Chapter 45 Amanda's Office
When Arthur arrived at the door of the room, the light had already disappeared, leaving only a kind of mysterious pressure.
He opened the door, found Isabel already standing. And she then jumped from her bed to the floor. The jump is high enough to jump over an elephant.
"Great," she said, filled with joy, as if she were a tiger that had gained a pair of wings, ready to hunt on land and in the air.
One thing that is quite interesting about her is a long lightning bolt that is wrapped around her body. It was like a living creature and like a docile pet, as if it would do whatever Isabel ordered.
Even among Great Spells, the one Arthur gave Isabel wasn't something simple, it was powerful and terrifying, the kind that would make the user invincible at any level.
"Congratulations, aunt! Now, you have left your mortal shell, becoming a completely different sentient being!" Arthur said, showing a pleased smile.
Isabel who was looking at him couldn't help but stare at the bottle in his hand. Since she had become a magus, she sensed the spirituality of the water in the bottle.
"What's that?" She asked.
"It's a magic potion, good for you!" Arthur handed the bottle to her.
She took it and opened it. The smell startled her a bit so she spontaneously brought her face closer to the bottle's opening.
"What is the effect of drinking this?" She couldn't help but ask again.
"There are a lot of effects, while not anything out of the ordinary, they are still something you will feel good about," Arthur replied.
Isabel who became even more curious finally took the cup on her bedside table, pouring the potion into the cup. Then, she started drinking it and soon she seemed surprised by the taste.
"It's delicious and refreshing," she said.
Arthur smiled at that. Concoctions aren't always delicious, most are actually something so hard to drink that it's easier to drink dog piss.
That certainly didn't apply to potions made by Arthur. First, he has recipes that guarantee the concoctions he makes will be absolutely delicious. Plus, hie spells weren't ordinary spells either, the magic potions he concocted were naturally different.
"How do you feel now?" Arthur asked after Isabel finished the potion.
The woman closed her eyes for a moment and took a deep breath.
"It's really comfortable, feels as if I've just been massaged by very skilled hands," she replied.
"The effect will continue to last for two or three days," said Arthur. "By the way, you can take a shower now!"
___
Arthur, who was confused about what he needed to do today, told Amanda that he wasn't going to school.
After knowing that, the woman suddenly told him to come to her office.
He thought it was quite interesting, so he left the house while his aunt was taking a bath.
He then went to the business center of Vera City by using public transportation.
It's an area filled with skyscrapers, one that's quite unique since many of Europe's major cities prefer to keep their old buildings.
When he got there, it was almost 12:00 noon, the employees who worked there were having a break, having lunch at the restaurants on the first floors of those skyscrapers.
There is a skyscraper that is quite striking, not because it is taller than the others, but because of its unique design. It has a shape like a banana or perhaps a rocket where the bottom is smaller than the middle.
At first glance, the skyscraper was indeed quite precarious, making those who saw it wonder if it wouldn't tilt or even fall sideways.
However, it has been more than seven years since the skyscraper has been standing and nothing has happened.
Being unique means being elite too. The employees who came out of the skyscraper seemed to have a higher level than the employees in other skyscrapers.
They are neat, clean, and wear nicer outfits, showing that they are more prosperous.
Of course, just because it is more prosperous, it does not mean that there are no complaints at all.
Arthur heard some of them say that they were still just capitalist slaves, living to enrich Amanda who was their boss.
He shook his head at what they were saying. Sure, it's a sad thing, but that's the world, too much space on the bottom and just a little on the top.
He then stepped towards the entrance of the skyscraper, attracting the attention of quite a number of people as he was clearly not an employee and too young to be a client.
The eyes of the security scanned his figure as he stood in the lobby, some might think he had something to hide.
On the other hand, he took out his cell phone after looking around for a bit. He called Amanda and it took about fifteen seconds before she picked up the call.
Then, he said, "Girl, I'm in your office lobby, everyone is looking at me like I'm a lost monkey, is this your welcome?"
People were immediately taken aback by Arthur's words, the same as Amanda elsewhere as her voice sounded like she wasn't sure what to say.
In the end, she just said, "wait there!"
Meanwhile, a security guard approached confused.
"Sir, is there someone you're looking for?" He asked, still maintaining politeness.
Of course, no one could conclude that it was Amanda who had called Arthur. Many women work here and this place is practically their office.
It's just that Arthur's way of speaking was somewhat impolite, he was too young to call a woman a girl.
Some people think not only was Arthur being impolite, the woman he called was impolite too.
They concluded that Arthur was impolite because the one who invited him spoke as if this skyscraper was her own home.
Arthur glanced at the security, he calmly replied, "Your boss!"
The security was naturally surprised by Arthur's answer, but at the same time, he accidentally looked at Arthur's cellphone screen and found a phone number with Amanda's picture on it.
Although this is something that can be manipulated, but who would do such a thing.
Meanwhile, the main elevator which could only be used by executives suddenly opened and Amanda's figure stepped out of it.
She was wearing a knee-length skirt plus a professional shirt and high heels while her hair was in a neat bun.
Amanda looked around and once she found Arthur she smiled faintly, like she was about to laugh.
She walked over to him and said "sorry, sorry, really have a lot of work today! — But anyway, I'm sure you haven't had lunch yet, there's a very delicious meat restaurant in the building next door, how about we have lunch first?"
