Chapter 46 - He Has A Number?
Wednesday...
Going to school, Teren found something strange.
'Why are malicious intent towards me rising? Although it's negligible since its level is far from being killing intent, what did I do?'
Teren thought hard but have no idea. There was one thing he suspected though.
'Are they jealous because Iesa and I have always been together?'
Thinking about this, instead of being irritated, he smiled.
'Go on, be jealous!'
Since he was always sleeping in class, he has no idea what's happening to school. He didn't even know the majority of his classmates' names. Furthermore, the only one he got in contact with was Iesa and she didn't say anything to him.
"Is that him?"
"I kind of pity him. He's now the prime target."
"What happened?"
"You see, he's that Teren who's been hogging Iesa Hun all to himself!"
"... lucky... but is that enough to be the talk of the school?"
"No, do you know what happened to the basketball club? Mira barged into the classroom and called the club president out to talk."
"She did that to a second-year?"
"Yeah, that's why no one can mess with them. Furthermore, Catherine is one of the school idols, only under Iesa while the most popular, Mike, you know him, of course."
"I know them."
"That two, well... have been meeting up with Teren. No one knows the details but Mira and the rest don't like it. So you know, it spread."
"Wow, the power of being popular."
"Not that everyone hates him but those who want to get close to Mike and Catherine's group will surely mess with him."
Teren didn't hear any of this. Just one more street to turn and he would see the school when he noticed hurried footsteps behind him.
Soon, a pretty girl stopped beside him. This pretty girl is none other none Iesa Hun.
"I caught up." she giggled.
This morning, they chatted for a while. Teren said that he will go to school early so Iesa hurried up.
"You did... I thought you just woke up?"
"As long as I want, I can."
"Wow, commendable."
The two cheerfully talked but from the start, when the others saw Iesa Hun running in a hurry so that she can just catch up to Teren... just seeing this-
Envy!
It's fine if iesa didn't talk to anyone but who are you?! Do you qualify!?
This frustrated a lot of male students. At first, they pity Teren since he became a target but seeing how Iesa follows him was enough to give them the desire to bully Teren altogether.
However, how can they do that in front of Iesa?
Iesa's mood soured upon hearing this. But soon ignored them as she focused her attention on their conversation.
Not later though, they entered the classroom. As soon as Iesa sat, Lina stood up and took her hand, taking her away.
"Huh? What are you-"
"I need to talk to you."
Hearing Lina's seriousness, Iesa didn't resist. She just shrugged her hand to escape Lina's grasp and went ahead to their destination.
Lina frowned at this.
'When it's others, she doesn't want to walk behind them. But if it's Teren, she would always follow behind.'
Hearing this almost made Iesa trip but she easily recovered with Lina only seeing this rare scene.
With a reddened face and wiggly smiled, Iesa replied in her mind.
'I'm just accustomed because I was always following him back them. It's not my intention.'
After retaining her composure, the two were in front of the emergency stairs. They didn't enter it since it was unnecessary. It was still early so not that many students are there.
"What is it?" Iesa crossed her arms under her chest, assuming a domineering stance.
But Lina was not daunted.
"Get away from him."
Her straightforwardness almost stunned Iesa.
"Get away from Teren?" she glared.
"Yes, you've been causing him trouble. You must've no knowledge about it so let me tell you. Teren is going to be targeted. With you around, the students will not be able to mess with him, however, that doesn't mean their animosity will fade, instead, it will increase."
"So you're saying I let them mess with Teren, get their satisfaction and everything will be normal?"
Just from Iesa's tone, it was obvious she did not like that idea by even an ounce. But she was fully aware of it. If she was fine with it, she would've already done so from the beginning.
That's why Lina's words didn't budge her.
"Of course not," Lina's lips curled to a smile, "Unlike you, I'm just one kind class president. While they mess with him, he can lean on him. Don't worry, I can take care of him."
Hearing this, Iesa was surprised that she was finally showing her true colors.
"Unlike me?"
"Iesa, don't feel conceited but you're regarded as the ice queen here at school. Almost everyone idolizes you, again, don't be conceited. If you cling onto Teren and only to him, of course, the others will hate him. To be frank, you either talk to no one or talk to everyone."
Lina's words were the truth but Iesa sneered at this.
"When did I care about what others feel? Also, Lina, you have no idea what you're talking about?"
"What?" Lina frowned. She was here, telling Iesa what to do but then, it turns out, she was the one who has no idea of what's happening?
"Of course, I won't tell you." Iesa smiled.
'The others should fear Teren. They are just normal students. Teren is a psychopath.'
Unfortunately for Lina, she has didn't witness what truly transpired the other night. However, she knew that Iesa and Nick were hiding something from her about Teren. She's itching to find what it is.
"If that's all, my answer is I will not."
"You will not what?"
"I will not get away from Teren. So what if other's hate him? It's not like Teren like them nor he wants to be like by them."
"You talk as if you know him." Lina confidently said, "I've been Teren's classmate since the first year of junior high school. In other words, four years! We've been classmates for four years!"
"Pfft," Iesa 'restrained' her laughter as she replied, "Just classmates? Although we've only been chatting for few days, I think I know more about him than you do."
"Huh? Chatting?"
"Yes, chatting."
"You have... Teren's number?"
"Yes, I have."
"He has a number?"
"You... don't know?"
At that moment, Lina turned around and ran!
