors. Luckily, Long Chen’s goal wasn’t to defeat them—just to buy time for the others to escape.

Despite Long Chen’s best efforts to block the strongest enemies, he saw eight-vein Emperors lying in wait for Tang Wan-er’s group. But this was the best he could do; the rest was up to them.

Countless lightning dragons and flame dragons wove together in this space, coiling around the blood devils and slowing them down.

The blood devils were incensed. But since they couldn’t do anything to the lightning and flame dragons, they could only barge through clumsily, which gave Long Chen the precious seconds he needed.

“They’ve broken free and been transported away. But Tang wan-er is still fighting the blood devils and waiting for you,” said the Earth Cauldron.

Hearing this, Long Chen relaxed slightly. He wasn’t in such a rush anymore.

“Senior, help me search for the cause of this disruption,” Long Chen requested. He suspected the enemy had tampered with the surroundings.

“Found it,” said the Earth Cauldron, revealing 360 fist-sized blood-colored stones.

“These are Inverse Wind Stones. They caused the tablets to lose their transportation effect by blocking the Wind Dominion Pearl’s senses,” explained the Earth Cauldron.

Long Chen’s expression darkened. Gathering the Inverse Wind Stones, he recalled Lei Linger and Huo Linger before dashing off to rejoin Tang Wan-er.

“Long Chen!” Tang Wan-er cried out, still battling the blood devils.

Seeing him, she couldn’t help but weep, and Long Chen’s heart sank—he knew what had happened.

“Let’s go!” he urged.

They crushed their transportation tablets, and a vast power enveloped them, instantly whisking them away from the battlefield.

When they reappeared at the Wind God Sea Pavilion’s plaza, the other sixteen groups were already there. The eight assistant pavilion masters, four Divine Wind Elders, and other high-ranking members stood nearby, watching with indifferent expressions, though Long Chen could detect profound shock in their eyes.

Looking at the Hidden Dragon Legion, Long Chen saw their mournful expressions, their clenched teeth, and tears streaming down their faces.

In front of them lay seventeen corpses, and Long Chen also felt pain at the sight. Cultivation was simply this cruel. They had fought alongside seventeen of them just moments ago, but now, they were gone forever.

Seventeen young lives had vanished just like that. They had just grasped the chance to change their fates, and as they felt full of hope, their future disappeared.

“Why?! Why did this happen?!” Tang Wan-er screamed, her heart breaking as she gazed at the familiar faces of the fallen. She let out a heart-rending roar.

With an insincere expression, an assistant pavilion master said, “This accident is unfortunate, but in the cultivation world, the weak are—”

“Shut your mouth!” Tang Wan-er roared, her tears almost turning to blood as her killing intent surged, causing the assistant pavilion master to take a step back. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Realizing he had lost face, the assistant pavilion master was about to reprimand her when another stepped forward.

“That’s enough. She’s upset, and it is understandable. However, we still need to rank the groups. Everyone, hand over your crystal cores for the ranking. The last-place group will be eliminated,” the second pavilion master announced.

At this moment, Tang Wan-er couldn’t care less about rankings, but Long Chen gently rubbed her back and said, “Hand over the crystals. Don’t forget, the real battle starts soon. That’s when we’ll make them pay for this blood debt.”

Long Chen’s icy gaze swept over the divine sons and daughters, as well as the higher-ups. His eyes were cold and filled with deadly intent.
