Chapter 38 Reinforce Her Luck

The lady before him was blessed by the power of Coincidental Luck, but unlike him, she wasn't able to harness this power of her own volition. It only aided her passively.

'But still, the power of Coincidental Luck is by far the strongest in her among everyone I've witnessed.' He thought.

Every living being had a level of innate luck from the moment they were born. And depending on their luck, their life panned out.

As the lady had been blessed by Coincidental Luck, she avoided being found out by the Fornol Empire until now, being the best spy of the Lerni Empire.

Of course, Luck wasn't omnipotent. After becoming Blight Humans, their luck values became strengthened, allowing them to interfere with her Coincidental Luck, increasing the chances of her being discovered, which happened in the end.

'If I were to help strengthen her, I'll be able to harness her Coincidental Luck instead of using my own. That way, I wouldn't have to worry about alerting the Grade 2 Systems of my world's location.' He nodded before worrying about it. For there existed a major drawback to this too.

It was Yulna.

Originally, Yulna was a member of PADS, but the corruption had destroyed her mind and possessed her body, gaining access to all her knowledge and power.

If the same were to happen to the lady before her, the enemies might gain access to wielding the power of Coincidental Luck. He didn't wish for that to happen, for that would only strengthen the revival of the Grade 2 Luck System, his fated enemy.

He thought for a good few minutes, considering various possibilities as he concluded, 'No, even if she becomes an enemy, it would only hasten the Luck System's revival. Since it's bound to revive anyway, I should prioritise dealing with Yulna. Otherwise, secrets regarding our plans would be divulged to our enemy.'

Following that, he decided to help the lady before him, gazing at her as he asked, "Your name?"

"Xuna," The lady replied, calming down somewhat by now upon seeing that the entity before her didn't have any plans of killing her.

Moreover, she glanced at the tree behind him, noticing that it shared some similarities to the Tower of Corruption she had seen at the bottom of the Fornol Empire palace's basement. But, the one before her was even grander.

"Xuna…" Rhizen muttered as his Celestial Armour vanished, revealing his human form as he noticed the look of surprise in her eyes, asking as he extended his hand, "Do you want power?"

"Similar to the Blight Humans?" She tilted her head in response, recalling the terrifying vines that had chased after her for dozens of kilometres, asking, "Will a become a Blight Human too?"

"It'll be different, but it's a power that counters the Blight Humans," Rhizen said, pointing at the location where the Blight Human chasing after her had stood before being vaporised.

Her eyes lit up as Xuna expressed her willingness, prostrating to the ground, "Yes! Only then can I protect my home from the invasion of the Blight Humans and the Fornol Empire that controls them."

"The one that created the Blight Humans is my foe. So, I'll help your Empire in response." Rhizen nodded, snapping his finger as the Pearl Buck condensed a good fraction of the Nacre that it had accumulated, bearing a fruit.

Rhizen didn't stop at that though, wishing to turn Xuna into a champion strong enough to put a stop to Yulna's plans.

And for that, he planned to rile up her Coincidental Luck, gazing at the face of a deer-like figure whose horns were dancing like the sea waves, trailing past like a river stream.

Xuna's Coincidental Luck was a miniature version of his own, but wasn't active, expressing the difference that he was able to harness this power while she was only assisted by it passively.

Slowly, the river of Coincidental Luck on him connected with hers, transferring the luck to her as her rivers became larger gradually.

Rhizen didn't use his own Coincidental Luck to do this but instead, harnessed the luck in nature and gradually converted it into Xuna's, thereby strengthening her luck.

This was only possible because the power she had was Coincidental Luck, the power he was most well-versed with wielding. It was not to mention that Coincidental Luck was the strongest form of luck, a power that dominated over lucky coincidences.

"What…is happening?" Xuna was confused when she noticed that Rhizen stared at her in silence, not moving an inch. But even though it seemed like nothing was happening, Xuna felt that something within her was changing, causing her to feel like she was able to grasp something mystical but had yet to do so.

It was a strange feeling brought about by her innate luck being strengthened to terrifying levels.

A feather then flew in the air, gently carrying a fruit that fell from the tree, bringing it over to Xuna as Rhizen said, "Here, eat this."

"Is this the…Beast Fruit?" Xuna gazed at the lemon, hearing the term uttered by one of the princes that she spied upon.

