Chapter 15 On Their Way To The City Of Elves
The word "death" had a traumatising meaning for Lucas, he feared death the most, but not his own death - that of his sister.
Every time he heard someone mention death in public or at school, he tried to get out of that place. When he played video games, he never allowed himself to die because the word made him doubt himself, it made him feel insecure about some certain things.
Lucas loved his little sister and did everything he could to make her life easier. Working in the post office at night and going to school the next morning was a hard way to live, but he could do anything to make sure she got better soon.
He did not want to lose her.
"How did he die if it's impossible to die in this place?" Lucas asked him directly.
Dying in this place definitely sounded horrible to him, but it was something he had to overcome. If there was no chance of coming back, he had to hunt down that wizard who got them here in the first place.
"He's run out of points." Answered Master Wen slowly.
"No more points? Then what about Kalaini? She kept saying she dies and comes back to life, what does that mean?" Lucas brought Kalaini to the subject.
It did not make sense to him, "Kalaini said she was stuck here forever, so why does not she disappear if she does not have any points? His head throbbed with questions.
"Because Kalaini is not the main character here, you are." The old man was not going to answer any more questions for the boy, "now go and get ready for the elves, it's going to be hard for you already." His voice sounded angry.
"No, no, wait! Answer me!" Lucas tried to get up from the floor, but then a sharp pain went through his back, so he leaned back again. 'Ugh, when is this going to be over?
"You want me to make it easier for you?" Master Wen asked him.
"Make what easier?" Lucas replied.
"Ease your pain, of course, what else? I am not going to please you." His tone was sarcastic.
"Please me? What are you even talking about?" Lucas's face immediately flushed red because he knew what he was talking about.
The old man stepped closer to him, put his palm on Luca's neck, which was lying on the ground like a dead leaf, and began to mumble some interesting and ancient words,
*hikura* *marusa* *honara*
Lucas felt a cold hand being placed on his neck, there was no particular feeling or flow of energy like he had felt before.
Just a frozen hand.
"So, is something going to happen now?" Lucas asked him in an agitated voice.
"No, I am just cooling your neck because it hurts." Master Wen raised an eyebrow.
"So there will be no magic coming from your hand?" Lucas raised his voice.
"Of course, I am not a magician."
"Then take that disgusting hand away, I am not gay!" Lucas raged.
He had expected at least some magic to help him heal, but this man here was completely useless at the moment.
Neither did any power flow through him, nor did his hand make him feel any better. "Take it away!" Lucas shook Master Wen's fingers away from him. "Then what were those words you just muttered?"
Master Wen yawned, trying to make it clear that he was fed up with Lucas' questions and this whole situation, "Should not you be getting ready to leave?" He directed his question to Kalaini who was observing the whole situation.
"How are we supposed to go?" Kali asked him.
His expressions sometimes surprised her too, 'should we leave immediately, like now?" she asked herself again.
"Yes, right away." He nodded replying to Kali's inner thoughts. Kali wasn't able to catch that, since Lucas's situation was more important to her right now.
"Lucas, are you okay with this?" Kali was worried that he would not be able to go on a mission, lying on the floor like an unused slipper used for beating.
"Yes, but a shower would be nice." He replied quickly.
[System Activated]
[Go immediately to the City Of The Elves]
[Goodbye]
"Oh, that bitch is back, nice." Lucas waved his hands in the air, trying to be sarcastic. "Go to town yourself if you are so brave." He moved his head to the side.
[System activated]
[You want another electric shock?]
The system asked him a question that surprised them all.
"What? No!" He stood up without realising he was able to do so.
[Then go to the fucking village.]
[Goodbye]
"You know, Kali, sometimes I really wonder who is behind this system." Lucas raised his brows and slapped himself in the face.
"Lucas, you can move now!" Kali jumped up with excitement.
"Let us just go to this stupid village, even if I stink so much." He wiped the grass off his white trousers.
They finally both agreed to go on their first mission, but that was not all, Master Wen still had something to say.
"Izek, if I were you, I would not take those pills." Master Wen said and started looking for something in his pocket.
*scratch* *scratch
His robe looked long, it did not look like it had pockets at all, "oh, here it is." He pulled out a black whistle, "here, this will help you." He handed it to Lucas, expecting him to be pleased with it.
"Old man, what the hell is this?" Lucas made a bitter face.
"Oh, this will help you avoid trouble on your way to the elves." He let go of Lucas' hand and began to go his own way. He was done with this conversation and he was done with Lucas for the moment.
"Do not forget to pretend to be Izek!" He shouted from a distance without looking at them.
"That old geezer." Lucas looked at the whistle, 'what am I supposed to do with this anyway?'
"Hey, old man!" By the time Lucas raised his head, Master Wen was gone, 'for an old man, he sure is fast.' Lucas felt like praising him for his speed.
"So, Kali, are you ready?" He looked ahead, looking forward to his journey, he knew he had no chance of surviving, but he had to find the wizard.
"I was born ready." Replied Kali confidently.
Lucas looked at Kali and was very proud of himself, but then she asked him a question,
"Okay, but how do we get there?"
