Chapter 37 37:Finding A Backing
Chapter 37 37:Finding A Backing
In Huayuan Sect...
An old man caressed his beard looking down at the unconscious figure.
"Elder Qin, you did the right thing by bringing him here. Such great talent would have been wasted outside. His bone mass and qi density are exceptional. Without any support, he had grown to this stage alone."
"Hahaha! Sect Master, you are flattering me. As I said before, my eyes never betrayed."
Chu Tian, the Sect Master of Huayaun Sect, was pleased by Elder Qin's words.
As the two conversed, Lin Fang suddenly opened his eyes, and remembering the scenarios of getting beaten by a single attack, he jumped up from the bed with an angry roar.
"It's not over. I didn't lo...Cough...."
Lin Fang coughed, choking on his own words.
"Boy, you need to calm down. You are too hot-headed."
"Huh!"Lin Fang glanced at the two old men's smug smiles and asked.
"Who are you and Where am I?"
Elder Qin took a moment to explain things.
"Thanks! Thanks for saving my life. I swear that I will repay you. I will go against the sky and brace through the fire if you ask me to."
Elder Qin and Sect Master Chu were pleased by Lin Fang's words and patted his shoulder.
"Kid, what's your name?"
"Lin Fang!"
The moment they heard this, their expression froze for a moment startling Lin Fang.
"Are you from that Lin Family?"
"Yes!"
"Oh my God!"Sect Master Chu's expression became softer and his eyes became tearful.
"Lin Fang, I don't know if you remember me. I had a very close relationship with your grandfather Lin Xuan. During your childhood days, you often played in my lap and even pulled my beard alas..."
Grief etched over Sect Master Chu's face and his emotion surged.
"Just when he needed it the most, I wasn't able to help him. That year our Sect had to send help up into the Dimension for support but when I returned, they had already ravaged your family. If only I knew that you were alive, I would have spared no effort to groom you.'
Elder Qin also sighed with sorrow.
"Sect Master, do you know who are the people responsible for my family's death?"Lin Fang asked uneasily. His heartbeat fastened up and he clenched his fist in anger.
"It was the Greymore, Elior, and Wang family. And Greymore is the one who took the lead."
"Gr...Greymore.."The moment he heard this, his eyes became bloodshot.
Seph…Greymore…
"This debt of blood will be repaid by blood. I will wash this debt with every one blood of yours."
"Lin Fang, don't get ahead of yourself. You are still alone. You don't even know how deep the water is."Elder Qin reprimanded.
"Elysium is grasped by 7 families. Greymore, Befort, Elior, Smith, Wang, Su, Ling. However, there is still the royal Tang family whose strength is still yet unknown to us and the whole world. Aside from them, many intermediate families share the rest of the pie with us. These top 7 families also hold seats in the World Federation that handle administration related to the outer world,"Sect Master Chu explained, trying to make Lin Fang understand just what he was dealing with before he took any drastic measures and got himself killed.
"What differentiates the position?"Lin Fang asked, ignoring the subtle warning.
"The presence of Martial Emperor. A family which had a Martial Emperor stood above the rest. I am a Half Martial Emperor, myself. As for Martial Saint, once you reach that level you have to go and guard the cracks from outside forces in the void. So, until you are Martial Emperor, avoid getting into trouble."
Lin Fang nodded, however, skipping everything he just noted one point. He didn't even bother to ask the reason for the extermination. All he had in his mind was revenge and another thing was.....
That is to become the strongest.
'Let alone Martial Emperor, I would become a Martial Saint, no I will go beyond that and then trample you all. Father and Mother, just wait a while. Your son will have his revenge.'
......
Three days later in Chalice's Flame City...
A coastal city to the south of Elysium, the city was a metropolis with many high-rise buildings.
Chalice is one of the biggest states of Elysium and is situated on the coast, it has one of the strongest maritime forces among the other states.
Each state is governed by a Governor elected by the people, supported by groups of families. The process is similar in the case of the national election of the entire Elysium which is governed by the Prime Minister who coordinates with the Imperial Family that had managed to persist till now which seemed to be derived from the Tang dynasty.
Sophia gave a brief information about the presence of Royal and their structure which Leon was unaware of before.
She was also suggested to start his work from here as this seemingly lively city was nothing but a veil to the deep-rooted darkness.
A perfect place to start without people keeping tabs on you and having access to forces that spread all around the world, unlike Aetheria Prime which was under firm control of Families.
...
At one of the Zephyr's branches in Flame City, Corry, the man in charge smoking a cigar, looked at the man. Corry was built like a mountain and with his Martial Master aura, exhaled pressure on Leon.
Leon wore a black jacket and his face looked haggard with wrinkled grayish hair and a mustache. This was the disguise he prepared for his new identity with slight makeup.
He saved the disguise technique to change the face for later. Moreover, his body had undergone an insane transformation.
His height increased to 6 feet 5 and his charm value went up by 1. His current real appearance was quite different compared to the previous one. If one didn't know him personally it would be difficult to pick him.
And since there was no technique involved, one can't look at his real self even with eye techniques. His makeover was personally done by Sophia who also furnished him with knowledge of important organizations.
'It's good to have a caring woman. I should develop my relationship with her.'
Corry took the list and looked over it."The total cost of the materials will be $400,000.Since you have the golden card, you will get a discount and it will cost $360,000."
''Also, I want an entry pass for Silent Serpent of Blood Net.''
"$30,000 and you have to prove your worth while showcasing your realm."Corry's eyes narrowed.
"I can't allow access to someone weak and leave a bad impression."
The Blood Net was the hub of all intelligence related to the underworld. It's a neutral fraction that strictly follows an adhering principle of not being involved in conflicts.
However, it forms partnerships with other organizations by providing resources, data, and even killers.
They do everything whether it is hiring bodyguards for safety purposes or assassins to kill. From smuggling firearms, drugs, and package transfers to safeguard the routes.
The money speaks here.
Silent Serpent is an organization that hires assassins under Blood Net. Using the entry pass, Leon could become one of the contracted assassins under the organization and enjoy many kinds of services.
Though it sounds like a lousy name, the Silent Serpent is like a union of assassins that isn't only limited to Elysium; rather, it is a worldwide organization.
The assassins were fairly independent and could choose the mission on their own record. If someone looks for them specifically, he can reject them if the mission is out of his level.
Zephyr is an internationally acclaimed Weapon Armament Group that deals both legally and illegally.
To become a person of Silent Serpent, you have to go through a headache but you can skip the process if you can pay and take a pass from the organization dealing with them.
Corry took him to a punching machine that was used to test strength.
"We don't see cultivation, what we see is power and results."
Leon looked at the machine and then at Corry who was busy liting a cigarette and didn't seem to be interested in watching him. Due to concealment, he might have already considered Leon a low-level cultivator.
"What if I break it, do I have to pay?"
"Good joke kid, ca y….."
BOOM!
His words got struck on his lips as he heard a loud blast. His mouth opened wide and the cigarette fell.
Smoke obscured his vision and when it dissipated…
There wasn't any machine. All that lay were pieces of scrap metals.
Seeing his bewilderment, Leon grinned in amusement.
"Don't give me that crappy look. I ain't paying for this shit."
