Overlord: Multiverse

Chapter 1: Prologue *Edited*

Chapter 1: Prologue *Edited*

High atop a cliff in the heart of a majestic mountain range, a lone figure sat in a meditative lotus position, surrounded by an aura of mystique. The cliff rose like an ancient sentinel, overlooking a breathtaking panorama of rolling hills and lush valleys that stretched far and wide, their verdant embrace extending to the distant horizon.

Mythical beasts such as dragons and phoenixes could be seen flying in the distance.

With his long, flowing white hair cascading down his back and his fair skin appearing untouched by the marks of time, Daelius Vortem exuded an ethereal presence.

His eyes were closed, and he was breathing strangely. With each breath, his presence continued to become more ethereal, as if he were transcending the boundaries of existence.

After a few hours, dark clouds began to form above his head and started to thunder. The skies roared with thunder. Yet, the peculiarity lay in the fact that the dark clouds seemed to have a singular targetabove his head, where they gathered in a brooding congregation. The rest of the vast expanse remained untouched.

After a few seconds of rumble, a thunderbolt struck him. Yet, there wasn't a sign of any discomfort on his face.

The thunder kept hitting him for a few minutes before vanishing.

The clouds began to rumble again, and just like last time, a thunderbolt struck him for the second time. But, this time, the thunderbolt was twice the size of the previous one.

But, unlike last time, he opened his eyes as soon as the thunderbolt struck him. As with glass, cracks formed across his skin; through these fractures, a pulsating white light radiated, casting an otherworldly glow around him.

But., his face still showed no sign of discomfort. He gazed towards the clouds with his piercing red eyes. His gaze contained resentment and intense anger toward the clouds. Cracks were still spreading throughout his skin.

'After cultivating for eons, I still failed to break through to the last realm.'

Daelius Vortem was a very powerful cultivator and was known throughout many different dimensions. He was one of the few cultivators who achieved the highest realm of cultivation, the "Existence realm",.

But, unlike those cultivators, Daelius continued his journey of cultivation; he always felt that there was another realm beyond the "Existence realm",. It took him many years to find a way to transcend past it, but still.

'I failed. No! I must live; I must rise again. This is not the end!. Think! Think!; there must be a way out of this situation.'

The clouds kept rumbling, and the cracks kept spreading across his body. The rumble was so powerful that it drew the attention of every living thing for thousands of kilometers around him. But they knew better than to approach him.

The place where Daelius was cultivating was known as the Realm of Hadara. It was a realm created by Daelius. To transcend to the 'Existence realm,' one needs to form their own plane of existence.

A plane of existence has its own rules.

'I must separate a fragment of my soul and send it away from this realm. Otherwise, I won't be able to rise again. I have no choice but to take this risk; I have nothing to lose anyway.'

This decision was made in a matter of milliseconds. Being one of the few cultivators who attained the "Existence realm," going through millions of possibilities in seconds was not hard for him.

He closed his eyes and started to mutter some strange chants. White smoke began to pour out his orifices and cracks, accumulating in front of him. It stopped after a few seconds, and he opened his eyes and gazed at the white-colored wisp floating in front of him.

'This is all I can do right now. I have transferred all my knowledge and attached a system to this fragment. This is my best bet right now.'

A tiny black hole opened near the wisp and swallowed it. After devouring it, the black hole closed. As it vanished, the clouds began to rumble once again, ready to hit Daelius. He closed his eyes, expecting the lightning to strike him. He didn't have to wait long before the third lightning struck and blew him up in a massive explosion.

The explosion was so powerful that it destroyed thousands of kilometers of land, reducing everything to cinders.

~Scene Change~

A young man was lying on a bed in a modern apartment. The man looked frail and unhealthy. He had fair, feeble, yet attractive features and short, black hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt and shorts. His eyes were closed.

He abruptly opened his eyes, jumped out of bed, and looked around the room. He took a moment to glance around before sitting on the bed. He had a smile on his face.

'I transmigrated successfully!. I should now determine whether System made it or not.'

"System"

[Yes, Master.]

