Primitive Man

Chapter 211: Brother out of control

Unami and Kara grappled with the transformed Baktou, who seemed more like a feral beast than the brother they once knew. His movements were erratic, fueled by pure rage, as if the very essence of his being had been consumed by something dark and malevolent.

In this case, this dark and malevolent thing was none other than the genetic modifications, Baktou went through after injecting something absurd into his bloodline, and for some reason, he started to lose his own control.

Unami's eyes, usually filled with pride and admiration for her brother, now reflected deep disappointment and sorrow. She couldn't believe the drastic change in Baktou, the once-resolute defender now a relentless force of destruction.

Her memories went back to the same man who used to play with her, learn with her and support her love. Even though she had her own rage bottled up inside her, looking at Baktou's face she felt her eyes starting to twitch with water.

"Snap out of it, Baktou! This isn't you!" Unami shouted, her attempts to reason with him met with futile resistance. Baktou's only response was a guttural growl as he continued to resist their efforts to restrain him.

While Unami was dealing with Baktou, Kara, known for her precision and agility, utilized her dagger with finesse. She threw it with deadly accuracy, aiming for Kalina, who attempted to join the chaotic fray. The dagger pierced Kalina's shoulder, causing her to cry out in pain and stumble backwards. Blood seeped from the wound, staining her once-imposing demeanour.

As Kalina tried to escape, Kara pursued her with relentless determination. Kalina, fueled by desperation and rage, glanced back with a twisted grin.

"You think this changes anything, bitch? Your feeble attempts won't save you. I'll be the one rewriting history! Once I get my hands on that meteor all of you are dead. I will make sure none of you're born into this world." Kalina hissed through gritted teeth, but her bravado couldn't conceal the fear lurking in her eyes.

While Unami and Kara grappled with Baktou and Kalina, Telvi found a relatively sheltered spot to assess Garnt's injuries. His breathing was laboured, and the burns on his body told a tale of the merciless battle they had endured.

[Garnt! *Sobs *Garnt, wake up. Open your eyes, please]

In the midst of all this, there was a voice that nobody was able to hear inside Garnt's mind, and Eva felt like her heart was about to break into pieces. She felt the pain same way when she got to know that her daughter died in the original timeline, and it only brought more sad memories to her.

[Should I have encouraged him to stay inside the village? Why did I even lead him here? I shouldn't have-]

She was suffering in her sorrows until she remembered Gundo, who could help in this situation. Quickly interacting with the holographic tool that Gundo possessed, she realized that Gundo was already travelling toward the battle where people were dying. She hurriedly led herself to the place where Garnt lay unconscious. discover-stories-on-MVLeMpYr

Just by looking at his body being held by Telvi, Gundo felt like her legs were about to give up but she knew it was her duty to treat Garnt.

Telvi cradled Garnt's unconscious form, desperation etched on her face. Gundo, a scared but knowledgable doctor, knelt beside her. In the distance, the clash of steel and the echoes of desperate cries filled the air.

Gundo's concerned face looked at Telvi hoping to get some answers to her questions. "Telvi, what happened? It looks like Garnt's condition is critical!"

Telvi, her eyes filled with tears, explained, "He took a severe beating, Gundo. I don't know how much longer he can hold on. Baktou is fighting with Unami and Kara. Things are complicated."

As she spoke, Rona, a skilled warrior with a no-nonsense attitude, approached the scene. She scanned the area with a quick, sharp gaze before fixing her attention on Telvi and Garnt. "What's going on here?" she demanded.

When her eyes fixed on Garnt, she had the same reaction as any woman, but she knew she had the duty to remain strong for her people. There were enough women crying for him, so she knew staying strong was the best option for her, even though she wanted to kneel in front of him and cry.

Telvi, voice quivering, replied, "Garnt's hurt badly. We need to do something, and fast."

Rona nodded grimly, unsheathing her sword. "Gundo, help Telvi stabilize Garnt. I'll assist Kara and Unami in the fight. We can't afford to lose ground now. I'll make sure no one is able to reach here and quite possibly.. kill Baktou and that purple haired woman!"

Telvi's eyes twitched at the mention of killing Baktou, but she was; n't event thinking straight anymore, so she just ignored her words and decided to help Gundo to heal Garnt.

Gundo's motherly looks combined with her role as a doctor made a sense of urgency as she replied, "Understood, Rona. Telvi, I need your assistance with the medical procedures."

Telvi wiped away her tears and nodded, determined to do whatever it took to save Garnt. Rona sprinted away, her agile form blending into the chaos of battle.

While Gundo initiated a life-saving check up on Garnt, Rona wanted to join the fray alongside Kara and Unami so she kept running along the battlefield while dealing with the people that were harmed by leading the remaining healers to carry them to a safe place, and when she realized it was time for her to confront Baktou, she quickly decided to go in the direction where the battle was still happening.

On the other hand, Gundo worked tirelessly to stabilize Garnt, Telvi took a deep breath and focused on tending to Garnt's wounds. The air was thick with tension, and Eva, watching from the shadows, couldn't help but feel a mix of anxiety and hope.

[Gundo, give him artificial CPR. You can use mouth to mouth and do that, and then make sure to compress his chest.]

Nodding her head, Gundo quickly put her lips on Garnt's bloody and burnt face and quickly started to blow and then quickly used her hands to tighten Garnt's chest, but unfortunately, no reaction came from him.

After what felt like an eternity, Gundo finally announced with a pale face. "Nooo! Nooo! This is impossible! Nooooooo!"

Telvi worried and quickly asked about what happened, and when she finally heard what happened, she was only able to see Gundo looking like she had become a living corpse but she managed to squeeze out her final words. "Garnt is dead! He is not breathing,"

Rona sprinted through the chaotic battlefield, her sword gleaming in with the blood of people. As she approached the expected scene of the clash between Baktou, Unami, and Kara, she anticipated the intensity of the ongoing battle. However, what unfolded before her eyes left her stunned and bewildered.

"Who is this?" She questioned herself seeing something completely different.

Baktou, the formidable man who was even able to challenge Garnt, lay on the ground, surrounded by a group of people armed with metal pipes. Unami and Kara were unconscious beside him, defeated. Rona's eyes widened in disbelief as she took in the unexpected turn of events.

A mysterious figure, wearing a surgical mask that concealed her identity, stood tall amidst the chaos. She was a woman with black hair, but the way she and the other people beside her dressed reminded her of the clothes that Garnt kept making for them and she couldn't help but think of the possibility of another group invading them.

"Don't tell me- another group of people are invading us now? Is that woman the leader of this strange group?"

The air was heavy with tension as the people surrounding Baktou aimed their weapons at him, but they didn't stop their instead they chained Baktou and then Rona's eyes laid on the black hole-like thing that appeared out of nowhere, which looked like a strange phenomenon.

Many big vehicles, and many more people started to come out of this black hole and it really felt like she was witnessing a great invasion and this made her uneasy.

"I can't fight all these people, I at least need to take Unami and Kara and escape," Rona thought about the most intelligent thing she could do, and she looked around only to see a purple haired woman, who was supposed to die by her hand lying on the floor.

Kalina, who was supposed to be a powerful enemy, lay lifeless on the ground with blood seeping from her wounds and it was rather evident that she was dead because how her guts were leaking from her body.

Rona's mind raced to comprehend the situation. The dynamics of the battle had shifted dramatically, and the woman in the mask seemed to hold the key to this sudden turn of events, and just when she thought everything was over Rona heard the voice of the woman giving orders to her men.

"Find the body of the blond haired man and soon after this, we will start our Project Zenith to recover the power of the meteor. Everyone quickly gets to work!"
