Chapter 11 Toburo Village, Exploring
Lucas' body felt like it was floating every time Toburo moved. It was crazy how his back felt like a stirrup for a horse, he wanted to straighten up a little so that his body didn't hinder the movements.
Lucas was sort of floating above him while this unique and powerful animal roared away.
"How does it feel to ride him?" Kali asked him.
'Riding? That just sounds wrong.' Thought Lucas.
"It's okay, but please don't say the word, it sounds weird." He replied to her question.
Finally they were out of the old room and he was kind of excited to see what this place was all about.
But something he hadn't expected was to see the creatures that lived in this village. The more Lucas and Kali walked around, the stranger it got.
At first it looked like a normal little village market, but the closer they got to the people, the more faceless they looked. Some people were missing their noses, others their eyes, but there were no shackles to hide it.
They simply didn't have them. It was also strange that half the people had dark red hair, as if they'd all been programmed to look like that.
"Kali, do you see the same thing I do?" Lucas turned to her.
Now the being he rode looked more compassionate and friendly than the villagers in this place.
"I know what you're asking, but no, I don't know why they all look like that?" Kali lowered her head, her tone soft. She tried not to speak loudly so that she couldn't be heard
An uncomfortable silence filled the atmoshphere, but just stood walked around with no talking. Lucas was in deep shock when he saw these people with missing face parts. They all seemed to move the same and into the same direction, it was weird him.
"Kali, do you know how long I slept?" Lucas was trying to change this subject.
Lucas finally decided to ask her a sensible question. He'd slept for more than a week, while Kali had only woken up after a day. She'd time to get to know the villagers and meet some unique and amazing creatures.
"For more than a week." Kali sighed.
Maybe this wasn't the right time to tell him he'd been unconscious for so long, but he asked her himself.
"More than a week?!" Lucas raised his tone.
He opened his mouth and his body froze again for a moment. Lucas suppressed a shiver as he slowly tried to move his frozen hands and put them back on Torburo's neck to help him not fall.
His hands were cold and sweaty and his legs wobbled in the air, good thing he was on this thing so no one could notice
Lucas' stomach clenched, his throat felt a little dry and he coughed.
"Lucas, keep it down, please." Kali asked him politely.
Of course she didn't want to cause a commotion outside, since they were both just new people there.
A brief thought crossed Lucas' mind: "What 's the name of this village?
"Kali, do you know what this place is called?" He rephrased his question, thinking that Kali might know the answer to his question.
"I didn't ask her about the whole place, but I know it's called Toburo Village." She answered him as she scanned the place.
They were approaching the food tills, at least that's what it looked like to Luca's eyes, it looked like a food till. It reminded him of some Asian food markets back home.
'Why is it called Toburo?' he asked himself, holding on a little tighter.
It was strange to be on one. Its movements were elegant and you felt like you were flying, it was a pleasant feeling. Lucas didn't feel any pain while sitting on it either, he felt strange.
Lucas felt hunger in his stomach, it began to make a strange noise.
*grrrll* *grrll
He put his hand on it, thinking it might help him avoid the embarrassing noise.
"Are you hungry?" Kali asked him.
He was indeed hungry and this feeling came over him out of the blue, but he didn't want to expose himself in front of her, she was a girl.
"No, I'm fine." He replied and looked towards the shop where some strange looking apples were being sold.

'Oh, here we go again with this bitc*' A feeling of annoyance ran through Luca's veins, the system was the last thing he wanted to hear right now.
[Avatar #303 needs to eat to regain his strength]
'No, I didn't know that, seriously, this system is so annoying.' He continued to think silently and lowered his head.
"The system actually appears out of nowhere." Kali smiled. "Lucas, look!" She pointed at the small hill with her finger, which was already slowly turning into a claw.
The hill was covered in purple trees, it almost looked like a poor quality game. From a distance it looked beautiful, but looking closer it looked strange. Toburos had gathered on the top of the small mountain. This was their home.
It looked like there were a lot of them, at least more than two hundred in Lucas' eyes, 'now it makes sense why this village is called that' The corners of his mouth lifted and he was a little pleased.
At least one thing was clear in his eyes now, and that was the reason for the name of this village

[Goodbye.]
Lucas looked at Kali for a moment and saw her eyes widen. She didn't look happy about changing back into dragon form.
"Kali, are you alright?" His voice sounded soft.
"Yes, I'm fine, why wouldn't I be fine?" She sniffed her nose and wiped her cheek.
She wasn't facing Lucas so he couldn't see if she was crying or not? Guilt shot through Lucas' body, he just felt sorry for her and blamed himself. It was his fault that Kali looked like that.
"Do you want something to eat?" She quickly changed the subject and turned back to Lucas.
Her face was smiling, but her eyes were getting redder and the water filled them in seconds.
"Kali..." Lucas paused.
"Let's go." Her smile was as cold and lovely as frost on a windowpane.
Lucas said nothing back and just followed her, it was crazy how this creature followed him every step of the way and it felt like it knew where he wanted to go, 'this is crazy' he thought and looked at Kali.
They were approaching a place where apples were sold, at least they looked like apples to Luca's eyes, just a bit bigger.
"How much is for two apples?" Kali asked the seller.
The vendor was creepy, he didn't have a nose either, "how does he breathe?" was another question in Luca's mind.
"Kali, do you've any money?"
"Yes, Kalaini gave me some." She answered his question, her tone sounding better this time.
"A grun." Replied the vendor.
"For two apples?" Kali asked him again.
"One grun." He replied without expression or emotion in his tone.
"How much would it cost for three?" Lucas interrupted, thinking that Toburo might want to eat one too.
"A grun." Answered the vendor again.

"Not you again." Lucas spoke loudly and rolled his eyes.

"What, does that mean they can't talk to us normally?" Lucas' body went cold with shock.
