Chapter 37 Names
"You guys can go now," Arthur said to Erick's subordinates.
Usually, they would help with the care for a few days until the owner could take care of the animals on their own, but of course, Arthur didn't need that.
Erick's subordinates didn't say anything, after their leader handed over all the keys of cages to Arthur, they returned to their respective cars, leaving quietly.
"Oh, ya Uncle Joe, please order some meat, no, just bring some cows or goats here," Amanda said to Joe.
The latter was a bit worried as he nodded.
Then, Amanda asked Arthur "what are we going to do with them now?"
She still seemed unable to decide.
"Of course, we'll let them go, nobody likes living in a cage" Arthur answered as he fiddled with the keys in his hand.
The old men instantly changed their expressions when they heard Arthur's words. Uncle Joe even grabbed Arthur's shoulder to stop him. "Wait, you can't do that," he said.
Arthur didn't respond, he kept walking, which of course Joe couldn't stop.
"Miss?" In the end, the old man looked at Amanda.
"Don't worry," Amanda replied. She herself forced herself to calm down.
"Amanda!" Arthur suddenly called her name, he signaled for her to follow him.
Amanda wondered why he had called her. She then stepped closer to him until arriving in front of one of the tigress cages.
The huge creature turned its gaze towards her as she drew near. It kept looking at her but with gentle eyes as if it wanted to jump up to hug her.
Arthur had purposely told her to come closer to get a closer look at the tigress so that in the process of releasing it, she would not worry.
Then, he stuck the key into the keyhole on the cage. With one twist, the cage instantly opened.
If the tiger in the cage had been a wild tiger, it would have immediately jumped out, but it was still calm, waiting for permission to come out.
Arthur opened the cage fully then touched the tigress' ear.
The latter seemed pleased, moving like it wanted to jump but then took a step. Its slightly opened mouth let out a low roar.
"You can give it a name," Arthur said to Amanda. He took a step back, allowing the tigress to approach Amanda.
As soon as it arrived in front of her, its big head stroked Amanda's body.
Amanda finally couldn't hold back her curiosity any longer. She landed her palm on the tigress' head. Its thick yet soft fur surprised her, making her think it would always feel warm if she hugged it.
Seeing that she had calmed down, Arthur went to the other tigress's cage.
He immediately opened it and directed the tigress to come out.
It was probably jealous of the tigress playing with Amanda, so it jumped on Amanda's back, but with its legs open.
"Ahh, look out, lady." Of course, that still made the old men panic. When the tigress was in a human stance, it was much taller than Amanda.
Amanda turned to look at it. She was surprised but immediately smiled because the tigress actually hugged her.
"Good, from now on, your name is Isla," she said to the tigress hugging her. She then continued while looking at the tigress behind her. "And you are Tiara."
"Wk-wk!" Suddenly the she-eagle chirped to Amanda.
The woman finally looked like she didn't know whether to laugh or cry. They are no longer just tame, but spoiled.
"You're Aleria," she told it.
The eagle finally calmed down even though it was still in the cage.
Arthur began moving into the other cages, releasing the two male tigers, giving each of them the names Nigma and Tora. As for that male harpy, he had given it the name Archer.
Followed by Nigma and Tora, he opened the cages of the two harpies. They chirped at him in thanks and then walked out of the cage. Once outside, they immediately spread their wings which could basically hide a human child.
Whoosh!
They flapped their wings, leaped into the air, instantly reached the same height as the wall and two seconds later, they were already taller than Amanda's mansion.
"They won't run away, will they?" Amanda asked as she approached Arthur.
"Maybe they'll leave here if we don't stay here too long, they'll look for us" Arthur replied, making Amanda smile wryly.
"There's still something I need to do with them," Arthur added.
Under Amanda's confused gaze, he suddenly stepped up and picked up an iron stick that the old men had just used to tidy up the ground.
"Is there a clearing behind the back wall?" Arthur asked the approaching Amanda.
"Yeah, but what do you want to do?" She asked, confused and doubtful.
"Teaching them a few things," Arthur replied vaguely.
When he stepped, all the tigers immediately followed him. The curious Amanda also followed but she signaled the old men not to come as she guessed from Arthur's expression that he didn't want them following him.
Arthur and Amanda walked around the mansion. Passing by, Arthur saw two young women in maid clothes and a middle-aged woman peeking through the window.
Amanda who also saw them explained. "The middle-aged woman is Uncle Joe's daughter and the two young women are daughters of that woman."
"It seems they have been working for your family for a long time," said Arthur.
"That's it," Amanda answered.
They arrived at the backyard of the mansion. It is more spacious there, has a very large swimming pool, two tennis courts, and a vineyard.
Behind them, there was a smaller gate. Arthur and Amanda exited through the gate, arriving at a meadow the size of twice a football field that might have been made to keep the mansion away from the grove behind.
The top of the hill was about seven hundred meters away and it was pretty clear because the trees weren't that tall either.
Maybe because of the colder air, the mansion wasn't built all the way to the top.
However, Arthur thought such a place suited him better. Meditating at night will be much more comfortable.
