Chapter 14: Bonk Power
Chapter 14: Bonk Power
"Huh? What was that?" Johnson and Elia exchanged looks when they heard the sound.
Since the sound came from Albert's room, they hurriedly thought someone had attacked Albert because they were jealous that Fila had brought him here to thank him.
Hence, they quickly opened the door to check on Albert.
The latter already came out of the room after knocking Fila away. His heart skipped a beat when he saw Johnson and Elia standing in the corridor.
Due to the situation, Albert thought the two were trying to stop him and was helping Fila, so Albert shouted while gently pushing them with his bat.
"Sorry!"
Luckily, the bonk's effect was longer than he expected because these two weren't blown away.
Elia and Johnson were confused as to why Albert ran away, so they took a peek at the room and found Fila sitting on the ground with a tired expression.
"Ouch." Fila gritted her teeth and placed her hand on the back, still feeling the numbing sensation from the collision.
"Sister?!" Johnson tilted his head in confusion while calling her name. "Why are you here?"
"" Fila clicked her tongue and said, "That guy knocked me out"
"You didn't answer my question." Johnson frowned, feeling something was wrong. "Besides, did he hit you with his bat?"
"Yeah. How did you know?" Fila raised her eyebrows, surprised at her brother's knowledge.
"That's because he hit us to save us from the goblins. Besides, the place he hit shouldn't be hurt."
"What are you talking about? He was using all that for" She fell silent when she realized her hand didn't feel any pain. In other words, Albert never planned to harm her and only did it for self-defense.
When she thought about it, her thought process changed as she muttered, "He behaved like a gentleman. To think he refused to harm me If he hit me outside, I wouldn't crash into something and feel this pain in my back.
"To think I tried to force myself on a gentleman. That's right. There are proper stages for this. We need to have a date first, marriage, and do this." She clasped her hands together as she couldn't help but let out a hollow laugh. "Hihi"
"Sister. Are you alright on the head? Did your head hit the wall?" Johnson's eyebrows twitched, not understanding the change in his sister's mind.
"How about you? Normally, you two would have been in the middle of it. Why are you here with your clothes still on?" Fila answered him with another question.
"Ehm?" Johnson turned to Elia with a confused face. Elia thought for a moment and replied, "Isn't it because we have a better understanding that we need an appropriate time and place? We don't want to lose our lives."
"That's right." Johnson agreed. "Besides, Albert is here today, so it's not appropriate to disturb him."
"You're the one who has changed," Fila commented while shaking her head helplessly. "You never cared about it even when I brought someone back."
"" Johnson fell silent for a moment and couldn't deny it. "That's true."
"See?"
"I feel like I can see the clear picture of this life after getting hit by his bat." Johnson scratched the back of his head, assessing the situation.
"Ah, to think he's such a great man. He has changed my brother for the better. I shouldn't meet with any men after this and appropriately thank him. Then, we can gradually form a relationship." She made a genuine smile as if she truly hoped to achieve this.
Such a wonder from the bonk.
While they were talking about their change, Albert had a completely different idea. He ran as fast as possible, trying to go to the street, so Fila wouldn't dare chase him.
After that, he looked around and saw a man standing in the middle of the street as though he was waiting for someone.
Since he wasn't occupied yet, Albert hurriedly approached him and asked, "Hello, can I ask you a question?"
"Huh?" The man was confused but still said, "Make it quick."
"I want to know the direction to the inn. The cheap one." Albert added the second statement because he was poor.
Luckily, he didn't take out the copper coins or he would suffer today.
The man pointed to the right and said, "Just follow this road and go right on the second block. The inn will be on your right It has a bed sign on it, so I'm sure you can find it."
"Thank you." Albert nodded and rushed toward the inn, not wanting to spend more time in the open. He was afraid that Fila would chase him together with Johnson and Elia.
He couldn't win against them because he was just a new person in this town, so it was better not to meet them for the time being.
It took Albert two minutes to find the inn. The information was accurate as he saw a bed sign hanging on the wall.
The building was two-storeyed-tall and had been painted white to stand out among the wooden houses around it. However, the design itself was pretty much the same as any other buildings, so Albert paid no attention to the building's appearance and pushed the door open.
A bull walking on two feet soon entered his vision. His eyes were fierce and his horns felt really sharp, but when their eyes intertwined, the bull offered his best smile and said, "Welcome."
Albert couldn't help but calm down a bit and entered the building. There was only a small corridor leading to another corridor on the left of the stairs, so he thought this inn only had rooms to sleep in.
"A new face around here How can I help you?" The bull smiled.
Albert took another look at the bull and found his information.
Name: Ryan
Race: Minotaur
Level: 25
Gender: Male
He couldn't help but gulp down and realize his muscular body was hidden underneath his loose white t-shirt.
However, he resolved his mind and said, "I would like to get a room for tonight."
"Certainly. It's three copper coins."
Albert took out three coins and put them on the counter. "Here you go."
The minotaur then handed him the key and said, "Your room is the second room on the left."
Seeing the minotaur pointing at the corridor on the first floor, Albert nodded and thanked him before making his way to his room. He just wanted to rest after everything he experienced today.
