Returning From The Magic World

Chapter 42 Discussion With Aunt

Arthur went straight to his aunt's house. When he arrived, he found his aunt eating alone in the living room.

Seeing him coming, she stopped immediately, waving her hand at him to tell him to sit in front of her.

"Are there really superhumans from the military?" She asked after he sat down.

"Yeah, it's just as I wrote, I need the strength to crush an ordinary human's shoulder just to injure his shoulder," Arthur replied.

"You displaying such strength, wouldn't that raise you under suspicion?"

"I do, but I think they just think I have some kind of trick. Of course, they might investigate what it is later. —Aunt, do you know of any military division that develops such things?"

"Probably the Military Intelligence Division, they have almost no oversight, plus they get a lot of outside funding."

"So the military also has an Intelligence Division, then how does it compare to the European Intelligence Department?"

"The European Intelligence Department is an official agency, but it would be more accurate to say it has a much wider reach. On the other hand, the Military Intelligence Division was originally established with the aim of supervising officers in the regions. Over time, it developed wildly, becoming a tool for certain generals."

"Sounds bad."

"Indeed, they are not being watched and no one is brave enough to question their work. If they now have some superhumans, I'm afraid some capitalists are also controlling them, who knows how much money will be needed to do that research."

"Then what is your plan?"

"I can't get too deep into their business. You know, if the monkeys get too panicked, they could just throw bananas at our house. Let's just wait and see!"

"Well, but actually, it doesn't really matter, whatever they create, it doesn't matter as long as our magic reaches a certain level."

Isabel smiled hearing that. She took his cup, drinking the orange juice in it.

"By the way, how are you and Amanda doing?" She asked.

"That went well, she agreed to help me." Arthur then explained the things he was doing with Amanda, that included the product they were going to sell.

As Amanda had said, Isabel seemed to be knitting her brows when she heard about the supply problems from Southeast Asia that might eventually lead to bribes.

It must be admitted that it is people like Isabel who make the world a better place, otherwise these developing countries will continue to experience the bad luck where their officials become the dogs of the capitalists here. Some who were unlucky were even attacked directly by the military.

Although such things are still there and quite a lot, they are very few compared to before 2000.

Maybe those people are not entirely good, but at least they point the world in a better direction.

However, despite knitting her brows, Isabel didn't bring up the topic. Maybe she had enough faith in Amanda after hearing Arthur explain that she didn't agree at first and then would try her best to minimize it.

"What do you think of that woman?" And suddenly Isabel asked a slightly confused question because her expression as she asked was a little strange.

"What do you mean, aunt?" Arthur asked back even though he knew what she meant.

This woman clearly wanted to tease him.

"To be honest I don't like her much, she is too arrogant. If you can make her your girl and make her an obedient woman I think I will be happy," she replied.

Arthur, "..."

"Oh right..." Arthur took out the necklace he took from Roy.

"It contains quite pure spiritual energy, even if it's little and it will run out in a day, if you're lucky, you can advance fast enough," he said, placing the necklace in front of Isabel.

The latter stared at the necklace with narrowed eyes, somewhat doubtful.

Taking it, she asked, "should I wear it?"

"No need, just hold it or put it in your clothes pocket."

"Okay, I'll practice now, tomorrow I still have to work." She stood up, tucking the necklace into her shirt pocket.

Whoosh!

At the same time, Arthur used wind magic to send the dishes on the table to the kitchen.

Isabel's green eyes stared at the dishes until they disappeared before looking up at Arthur again.

"Things are really easy with magic," she said.

"That's why you have to train hard," replied Arthur. He purposely did that to motivate her.

Isabel sighed while running her hands through her own hair before taking a step onto the stairs.

'Still a few hours before night.' Arthur leaned his back against the back of the couch, he glanced at the clock, thinking about what he was going to do for the rest of the day.

While he was thinking, Carla suddenly came out of her room.

She was wearing long jeans and a casual t-shirt, her hair in a high ponytail.

As she came down the stairs, she said "Arthur, can you accompany me to the salon?"

"Salon?" Arthur spontaneously touched his hair which was actually a bit longer than the standard size he liked.

"Okay." He finally nodded, thinking he also needed to cut his hair.

This could be said to be the first time he had gone to the salon with Carla since he entered adulthood.

Carla quickened her pace when she heard that and then she took out a key from her trouser pocket. That is Isabel's car key, but not her official car.

"You didn't steal it, did you?" asked Arthur.

"You don't need to worry about that, let's go!" Carla didn't answer the question.

Arthur shook his head, remembering that Carla was only a high school student so those mischievous traits had always been there.

He didn't comment, just followed her to the yard.

Apart from one official car which is slightly better, there is a local car which, although it has a nice design, is somehow less impressive. Maybe the effect of the cheap price.

Carla excitedly got into the driver's seat, even closing the door quite hard.

"Be careful," Arthur said as he sat in the passenger seat.

"Don't worry," Carla replied with an expression like she didn't care about his warning.
