Chapter 216: The Places We Will Go To
Chapter 216: The Places We Will Go To
Two days have passed since Noah, the Glorious One, reached the coast of the Western Continent. He was supposed to meet with Viel, the anomaly that kept on disrupting his carefully planned Prophecy. He had worked for it for hundreds and thousands of years, but for it to just be disrupted by someone, that is unforgivable.
But now, the Glorious One was leisurely drinking fruit juice. The sound of a stuttered slurp entered his ears as the little girl beside him, who was also leisurely partaking in her drink, was playing with her beverage.
A satisfied breath then sizzled through the air as soon as the little girl chugged all of her fruit juice down, wiping her mouth with a wide smile on her face as she looked towards the endless blue.
With the warmth of the sun mellowing their skin, Noah's sweat, which he did not know that he was capable of releasing, trickled on his dark skin. His sweat reflected the calm rays of the sun, his dark skin shining like that of gold.
In the end, Noah did not leave and chose to stay for a few days. It would be better to acclimate himself with his human form before engaging the anomaly, he thought. Even though he had already read the reports of what Viel was capable of, he did not really know as to what extent his strength really expands to.
And so, he chose to stay.
The little girl she was with that was solemnly looking at the horizon was named Lyanna. It would seem that her parents have just died recently. The neighbors brought her food from time to time, but if there weren't any offerings, she had to search for food herself.
She had to fish in the ocean or catch some crabs that get lost on the shore. But if she wasn't lucky, she would have to scavenge some edible plants or mushrooms in the forest deeper into the island.
But since Noah arrived 2 days ago, Lyanna hasn't had to search for food herself. Noah did it for her.
But everything has to end. Noah will be leaving when the night comes, he has already sufficiently acclimated to his human body now.
Whatever happens to Lyanna after that, even for him, was out of his hands. It was up to fate now.
Because fate
...Fate decides everything.
"...Uhhh."
Noah's thoughts were then disrupted as a loud rumbling noise entered his ears.
"I am hungry!"
Noah then felt a torrent of sand landing on his face as Lyanna suddenly jumped up from her position.
Lyanna, however, did not seem to realize that Noah's face was now covered in sand as she continued to run, her feet digging in the sand and once again throwing them on Noah's face.
"..."
Noah could only sigh as he slowly sat up, the grains of sand falling from his face one by one. Noah's eyes then suddenly lit up, turning blue, as if reflecting the ocean itself. His whole body then rippled, and the sand that was resting on his skin fell to the ground, passing through his skin and flesh as if they did not exist.
With all the sand sticking on him gone, he stood up and followed Lyanna to her house. He did not want to admit it, but he too was getting famished. It would seem that with him adapting a humanoid body, came the disadvantages of it as well.
But he could just not return to his God Form, if he did, even the slightest movement of his would destroy mountains.
"Mister Noah!"
"...Hm?"
Before Noah could reach Lyanna's small house, she ran back towards him, her voice clearly in distress, "Someone is in the house!", she bellowed.
"Oi, don't let the brat run!"
It was then that two men suddenly stepped outside the house.
"Oi, someone else is here!"
"What? I thought the girl lived alone!?"
"W what the!?"
Seeing Lyanna run behind a tall dark-skinned man, the two strangers could not help but widen their eyes in shock.
"What's your kind doing all the way out here, eh?", one of the men spoke, his tone snarling.
"Did you also hear about the gold!?"
Hearing the men's words, Noah could not help but furrow his human eyebrows, "My kind?", he asked, "You know of what I am?"
"Huh?", the two men looked at each other with half of their lips raised, "Of course we do, your kind belongs farther down south!"
"What are you even doing here!? Go back down to where you belong, you dark-skin!"
"...Oh."
Noah was slightly surprised at first when they mentioned his kind, they thought they were talking about gods, but it turns out they were only talking about the color of the skin of his humanoid form.
"Why does it matter when I am?", Noah then said.
"Pft.", hearing his words, the two men could not help but scoff, "Look at this guy. I bet you're here to steal the treasures as well, ain't ya!?"