"Beast Fruit?" Rhizen tilted his head before sighing, "That damned Yulna."

He nodded, "You might as well call it as such. Though, it's more accurate to call it the Fruit of Purification."

"The Fruit of…Purification…" Xuna muttered as she held the lemon, feeling that it was no different to the lemons she had seen until now, hesitantly placing it in her mouth as she braced herself for the citrus to kick in, surprised when all she felt was a warm feeling.

Immediately after, a dense stream of information surged in her mind as a horn began to grow on her forehead, causing her to grunt in pain at the sheer volume of data she had to process.

It took her a few minutes before she was able to gather her bearings, panting as she looked at Rhizen in a new light.

Rhizen wasn't looking at her though, but instead observed the changes to her luck values, watching it transform into what seemed to be an amoeba in shape, sporting four tendrils that grew heads each, full of jagged teeth, appearing vicious.

Mutated Beast—Klock!

Rhizen's eyes lit up in surprise at the ability Xuna had inherited, for it was something he had seen just once, wielded by Chenger—his wife—in one of the loops. It was a versatile ability that was useful in most situations.

The Mutated Beast Klock was one of the smallest mutated beasts, spanning a total size of a metre, the majority of which consisted of four large necks. Its tiny heads were terrifying, able to unleash an ability each.

Chenger came across the Klock when she had been trapped in the icecap of a mountain, one of the tallest in their home world. There was just one of its kind, remaining inactive while trapped within a sheet of ice.

She somehow managed to steal its power using that chance.

And now, Xuna had obtained the same as Rhizen thought, 'First was Felix that obtained my Homing Feathers and second is Xuna that obtained Chenger's power.'

'Coincidental Luck, huh.' He nodded, understanding that it was his power at play here. Something beneficial happening was coincidental only if it happened once. If it happened more than once, it was deliberate.

And that was what his power did, bringing forth benefits for him coincidentally.

Xuna's eyes widened in shock as only now was she able to observe the dense stream of Nacre surrounding her, flowing into her horn to reinforce her.

With a flick of her finger, she summoned a barrel, noticing a ring attached to it, pointing at four states.

With a thought, the ring pointed at the first state, elongating the barrel as a trigger appeared on the other end. A bullet condensed within it, containing a dense stream of Nacre.

It was a sniper rifle as Xuna aimed with it, thinking of something as the ring now pointed to the second state, causing the barrel to shrink in length, becoming something she could hold easily and shoot multiple targets. It was now an assault rifle.

Following it, the barrel expanded in diameter as it became heavy, becoming a canon that would blast an area into smithereens.

The final form reverted it back to the original barrel. And in this state, it unleashed a thrust from one side, acting as a rocket that Xuna could hold and fly away.

Once she reached Stage 5, she'll be able to use the multiple states simultaneously, which is when the true power of her ability would be unleashed.

"Let's go," Rhizen said, condensing a pair of wings on his back as he took off to the sky, grabbing hold of her using a bunch of feathers that carried her alongside, "We'll go to the Lerni Empire."

But first, he changed course, hearing Xuna point in the appropriate direction as they flew towards the capital of the Fornol Empire, sneaking into the palace basement.

Of course, the Tower of Corruption wasn't there as Yulna had already fled from the place.

Though, fearing that she might target his Pearl Buck using this chance, Rhizen didn't stay behind for long, making a beeline towards the Lerni Empire. Before fighting Yulna, he had to ensure that his Pearl Buck was safe.

For the moment it was removed, Yulna would be able to access the Astral Network and leave this world. That would prove disastrous.

So, he had to first raise enough Horned Humans to protect it while he chased after Yulna. That was the only feasible outcome.

Sighing, Rhizen could only fly towards the Lerni Empire as quickly as possible, soon reaching their capital as he directly sauntered into the royal palace, breaking through the ceiling to land in the throne room, startling everyone present there.

"W-Who are you?" The Emperor asked in shock, staring at the sprawling wings on Rhizen's back before his gaze shifted onto Xuna, gasping at the horn growing on her forehead.

"I'm Xuna." Xuna said, kneeling on the floor as she announced, "I've finished compiling information regarding the latest incident happening in the Fornol Empire. Moreover…"

She pointed at Rhizen, "I've brought with me the hope that would save our Empire."
