Vol. 3 - Chapter 206 - The appearance of a super rare item!
In <Dungeon Activity> exists several items, each with their own legend.
And this time, I’m going to introduce one of them.
The name of such fabled item is <Gold Selector (xx grade)>.
Its effect is as the name suggests, use and convert the boss <Treasure chest> to a <Gold chest>. An unimaginably coveted item that will let you select the ‘most gold’ treasure chest, but of course, it's a disposable item.
It's a super rare item that usually drops from <Treasure Chest>, and it comes in 4 types, namely <Beginner>, <Intermediate>, <Upper>, <Advanced> and <Top> grades. This means that the grade that can be used for each dungeon grade is different.
For example, <Gold chest (Beginner grade)> will not be effective in any dungeon other than a beginner grade one
And such a super rare item has luckily drawn in the dungeon reserved by second year seniors. That's why, even if they encountered the rare boss, it was inevitable their eyes would literally shine with Mir, imagining the gold chest they could get by using <Gold Selector>.
But unfortunately, it ended in utter failure.
However, they didn't give up even after being carried away by the <Rescue Committee>, no matter how miserable they looked with tears pooling in their eyes and returned again, thus concluding why there was commotion outside the dungeon entrance.
Just to add, one will be penalized by the academy if there comes the report of <Rescue Operation> again on the same day against the same enemy. Penalty is mostly in terms of quest points.
This is also the reason why they are hesitating for the second time.
And as it's known, the rare boss will never disappear unless defeated, so the opportunity of <Gold Selector (Beginner)> is naturally not going anywhere.
So if I went out to defeat the enemy now, the unexpected windfall in the form of a gold chest would of course be ours.
Excellent! Forgive me, O' rare boss, for thou stood in the way of mine gold chest!! What? Compensation from Senpai? I refuse. No way, after all, I'm a fair person,
Thus, I quickly wrapped our conversation and consulted with my party. The Senpai party seemed to have suddenly fallen on their knees, but it wasn't time for me to dilly-dally.
"That's why, we are going to attack and subjugate the rare boss in the <Poisonous Mushroom Cavern Dungeon>."
"I have lots to grumble about - why now, what about your preparations for tomorrow, just how much time it would take given that it's past 5 o'clock already or so, but either way, Z-E-P-H-Y-R."
"Ohh, what Sierra?"
"I don't care if you have already decided, do your best."
"Uwaah, what sharp stare!"
And truthfully, there was a nuisance included in her speech that I didn't understand at all! Forgive me for deciding on my own, Sierra-sama!
"What, I don't think there's any problem deciding without asking, and doesn't it give the sense of adventure! Count me in! Rare boss's gold chest is going to be this Princess’!"
"What are your preparations for tomorrow, Your Highness Lana? I'm sure you were supposed to meet with Ester and others, weren't you?"
"I believe this is more important than anything!"
I couldn't help but be awed by the brilliance of Lana who follows her desires so boldly, I couldn't agree with her! I also want to be faithful to my desires!
"Now-now Sierra, stop giving stares and come with us! That's a gold chest you know!"
"......... Hmmm... "
Oops, she seems to be in a dilemma. Sierra originally took time out of her tight schedule to participate in today's party. I wouldn't have forced her in normal cases, but now, I don't think she truly wished for that, so I'm going to make her stay by any means. With all that said, I'm sure even Sierra would have wanted to fight a rare boss.
I haven't yet forgotten that one remark she had said when we defeated the final "Cactus Cowboy".
Not to say I know a way which can ease her worries. For I have called an ultimate helper to solve some of her worries.
Speak of the devil and the devil appears.
"Thank you for waiting, Zephyr-dono. I am back now."
"Perfect timing, Ester!"
Apparently, the other party had just finished their boss fight, and as soon as I confirmed this via chat in my <Smartphone>¹, I immediately called for Ester's support.
The rest of the members seem to be fighting with the boss once again so Ester has returned one step earlier and hence, she's now here.
According to my estimation, It would hardly take 20 minutes for us to reach at the deepest floor if we raced through our way riding the carriage and took the shortest route
It is possible for us to return before 6 o'clock with enough time to spare for sure.
Sierra was stunned as she stared at Ester when I explained everything to her so enthusiastically.
"...... Is it really that fast?"
"I recall Sierra-sama has yet to experience it, but I can vouch for Zephyr-dono's words. It's blazing fast."
"....... I see. Well if we can return before 6 o'clock, all right."
Hurray! Sierras caved-in!
"I also want to go, Ester!"
"Sure Lana-sama. Let's go together."
"Hmm, hey Ester. Aren't you spoiling Her Highness Lana too much? Did something happen recently that I'm unaware of?"
"It doesn't hurt to concede sometimes. Classes are going to start from tomorrow and so, time to play will naturally decrease. Don't you think it's already a kind of punishment for cheerful Lana-sama?"
"...... Well, true. It's just a one hour trip."
Sierra seems to be worried about Ester's spoiling remark too, but Ester somehow managed to gloss over and convinced her to join, mentioning how it will be only a one hour trip.
This confirms 4 members, now what should I do about the last member......
"Would it be all right if I join you, Zephyr?"
"Karua?"
The one who raised their hand was surprisingly Karua. Karua, who was silently watching the situation unfolding together with Rika, was someone who rarely asserts herself. That's why I couldn't help but be surprised.
"Hnn, how should I say...... I feel as if an invisible force is beaconing me."
Hmm?"
Apparently, Karua herself doesn't seem to understand why she stepped out to participate. If I have to give it any name, should I call it intuition?
That reminds me, Karua is the holder of <Sixth Sense> like me.
As far as I can recall, <Sixth Sense> in game time never had such a foreboding effect but now, there are times I feel like I could sense everything much clearer in my everyday's life.
I wonder if it's what they called omen or something.
While I was going through all that, Karua turned her gaze to Rika who was standing beside her. It seems like she was silently asking if it's all right for her to go. Well, it's not surprising, considering how both of them never leave each side for the most part.
Rika, who also understood this, chuckled.
"You should go. I already had my fill today, so I'm leaving the next part to you."
"Really?"
"Of course. Instead, how about you let me have fun next time if another exciting event occurred?"
"Hnn, I promise. You're the best, Rika."
With the concession from Rika, the last position was filled by Karua.
"We are all set, so let's depart quickly. The quicker we go, the quicker we will return. A gold chest is waiting for us!"
"I'm looking forward to it! I'm going then Rika"
"Bye-bye, and you guys too, have a safe trip."
Being sent off by Rika, we hurriedly went down to the entrance leading to the dungeon.
It seems our adventure on the final day to be exempted from the classes will continue for a bit more.