"You are not getting my shells!", Lyanna quickly screamed out as soon as she heard the men mentioning about stealing the treasures, pointing at them with her small trembling hand.
"Shells? What do you mean shells!?", one of the men roared, "We are here for your parent's treasure, brat!"
"Tell us where it is!"
"N never!", Lyanna stuttered as she suspiciously glanced back and forth in a certain direction.
Of course, Lyanna's obvious gaze did not escape the eyes of the men as they looked to where Lyanna was glancing at.
"It's there!"
"No!", Lyanna once again cried out as she hugged Noah's leg, "Don't touch it!"
"We're going to be rich!"
"No! Mister, please stop them!"
"Hm", Noah let out a short sigh, "Close your eyes then, little human and don't move from here."
Lyanna, without even the slightest hesitation, closed her eyes and quickly let go of Noah's leg.
"Humans, you can still walk away from this.", Noah said as he slowly approached the two who were digging out Lyanna's prized shells.
"I would not take pleasure in taking a life that is not hindering the Prophecy."
"What the"
The two men instantly stopped their search as they looked at each other. "What's this guy saying?"
"Is he crazy?"
The two then started to laugh as they turned around to look at Noah. "These dark-skins are known for their curses. Maybe this guy is cursing us right now!"
"Bahahaha!"
"Are you really cursing us ri--"
Before one of the men could even finish talking, his companion felt a warm rain suddenly showering down on him.
"Wha", the man could not help but blink numerous times as he felt the warmth continue to trail down his face. He then slowly looked towards his shoulders, which seemed to be heavier. And there, he saw some sort of large worm.
No It was the insides of his companion.
"!!!"
"What did you--"
Alas, he too, burst out in a mist of blood before he could even finish his words. Noah, on the other hand, only sighed as he looked at the mess he created. He then slowly waved his hand, and with it, the movement of sand.
The sand trembled, swallowing all the remains that were left of the two thieves that dared trespass in Lyanna's house.
"You can open your eyes now, little human."
"Woh!", as soon as she opened her eyes, Lyanna jumped in excitement, "They're gone, what did you do!?", she bellowed as she ran towards Noah and once again hugged his leg.
"...Their fate was to leave this place."
"I I see", Lyanna nodded as she tightened her embrace around Noah's leg, "That was scary, wasn't it? Were you scared? I wasn't!"
"...No, I was not."
"Heh", Lyanna sniffled as she heard Noah's reply, "If you were, it would be alright, you know?", she whispered, her words trembling.
"..."
"Yes, I was scared", Noah then said as he placed his hand on top of Lyanna's head.
"Ah, there there", Lyanna then patted Noah's leg, "It's alright it alright."
"I here"
The sound of Lyanna's tears reached Noah's ears, louder than even the waves that were crashing to the shore.
"Is alright", Lyanna continued to cry as her whole body trembled, "It's not scary."
Noah could not help but let out a sigh as he stared at the crying little human.
When he used his powers earlier, there were still bits and pieces remaining from the humans that he erased. That probably meant that he wasn't as used to this humanoid body as he thought he was. Because if he is, not even a speck of blood would have remained.
...Maybe he needed to stay for a little while longer.

Back in Duke Erik's city. Viel, Diao Mei, Violet, and Lu Xun were walking down the streets and taking in the sights of the city at night. Even though there were no particular events going on, the night seemed festive. As if it was more alive at night than it was during the morning.
"So Viel, what are you going to do now?"
Violet asked as she walked beside Viel. Diao Mei and Lu Xun seemed to be having a private conversation, so Violet chose to distance themselves from the two as she slightly pulled Viel ahead.
"Hm? Eat?"
"No", Violet could not help but slightly chuckle as she shook her head, "I mean with your mother. Now that she's here, are you going to live with her from now on?"
"No, of course not."
"Why not?"
"There are still lots of places to explore in this world. I want to see them before I disappear."
"Disappear?"
"Hm", Viel nodded his head as he continued to walk, looking for something to eat, "I might be disappearing soon."
"Where are you going?"
"Honestly I don't know."
