Chapter 889 Aunt Sassy To The Rescue.
Chapter 889 Aunt Sassy To The Rescue.
As massive as the Chaotic figure had become, it was instantly dwarfed by the serpent head that appeared to be the cause of the shattering of the field it had created.
The aggressive hiss that sounded had of course been produced by the serpent whose emerald green eyes were starting coldly at the Chaotic figure who dared to breed thoughts of infecting her Master's beloved daughters.
"Sassy!" Nellie called out from behind with a smile that looked a tad disturbing due to the blood seeping from her orifices (nostrils, ears, eyes, and mouth).
Sassy gave Nellie a side eye that shut her up even though she continued to grin in confidence.
"Step back, Sylvie, I'll handle this," Sassy said and a cold smile split her gigantic maw.
Sylvie nodded and floated quietly back to rejoin her Sisters while Sassy returned her full attention to the Chaotic figure that moved a gigantic step back,
"Han- Handle me? Who do you think you are?" it said and only now looked past Sassy's gigantic horned head at her body that stretched behind without an end in immediate sight.
*Spoothhh!*
A tiny green arrow formed in front of Sassy's head and whizzed with incredible speed to strike into the Chaotic figure before it could react.
"This- can't- stop- me" the Figure strained to say.
"It will," Sassy said simply and coldly as the poison in her arrow spread all about the figure's body, and in a second, it disintegrated to green mist... Green mist whose every essence was destroyed to the point where a journey to the Nether realm was no longer on the cards.
While the Sisters all gaped at the ease with which the Figure they had struggled against had been destroyed, Loretta finally stirred from her comatose state immediately after which she looked widely for the Chaotic figure.
When she did not see it, she was at first confused but all that confusion left when she laid eyes on the gigantic Serpent head.
"Aunt Sassy," Loretta said quietly.
"You pushed yourself too hard," Sassy said warmly before turning her eyes to the pieces of the destroyed world floating about.
With power Sassy had a claim to by being the Familiar of the Sapphirine Prince, she pulled all those pieces together, reversed the damage done, and made the world anew only missing every single one of its inhabitants.
"Their lives are lost... There is no need to recover them. The Emperor will have the world repopulated in due time." Sassy said in a uniform tone.
By 'due time', she of course meant, immediately they left or at least close to that. This was not the first world to meet its end either by the hands of the Emperor's forces or by selfish wars the worlds in Nirvana occasionally decided to wage on each other and so there was already a protocol in place.
Sassy glowed so bright, the Jade maidens, all who possessed at least Mid-World god realm cultivation, had to cover their eyes or risk going blind.
When the glow faded out, they reopened their eyes to see Sassy in her humanoid form with a scowl on her face.
Sassy's skin remained as silky looking as it had been years before but there was a sort of maturity in her eyes despite the ageless look on her face. As though she had been forced to grow up most likely to have the mental capacity to scowl at her Master's children and reprimand them when they did wrong.
Sassy had emerald adornments ingrained all over her skin to further give her an exotic look but anyone who knew her well enough knew those emerald adornments were the epicenter of her scales should she want them to appear.
Rather than being naked as she would have preferred, Sassy was scantily dressed in a garment that while flimsy, still held the regality expected of the Cosmic Emperor's right hand.
"You were careless," Sassy said.
"Careless? We were totally out of our depths. Being careful would not have helped us win," Thereze said.
Sassy's bright glow had not only been to transform but had also cast healing energy over them all to heal them of all their injuries and cleanse them of all Bloodstains which meant, that they now had the energy to bitch about their circumstances... At least that was the case with Thereze.
"It won't have helped you win but it would have helped you survive. You allowed yourself to get trapped," Sassy said calmly.
"Survive how? Father won't let us call for reinforcements," Appoline said.
"You didn't need reinforcements to escape," Sassy said.
"You think we should have run?" Sylvie asked quietly.
"Yes, you should have run the moment it was clear you didn't have a chance against the enemy. You were relaxed with the thought that the Emperor's eyes are always on you and when it all eventually goes to shit, he would swoop in and save you," Sassy told them.
"But he did. I mean, you're here," Nellie said.
"Not the point. What if he didn't? Every member of the Emperor's force has proved their capability to handle tasks given to them or to at least survive to deliver the news of their failure so they could one day try again.
You all have the opportunity to have been born or raised in a time when his magnificence had been established and that has made you complacent," Sassy said and the Sisters all bowed their heads with no retort.
A few moments of silence passed and then Sassy continued,
"Complacency is a dangerous trait to have when you face the enemies the Emperor still needs to put down.
Anyway, I'll let him tell you the rest," Sassy said with a sigh, and with a wave of her hand, she opened a portal that she ushered the Sisters through.
It took only a step through the portal and they were out the other side to their destination. The journey, if made at the highest speed any of the sisters currently had would take hundreds of thousands of years and that was with no pause in between but that journey was cut shot to a single second.
There was no trick to it... No extra time had passed while they took that single step through the portal and the journey was indeed instantaneous because space or time had no meaning to the transportation channels created by the Cosmic Emperor.
Regardless of distance, the journey would always be instantaneous.
The ladies who had stepped through the portal were all very much exposed to this situation already so did not have a special reaction to it, however, when they did arrive at their destination, the Jade Maidens could not help but smile brightly.
"Home," Sylvie said, and in that second, she and her sisters forgot the scolding they were about to receive.
The Nexus world; The homeworld of the Cosmic Emperor, the Sapphirine Prince, from where he dished out orders and ruled over Nirvana and the Mortal realm seamlessly.
Once upon a time, before Sylvie, Appoline, Thereze, and Nellie were born, the Nexus world gained its name for its two Nexus stones that, once claimed, would give its wielder(s) control over faith harvesting of the Continent the particular stone pertained to.
To take control of the world, The Cosmic Emperor destroyed the two stones and replaced them with his Devil seed after which he tied tens of thousands of worlds to himself to form the region in the Cosmic Realm now known as Nirvana.
At the moment, the Nexus world had its name 'Nexus' by being host to Hal who was the Nexus of Nirvana with plans to eventually become the Nexus of all three realms.
In the Seven hundred years that had passed since the Cosmic Emperor took control, the Nexus world had prospered, now becoming a treasure trove of cultivation resources with an abundance of Cosmic energy.
Discovery of and subsequent insights into Ordinances had become as easy as going cross-legged and taking a deep breath to be immersed in the abundance of the Ordinances in the very atmosphere of the Nexus world. Although gaining insight early still required talent that only the very best possess.
The rule of the strong was still very much in place. Wars still occurred among those who wished to claim authority from those they felt did not deserve to hold it but of course, none of them would dare set their sights on the Emperor or they would risk losing their lives the moment the thought came to mind.
The most peaceful part of the Nexus world was its very center, Sapphire City, which held the Central temple of the Sapphirine Prince and the Cosmic Imperial Palace.
If there was ever a denizen who wished to live a simple life safe from power struggles, all they would have to do was relocate to Sapphire City, dedicate their every living thought to the Sapphirine Prince within his temple and they could live peacefully all their lives.
Sapphire City was a war-free zone as per the promise Hal had made to the City long before he ever took over control of the world and made them the distinguished capital of his ever-expanding Empire.
