Chapter 238 The Egg Of Cleopatra
Meanwhile, in one part of the city, two beasts collapsed to the ground, as soon as a youth with achilles gold hair appeared in front.
With his hands placed inside his pocket, Vernon glanced at the beasts briefly, before moving his gaze to the far distance.
A bone-chilling then emerged on his face, and taking a step forward, he spoke.
"I know you're around. Come on out, let's end this quickly, then we can both be on our several ways." There was a slight neck crack from Vernon after he spoke.
However, after he spoke, there was no response from the other side.
In fact, apart from Vernon, there was no sign of any living being in the surrounding, yet Vernon was very certain that there was someone or rather something watching him.
"You have to count to three, if you still don't reveal yourself, I will slaughter those kids of yours," Vernon stated.
His body excluded killing intent after he spoke, and even though the figure in the surrounding wasn't aware of who Vernon was, it didn't dare to underestimate his ability.
Slowly, a kangaroo appeared in front of Vernon.
There was a fierce look on the kangaroo's face as she stared at Vernon, and after seizing him for a few seconds, the kangaroo spoke.
"What do you want, human?" The disdainful voice was evident from the kangaroo as she spoke to Vernon.
An arrogant air filled her body, and as she continued to seize the plain-looking Vernon from top to bottom, the kangaroo shook her head.
The look didn't go unnoticed by Vernon, he, however, simply brushed it off. Then, taking his hand out of his pocket and then putting it behind his back, Vernon spoke.
"I want the egg of Cleopatra."
While it was only a few words, the impact it had was massive.
The expression on the kangaroo became cold instantly. It illustrated that the egg of cleopatra that Vernon mentioned was no ordinary word or object.
The Kangaroo assumed a battle stance a moment after, "Who are you? And how do you about the egg of cleopatra."
"Who I am is of no use to you, what you should concentrate on is telling me where the egg of cleopatra is." Said Vernon as he stared at the kangaroo.
"Tell me where the egg is, and death won't be an option for you. I guarantee a happy and worrisome-free life as long as you hand over the egg of cleopatra."
Vernon added.
"And what if I refuse to hand over the egg to you," The kangaroo responded.
Vernon sneered, "Then you suffer a fate crueler than death itself." Vernon replied and then turned toward the baby kangaroos in the pouch.
Even though he didn't say a word, the look on his face as he stared at the kangaroos in the pouch, the mother kangaroo took multiple steps backward.
"Don't you dare!" The Kangaroo blurted.
Responding to the kangaroo, Vernon's lips curl into a smile. "It's only a matter of time before you lose one of them," Vernon said.
"The egg of Cleopatra,"
Vernon stretched his hand out as he spoke this time around. There was a serious expression on his face as he stared at the kangaroo in front.
The kangaroo took a step backward, the killing intent excluding out of Vernon's body was frightening. And even though the kangaroo managed to keep a straight face, it couldn't deny that it wasn't terrified.
"I will ask one more time, your answer will determine if you would end up like your colleagues or if you will live to survive another day," Vernon muttered.
A sneer appeared on Vernon's face as soon as he saw the puzzled expression of the kangaroo.
The kangaroo's face suddenly lit up, its mouth opened slightly, and it said, "No."
"Y-You… You can't have!"
Vernon smiled: "The three of them are dead." He stared with a look of mockery then on his face.
There was disbelief written all over the kangaroo's face, and the expression on Vernon's face caused the kangaroo to be deeply alarmed.
"That's impossible!!" The kangaroo exclaimed.
If Vernon, being aware of the existence of the egg of cleopatra had already raised his ranks above the others in the city. Then, as Vernon spoke about the three beasts, he was viewed in another spotlight.
"Who are you?" The tone at which the kangaroo used was different from it previous one.
As if sensing the change In their mother, the baby kangaroo on the couch went into hiding immediately.
Vernon, however, shook his head. "You're still not getting the point. Who I am is of no importance to you.
"The egg of Cleopatra is what should really be of importance to you." Said, Vernon. "After butchering those three beasts, I was directed to you."
"So, where is it?" Vernon asked.
"You will have to walk over my dead body if you want the egg of Cleopatra." The kangaroo stated.
Vernon's lips curled inwardly as he heard the kangaroo. "This was the same thing those three said, and guess what I did."
"I stomped over their bodies."
It wasn't even up to a second after Vernon let out those words, and he made a move.
Upon seeing Vernon stretch his hand out, the kangaroo glared at him, however, what happened after that act was a mystery to the kangaroo.
It stared at the three baby kangaroo that was now laying on the ground without any sign of breathing, and tears slowly left the kangaroo's eyes.
The kangaroo raised its head and glared at the figure in front.
When Vernon said that he would have the kangaroo suffer a fate that was crueler than death itself, he really meant it as seeing the baby kangaroo on the ground, the mother was broken.
"I will kill you!" The kangaroo exclaimed.
She was about to dash towards Vernon when he suddenly appeared in front of her.
Vernon grabbed her neck the instant he appeared in her front, and with a bone-chilling look on his face, he tightened his grip on it, and then snapped it.
As Vernon let go of the kangaroo, it dropped to the ground, close to the three baby kangaroo.
"Now that you have killed the four of them, what's next," A voice suddenly sounded behind Vernon.
Vernon knitted his brows as he heard that voice. He was about to speak when a door appeared in front of him.
...
