Re: Apocalypse Game

Chapter 19: Stats

Chapter 19: Stats

This apartment served as the second designated meeting place for Alan and Daniel. The high school student shared his harrowing experiences over the past three hours, expressing his relief at finally reuniting with Alan. However, there was a burning question that Daniel couldn't contain any longer.

"How did you know all these details about the game?" he inquired, his curiosity piqued by Alan's extensive knowledge. Yet, Alan calmly dismissed the question, stating, "Not the time."

Alan introduced Daniel to the rest of the group, and they wasted no time in splitting up to thoroughly search the entire apartment building. Renewed vigor propelled them forward, motivated by the need to find crucial resources.

Within a matter of minutes, their efforts bore fruit. They discovered four additional winter jackets, similar to the one Luis was already wearing, and three even thicker jackets with enhanced protection against the cold.

[Name: Winter Jacket]

[Type: Clothes]

[Rarity: Common]

[Attributes: Defense +3]

[Effects: Moderate Cold resistance]

[Equipment Rating: 14]

[Able To Bring Outside The Game: No]

[Remarks: It's fashionable too!]

Alan passed the winter gear he found to the others and announced, "Alright, as Luis already has one, these will be for the four of us," Alan said with a knowing smile towards the Mexican player.

Luis' face had gone pale from shock, and he could only stammer as he stared at the jackets.

Unlike what he was wearing, the winter jacket with extra buff would help drop 2 levels of the cold status. In other words, it would highly increase the chance of survival in this round, at least from death by cold.

Overwhelmed by the dire circumstances, Luis mustered the courage to approach Milo and request a trade. However, Milo remained unyielding, leaving Luis unable to make his plea.

He started to check on all the loot they had just found.

He took out the [Beginners Suit] and wore the [Winter jacket]. There were a few other marked items that he found.

[Name: Shirts]

[Type: Clothes]

[Rarity: Common]

[Attributes: Defense +1]

[Effects: None]

[Equipment Rating: 3]

[Able to Bring Outside the Game: Yes]

[Remarks: It comes in many colors to stay fitting in styles]

[Name: Sneakers]

[Type: Clothes]

[Rarity: Common]

[Attributes: Defense: 1]

[Effects: None]

[Equipment Rating: 3]

[Able to Bring Outside the Game: Yes]

[Remarks: If you don't feel like it, don't do it!]

However, although he could equip both the jacket and shirt, the game marked them as the same body clothes, giving him only the buff of the higher-rated item. Hence, he helped himself with an unmarked shirt and trousers instead. As for the marked shirt, he kept it for something else.

Alan opened his [Gamelink] to check his current stats when he had finished.

[Equipment]

[Winter Jacket, Sneaker]

[Defense: 4]

[Hunting Knife]

[Damage 12-15]

[Equipment Rating: 14]

The equipment rating was an average rating that provided insight into the quality of his equipment. In this case, the better the equipment he wore, the higher the rating would be shown.

Satisfied with his new gear, Alan took a moment to approach Daniel and ask about his stat

[Daniel Judge, Male, 17 years]

[Level 2: 240/300]

[HP: 130/130]

[Stamina: 100%]

[Survival Points: 400]

[Strength: E-]

[Agility: E+]

[Endurance: E]

[Perception: E]

[Intelligence: F+]

[Spirit: F-]

[Skill- Common]

[Throwing Weapon (Basic)]

[Skill- Uncommon]

[Athletics (Basic)]

As a skillful football player, Daniel had quite good physical stats. Alan had seen the young man's stats before in his previous life, and one interesting thing was his [Athletics (Basic)] skill that gave him a boost in movement speed and stamina.

At this moment Alan took the time to gather the group and ask about their stats;

"Knowing your stats will help me understand our strength as a group"

Alan didn't force them, but one by one they were more than willing to share.

"You can check mine first, I am happy to share" Said the beautiful brunette with her usual teasing voices

[Victoria Collins, Female, 23 years]

[Level 2: 240/300]

[HP: 110/110]

[Stamina: 100%]

[Survival Points: 400]

[Strength: F+]

[Agility: E+]

[Endurance: F+]

[Perception: E-]

[Intelligence: E-]

[Spirit: F]

[Skill- Uncommon]

[Speechcraft (Basic)]

[Skill- Unique]

The young woman had below-average stats and no common skills, except for the expected [speechcraft] skill that could be useful in certain situations. However, what surprised Alan was her unique [Gifted] skill. This skill was rare and not widely known, but Alan, with his experience in the game, recognized its incredible potential. If trained effectively, the young woman could be an immense asset to him in the future.

"You like what you are seeing don't you?!" Victoria smile teasingly

Ignoring her teas once again Alan looks toward Milo, with much expectation.

[Milo Tagliano, Male, 32 years]

[Level 2: 420/500]

[HP: 160/160]

[Stamina: 100%]

[Survival Points: 400]

[Strength: D-]

[Agility: E]

[Endurance: D-]

[Perception: E]

[Intelligence: F]

[Spirit: F-]

[Average Rating: E-]

[Skill- Common]

[Hand to Hand (Expert)

[Blunt Weapon (Basic)]

[Skill - Unique]

[Tenacity(Basic)]

The stats displayed on Alan's Gamelink surprised him. Milo possessed an exceptional level of strength and endurance, indicated by his D- rating. Although he used one of his previous points to increase his strength, the man had above-average stats among first-time players.

What intrigued Alan the most was Milo's [Tenacity (Basic)] skill, known to give an increase in HP and Stamina generation. Milo's expertise in hand-to-hand combat further piqued Alan's interest, prompting him to ask, "You're a boxer, aren't you?"

The hulking man nonchalantly responded, "Sort of," leaving Alan with a desire to learn more about him. However, the boxer obviously had no plan to share about his life, so Alan did not pry further.

Alan was ready to move on to his next task when Luis, the Mexican player, shouted, "Me! Me! You haven't seen mine, cabrón!"

The truth was that Alan had no expectations for Luis, but out of politeness, he decided to entertain him. "Let me see," Alan replied.

[Luis Pena, Male, 25 years]

[Level 2: 240/300]

[HP: 120/120]

[Stamina: 100%]

[Survival Points: 400]

[Strength: F+]

[Agility: E-]

[Endurance: E-]

[Perception: E-]

[Intelligence: F]

[Spirit: F-]

As expected, Luis had somewhat average stats. However, Alan was suddenly startled by the information displayed below:

[Skill - Uncommon]

[Cooking (Basic)]

[Repair (Basic)]

[Piloting (Basic)]

[Steal (Basic)]

[Lockpicking (Basic)]

Luis was a handyman with multiple uncommon skills, causing Alan to shake his head in wonder about the kind of job the man had outside of the game. Although he might not be suitable for combat, Luis could prove to be very useful in other areas.

Alan couldn't help but smile, realizing the fortunate discovery of such a well-rounded team.
