Chapter 311 - Medical Practitioner?
It was clear who the culprit behind all of this was. It was like they were howling to the whole world of who it was, for the bodies were enacted in front of Yukiho's banner.
Thus, the faction that seemed to be the most peaceful so far and aloof of the other's business caught onto the spotlight in a single day.
But amidst such chaos two people stared at the dead bodies in awe. To be more specific, they were staring at the dangling eyeballs which still had the red optic nerve attached to them.
"This is too good to be true…"
Irrespective of knowing each other's existence they both had their jaws slacking almost at the same time.
"It's too intricate. How can one even pull it out that way?"
Benton held onto his chin with widened eyes.
The tissues of the eyeball were quite delicate. Not to mention that the tissues of the eye socket were as susceptible to damage as them. The optic nerve were the one that connected them to each other which was in turn connected to the brain.
"Yet not a single injury, not a single scrap is visible to the eyes. It almost seems like a maanequere made of plastic. It is like a work of art!"
While the others had nightmares of it, Benton chose to admire it instead. He had seen too many deaths ever since his childhood to be fazed by it. They were strangers anyway, Benton had no attachments to them.
Benton was not a medical practitioner, but even he understood how difficult pulling off something like this was.
The others might be scared of grossing out of the event. But Benton, who had seen too many dead bodies in his lifetime, didn't feel any repulsion.
Klautz had just pulled out the eyes from the socket and he had done it in a casual manner. Never would he have thought that it would be such a big deal.
Even he had yet to realize how difficult it was. But Klautz had scrouged out too many eyes in his lifetime to be almost unconsciously proficient in it.
Benton's eyes traveled to the banner in front.
"It's under Miss Yukiho"
"Could Miss Yukiho have done such a thing?"
Everyone knew that in the team that had been formed it was the hell born who ruled as supreme commanders. Even if it was someone on the weaker side like Shizu, the fact remained the same thanks to the backing of the mercenaries. Thus such an act could only be done by Yukiho herself! It wasn't weird if the other second gen suspected her.
But Benton shook his head.
"That girl would never do something like this. If it has to be someone from her group then it could only be a newbie that is working for her."
"Is he a medical practitioner?"
It wasn't a secret that all of hell's medical knowledge had actually been derived from earth. Every now and then a new earthling would emerge from the tutorial zone with some form of new knowledge that had been discovered by the humans of earth in the last year.
In such a manner a one sided exchange of technology took place between earth and hell. Hell's situation was simply too dire and they had to spend too many resources on defences. Their money spent on other activities was negligible.
And why would they? When they had such a great gold mine in the form of tutorial zone?
No money was spent and no resources were used on research and development unless the topic to be researched was something indigenous to hell and cannot be found on earth. Several metals found in hell were native to the place.
And why would they? When they had such a great gold mine in the form of tutorial zone?
"If that's really the case then this is really a gold mine."
Indeed, irrespective of everything, these high skilled individuals weren't the best when it came to survival. They had a high mortality rate. For someone like them to come out of the tutorial zone itself was a big deal.
"Butler, can you look into the matter? I want to know who did this."
"Yes, young master."
At that point of time Benton didn't know that Klautz was behind the whole incident. But Evelyn did.
"I didn't know Klautz was so skilled with his hands."
Klautz had never meant this incident to be a secret. He had never intended to hide it from anyone. It was just that the other groups had no way of knowing.
But the same wasn't true for the Yukiho group. Every member of the group knew it and they couldn't help but shake in their legs with fear for they had to face the tyranny of this man every single day.
It was the last survivor that Klautz had left alive. He had spread the news like wildfire in the Yukiho group. After all, he had his own life on the line.
Each and every one was aware that the man who desperately went around dictating the incident was scared shit. He feared his death and this was the only leeway that Klautz had given him to escape alive from his grasp. Klautz had no intention of hiding it.
'If they do not respect me, then they better fear me.'
That was what Klautz had told Evelyn. For a commander had only these two means to control his soldiers and since the first way was not possible anymore considering Klautz standing as a newbie like themselves, Klautz could only resort to the latter.
Little by little the curiosity reached its peak. They weren't the only ones who were interested.
What a shame it was? How hypocritical humans are.. For the sake of quenching their thirst of curiosity they would even gulp down poison.