He heard an androgynous voice in his head.

He was beaming when he heard the voice.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

~First Person~

After calming down a bit, I started to look around the room. The room was simple, with a single bed, a small table beside it, and a small cupboard.

It seems I am in a modern era. I decided to survey the house.

The house turned out to be an apartment. t was equipped with a kitchen, a bathroom, a bedroom, a room with a VR Pod, and a small living room with a single couch. A yellow hazmat suit was near the door to the outside.

"I guess the outside is poisoned. That would explain the presence of the hazmat suit. I'll check the outside later."

But first, I need to check the memories of this body. Due to the circumstances, I wasn't able to set a destination for my soul fragment.

I returned to the bedroom, sat in a lotus position on the bed, closed my eyes, and began going through the memories of this body.

After about half an hour, I was done with the memories.

"It turns out I transmigrated into the body of Suzuki Satoru, the main character of Overlord. It has been many years since I heard that name."

Daelius had lived for a very long time before he embarked on the path of cultivation; he was a typical teenager who enjoyed watching Anime and reading Manga and LightNovels.

This means; there is a chance I get teleported to the new world. Nevertheless, even if that doesn't happen, I have a well-thought-out plan to begin my cultivation journey right here on Earth.

Having lived for an extended period, he knew many techniques to start his cultivation journey, even on lifeless planets devoid of supernatural energies, such as Mana or Qi.

"System, show me my status."

A blue panel became visible in front of his eyes.

...

~Status~

[Name: Suzuki Satoru]

[Race: Human]

[Bloodline: Human]

[Rank: Mortal (Tier 10)]

[Strength: 8]

[Stamina: 6]

[Vitality: 7]

[Energy(s): 0]

[State: Hungry and malnourished]

[Current Planet: Earth(Year: 2126)]

[Note: A normal Human has 10 points in all attributes other than Energy.]

...

It appears that I am now beneath even an ordinary mortal. How the mighty have fallen. In my prime, I had the power to shatter realities with a mere snap of my fingers. Yet, here I stand, diminished to a level even lower than a simple mortal.

~Sigh~

"Whatever; I Should start working on my plans for the future. According to the memories, Yggdrasil will be releasing in 5 days."

Yggdrasil will be the most famous DMMO-RPG of the current era. In its last hours, a guild named Ainz Ooal Gown was transferred to a new world.

I rose from the bed and made my way to the room with the so-called VR Pod. Well, calling it a Pod was a bit of an overestimation; it was merely a seat with a VR headset, a headrest, and armrests.

"I need to buy a good quality VR Pod and a better apartment."

After exiting the room, I gazed toward the kitchen. I was hungry.

While looking for something to eat, I ordered the System.

"System, hack the banks and send money to my account."

[Done, Master.]

In a few seconds, my phone started to vibrate. Opening it, I saw some notifications about money transfers to my account.

[You have received 10,000,000$ from account number xxx-xxx-xxx-x]

Now that money-related problems are taken care of, I continued my food search, but all I found were noddles.

~Sigh~

"These don't look appetizing."

I was hungry and didn't want to go outside to eat. So, I prepared the noodles and ate them. After eating them, I used my phone to look for a better apartment.

It took me a while, but I was able to find a decent apartment.

~Scene Change~

As I lay on the bed, basking in the comfort of my new apartment. I've been in this world for two days already, and I've already quit my previous job and purchased a new VR Pod.

"All I need to do now is to wait for the release of Yggdrasil."

I got up from the bed and moved to a room that contained gym supplies.

"System, make an exercise plan for my body."

[Working on making an exercise plan for the master.]

I'm not going to go out much for the next 12 years. I should exercise daily to keep my body healthy so that I don't die before the teleportation to the new world.

[Done, information about the exercise plan is being transferred to the mater's mind.]

The next few days passed in a blur until the day I had been anticipating arrived.

After having dinner, I turned on the VR Pod and entered it. I saw many options on the screen of the headset. I pressed the Yggdrasil logo. My vision went black, and I found myself in a void with the logo of Yggdrasil shining above my head.
