Chapter 2169 The King's Speech

Although Jin did want to celebrate after getting such an achievement, he had postponed that feeling since he was the King of Ress and there were things that were in order. The Celestials had already been escorted into the Lyro while troops within Lyro had been pulled out.

There was no information as to why the Celestials were staying in Lyro and there were quite a number of troops who wanted the information to feel safe. Some assumed that the King had let go of Lyro, a place where the ex citizens of Lyro and Ress's own mages sacrificed much to keep a portion of the Celestials from hitting the main capital.

They felt that there was no justice or recognition done to appreciate the people who had fought so hard just to keep the walls of Lyro occupied with Ress' flag flying up high.

Despite that, Jin understood the sentiments on the ground not because he had predicted them but because the system was monitoring the chatter and giving him the summary report. It was only then that the System gave the advice of at least telling the citizens of Ress what had actually happened.

After all, the Rifle Mages who were standing guard in the Throne Hall were sworn to secrecy until the matter had been concluded. The higher ups including Jin did not want the people on the ground to panic, or give their own opinions which may influence or jeopardise the 'peace agreement' just like how Krishna had acted.

So, when the soldiers from Lyro had finally settled and the underground networks were given the chance to see the light of day after a week long of intense fighting, Jin had broadcast his message through the magic eye which had become a symbol of unity and communication for the citizens.

"There is no need to hide this fact any longer. We had won and the Celestials had lost." Jin's opening sentence was short and sweet but it gave out the facts needed to keep people's doubts in check. At that point, despite the tired smiles on their faces, the humans cheered and started clapping.

"But of course, there are some concerns by a few of our proud warriors because a ceasefire had been enacted and our soldiers had been commanded to help the Celestials after the ceasefire was made," Jin said and the clapping started to die down. "I will address those concerns right here and now."

As he finished the sentence, he pulled out the contract that the Celestials and him had signed. "This is the peace agreement that I, Jin, the incumbent King of Ress, the Discarded King, had come to a consensus with the Celestials to ensure that by accepting a few conditions, they would be agreeable to stop this senseless fighting."

"It is not because we had lost the fight. It is not because we are weak that we had to bow down to them. No." Jin emphasised this concern with a harder and stronger tone.

"We had outright beaten them with the work we had put in within the past year. There was nothing that we could be prouder of."

"However, we need to also know that the Celestials are not just a group. They are a race as a whole. By declaring war against them meant that we as the Kingdom of Ress would be pitting against the Celestials. Once we poked the hornet's nest, there was no going back."

"But I had managed to isolate these hornets that came and beat them to submission while giving them a carrot for the stick I gave. They accepted that carrot and thus decided to leave us alone once they recovered." The last few words gave them the concerned citizens the needed curiosity.

"Yes, once they recover, they will evict the premises of Lyro and will not bother us again. We can rebuild Lyro, the proud bastion fortress that withstood the attacks of the Celestials and brought ruin to their lives," Jin added, telling the citizens that the occupancy was temporary and reinforcing the fact they will get Lyro back again.

"However, I cannot dismiss the fights that had happened in Ress as well. The fighting is equally intense in New Ress City where we had three battlefields ongoing at the same time that there is no word to describe it other than pure chaos."

"Lyro might have been the pinnacle since the deaths of their Celestials happened in the fortress but it was because New Ress City was stalling the troops that their leaders thought that taking Lyro personally would have been a much easier option." Jin paused for a while before taking a deep breath in. "BUT WE PROVED THEM WRONG!"

Claps ensued considering their doubts had been removed by Jin's speech. They were now relieved to know that they still had Lyro in their hands despite the Celestials occupying them temporarily and Jin ensured that they were on the winning side of the agreement.

Everyone's guarded emotions slowly showed their true colours and people were able to relax a little.

"So, please work with me. They were enemies a few hours ago but now they are a neutral party, perhaps even an ally in the future. The peace agreement that I had made will ensure that the Celestials will come down occasionally as clients."

"And since they are coming to make business and not war. Let's do what Ress do best. Treat them as how we treat customers, how we treat patients. Give them the best hospitality that we could provide.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Even now as they recuperate, we have already given them the best death and injuries they have ever seen, it's time we render healing services that they would never expect from us too," Jin paused for a moment as he raised his hand with a dollar bill.

"So that we can charge them all a hefty amount and earn a quick buck for ourselves." Jin replied and everyone's faces started to shine, especially the merchants. They knew their King was a resourceful person, never did they know he was a business minded person too.
