Chapter 387 – She had a feeling that Liang AnQi would go look for Jiang DeXian again. (2)
The girl who brought Kong Shuang over said, “If there is a misunderstanding between the two of you, now is the time to clear things up. I’m taking off now.”
Liang AnQi’s face changed colors a little. She recalled everything that she had made up in the past and regretted. She worried that Kong Shuang would find out about them.
Kong Shuang thanked the student then turned and looked quietly at Liang AnQi.
Liang AnQi’s guilty conscience grew when she was looked at by Kong Shuang. “Mom……” She pouted and said, “I, I didn’t say all those on purpose. I was being ostracized when I first arrived in China. They were envious that I am from a wealthy family so I had to make up some pitiful stories to make them feel better. That way they would stop bullying me.”
Kong Shuang would have believed in every word that she said in the past but now…… after seeing how passionate that girl was, Kong Shuang didn’t believe in one word coming out of Liang AnQi.
The female student cared a lot about AnQi. In fact, worried that there had been misunderstandings between the mother and daughter , she had put in a lot of good words for Liang AnQi on their way to Liang AnQi’s room.
Kong Shuang was more and more certain that the person standing in front of her was not her daughter! Her daughter would never smear another for the sake of pawning off responsibilities.
She asked lightly, “Are you really my daughter?”
A look of nervousness flashed past Liang AnQi’s face. Her eyes rolled round and she tightened her fists. She forced a smile onto herself and said, “What are you talking about, Mom? Do you not love me any more and want to have a different daughter?” She turned the table around with an aggrieved look.
Seeing the expressions on Liang AnQi, Kong Shuang already had the answer that she was looking for. She lowered her eyes and said, “Oh, you child. Your personality had changed so much since you had regained consciousness and that made me worried. You can always tell me if you feel aggrieved. You shouldn’t keep everything bottled up. We are mother and daughter. I will always have your best interest in mind.”
Kong Shuang knew that this was not the time to bring everything into the open. She needed to calm the other person while she tried to locate her own daughter!
“Do you remember when you were a child and insisted on having mangoes when you were running a fever? All the grocery stores were closed at the time and Mom drove to a friend’s house to bring back some mangoes. You only had one bite and didn’t want them anymore. I was so mad then.”
AnQi was allergic to mangoes and would never have them. Kong Shuang only said that to test her.
Liang AnQi felt a burden being lifted off of her shoulders when she heard that. Her looks mellowed out. “I knew Mom always loved me the most.” She had no recollection of the incident that Kong Shuang had described. She possessed the original owner’s memory but she needed to try hard whenever she needed to access them.
She walked in front of Kong Shuang, put her arms around hers and smiled at her coquettishly.
Kong Shuang gave her a doting look but her eyes were cold.
She was reluctant to have anything else to do with the Liang family but, for the sake of getting her daughter back, she had no choice but to have the Liang family look for a grandmaster. She must get her precious daughter back.
Her lips curved and she said to AnQi. “You’ve mentioned that your aunty has been very nice to you since your return. Mom needs to go and thank her in person.”
Liang AnQi’s look stiffened – she hadn’t contacted her aunty for a while now. But it wouldn’t hurt to have her mother reached out to her first. The original owner’s mother had a very mild temperament and was well liked by others.
She handed Liang Feng’s number to Kong Shuang.
Kong Shuang jotted it down and planned to reach out to Liang Feng for help when the time came.
