Chapter 16: Fighting The Dungeon's Boss Monster - Part 1

Bloom looked at her, she was really a stunning looking person. He was sure she must be a celebrity in real life.

"This monster isn't that easy to deal with," he started narrating every single detail about that monster, and the nature of boss monsters in the game. the more he spoke, the more afraid they became.

He knew they would react like that, so he didn't want to share everything from the start, not until he had some grasp of a tactic to deal with that monster.

"Wow, it seems those who designed the game really loved their boss monsters!" Peri remarked, jokingly, trying to reduce the tension in the atmosphere, "I'm sure our Bloom will have a magical solution to deal with it, right?" she added, as she was putting all her hopes on him.

She wasn't alone, as everyone else glances at him, with enough expectations. He didn't lie to them, as he confessed:

"I was this close to grasp a strategy, but that damned assassin interrupted me."

"Take your time then, we aren't in a hurry," Peri said, as no one else spoke after her. There was a tacit agreement between them without saying a word, let Peri handle Bloom, and Bloom enjoyed this unspoken rule so much.

He then started to think again, squeezing his mind, trying to sort out things. After ten minutes, he had already grasped some way to deal with that monster.

"Listen up," he said, as everyone got around him, like he was their boss, not Gored, "the key to defeat this thing lies in two simple approaches, either we kill it before the twenty minutes skill, or we have to withhold until that skill ended, and it entered into a permanent weakness," he said the simple basis of the two known strategies to deal with this kind of monsters.

"I doubt we can cause enough damage to it, just look at that huge shield in its hand! I bet it had some boosting to his defenses, weakening our damage," Peri said, expressing what others were thinking of.

"I know that," Bloom shook his head in regret, "our DPS isn't enough to even wear it to the twenty percent Hp mark. This monster has very thick blood, I bet its Hp is over a thousand," he said, while many exclaimed in shock, "so, the only solution we have is to endure, and last longer than it."

"But, this is impossible! I can't heal all of you at the same time!" Peri said, expressing her own doubts.

"I know," he said, as he took out eight Hp potions from his inventory, "so we are going to use this," he added, while others' eyes shone brightly from surprise, pleasant surprise indeed.

"Do you have all these in your possession?!!" Gored couldn't control himself as he asked with disbelief.

"I only have a small amount, but this situation is unique," he added, before looking to everyone as he said, stressing over his words, "the reward for the first players clearing a dungeon in the entire game is enormous! Regardless of the monstrous amount of Xp given to each player, each player would have a set of ten Hp potions at least. When time comes, you have to just pay me back," he said, showing them he wasn't giving them these potions for free.

"Is this real?" Peri asked, showing her concerns to him. He knew even if this wasn't the case, they wouldn't refuse to use these potions to clear the dungeon, however he was bluffing. The rewards for the first ten dungeon clearances in the entire game was really unique.

He needed these rewards, just like anyone here. He hesitated in using the potions before, as he already had limited amounts of them. However, when he recalled the rewards for the first dungeon clearances, he made up his mind and decided to give it a try!

The reward itself would make him jump two levels at least. Coupled with the Xp of other monsters here at the dungeon, he might as well jump three levels, reaching level five, or even more.

"Take these, and don't use them unless I give you the signal," he stressed again on this, "as for the general strategy, just fight as your usual selves, and try not to get killed before the twenty minutes, or else you will lose your rewards," he added, putting this spicy reward temptation to lure them to give it all their best.

They all took the potions, with stern serious faces, as if they were going to do something big in their lives. Bloom then didn't stand at the back as usual, as this monster didn't follow the same Hp principle of other monsters.

As they all considered him their godleader, they didn't move into the monster's domain before him. Bloom unsheathed his two swords, hoping the rewards coming from clearing this dungeon to include a better sword set for him, then he stepped into that monster's domain.

The moment his feet entered the domain of the monster, it roared. The monster was five meters tall, not that big, but it had bulging muscles, making it look like a square from far. He held a huge, heavy looking shield, and a long bronzed spear in hand.

Bloom was sure that a single hit from this monster and at least half of his Hp would be gone. so, the secret way to deal with this boss was not to get hit by it, or at least not to get hit twice in a row.

The monster didn't wait, as it darted, like a cannon missile, towards Bloom, who welcomed it with a basic skill, followed by a movable, chain skill, managing to hardly evade its deadly spear.
