Chapter 385 – “What boyfriend?” (3)
Liang AnQi was cute and pleasing but there were plenty like her on a platform with all sorts of streamers nor did her looks allow her to stand out among the others. She was not able to get ahead among all of her competitors.
In particular when her streams offered nothing unique. Her singing was mediocre. She could play the piano but there wasn’t one in the dormitory.
She wrung her head trying to come up with interesting skids and wanted to attract more viewers from funny skids.
She never had a solid grip on her technical knowledge and, now that she had shifted her focus onto internet streaming, her studies had fallen behind even more.
The term-end examinations were like gibberish to her. The examinations for the exchange students were identical to the other students at the university, except they had been converted into foreign language. As far as Liang AnQi was concerned, she would much prefer it if they were in Chinese.
Liang AnQi was in a complete state of daze after the examination. She didn’t need to look at the answers to know that she had completely blown it.
When the scores were released, she had failed miserably on all counts expectedly. What distressed her even more was the fact that Li XinYun scored the highest in their field and she was the last.
Losing to others was one thing; losing to Fang JunRong’s daughter was something totally different.
Her friend asked her in a low voice, “AnQi, what is going on with you? You’ve always had good grades in the past.”
Liang AnQi felt embarrassed but she quickly put on a distressed look. “My mother had reduced the amount of money that she had been sending me so I had to take on a part-time job. That and I was sick during the examination time frame and was not in my best shape.” She had no choice but to look for excuses to preserve her own self-esteem.
Her schoolmate believed in her made-up excuse and comforted her. She told her to study hard and do better during the makeup examinations.
The mention of makeup examinations sounded awful to Liang AnQi but there was nothing that she could say.
Regardless, makeup examinations wouldn’t happen till the following semester. What was most important to her right now was to make a lot of money.
As long as she could become the boss lady of Qixing, having a degree or not was not important at all.
After her distress had subsided, she regrouped and refocused on her work as a streamer. Little did she know, Kong Shuang, her mother, would return to China for her.

Standing in front of City S University, Kong Shuang felt nervous. She had been feeling anxious ever since she received the anonymous email.
Her very first reaction was that it was a prank for the purpose of dividing her and her daughter. Then, recalling all the changes that she had seen in her daughter as of late, she couldn’t help but feel suspicious about it.
Ever since her daughter had regained consciousness after the drowning incident, her docile personality had changed quite a bit. Her temperament had become progressively worse and she had been distant to her, as though there was a veil between the two of them.
Kong Shuang had originally thought that the changes were caused by Liang AnQi finding out that she was born out of the wedlock and was shocked by that finding.
Kong Shuang had wanted to have a good chat with Liang AnQi but Liang AnQi would not give her the time of day. She said she wanted to return to China and that she would be buying a house there.
Kong Shuang, not wanting the relationship between herself and her daughter to worsen, listened to her daughter, sold their other houses, and had Liang AnQi bring the money back to China with her.
Lo and behold, Kong Shuang had lost contact completely with her daughter after she had returned to China.
If what was said in the email was true and that AnQi’s body was taken over by some other spirit, then where was her daughter? Where could she be?
Kong Shuang took a deep breath and asked the direction from a student nearby. With the student’s help, she arrived at the bottom of the dormitory building.
From what was told to her by the student, all of the foreign exchange students stayed at the apartment meant for exchange students.
Kong Shuang, however, had no idea where her daughter was staying. That, on top of the fact that she wasn’t a student of the university, she couldn’t enter into the dormitory building. She could only ask every student who left the building whether they knew AnQi.
Kong Shuang was quite lucky, the third person that she stopped was one of Li XinYun’s female schoolmates. She came over specifically to bring Liang AnQi and the others local snacks from her hometown.
Looking at Kong Shuang, she asked, “You are AnQi’s mother?”
Kong Shuang nodded, “Yes, can you please have AnQi come downstairs to meet me?”
The female student said, “Let me go get her.” Hesitated a little, she recalled Liang AnQi who was making money as an internet streamer and compassion filled her.
She couldn’t help but say to Kong Shuang, “Mother AnQi, I know it is everyone’s right to pursue their own happiness but you shouldn’t have abandoned AnQi for your boyfriend either.”
Liang AnQi would not need to make money as an internet streamer had her mother not stopped supporting her.
Kong Shuang was stunned. “What boyfriend?”
