Chapter 61: Chapter 61: The Perfect Night!
Song Yun was still reminiscing about Ye Qingqing's appearance when she was a child.
Ye Qingqing, on the other hand, was looking at Song Yun who was standing dazed in the bath and curiously nudged him, wondering if he had been stunned by the soak. Logically, Song Yun's physical constitution shouldn't be so weak.
Song Yun came to his senses and, looking at Ye Qingqing's naive expression, held her face and gave her a fierce kiss.
Ye Qingqing pushed Song Yun away, her cheeks, already slightly red, were now thoroughly flushed.
"What are you doing... Si Yi is still watching..." Ye Qingqing said coquettishly.
"Hehe, I've discovered something interesting. I'll tell you about it tonight when it's just the two of us," he replied with a chuckle.
Yuan Siyi certainly didn't want to be a third wheel here, so she greeted Song Yun and Ye Qingqing and went back to her room.
When they went to bed that night, Song Yun was holding a slightly tipsy Ye Qingqing.
Ye Qingqing was lying on Song Yun's chest, listening to the strong heartbeat coming from his chest, which made her feel very secure at that moment.
"By the way, you said you discovered something just now? What is it?" Ye Qingqing asked.
"I discovered that you have a black mole on your bum. Could it be from when I accidentally stabbed you with a pen when we were little, leaving a mark?" Song Yun asked softly.
When Ye Qingqing heard this, she stiffened as if electrocuted.
Song Yun felt it and held Ye Qingqing a little tighter.
"I can't believe you're the same little girl who used to follow me around and wanted to marry me when we were kids! If it wasn't for seeing that mark, I really wouldn't have believed it," he said.
Upon hearing this, tears involuntarily streamed down Ye Qingqing's face as she choked, "I... I thought you had forgotten about me... sob sob, I thought I was the only one who remembered that promise..."
"Silly girl, how could I possibly forget you? It's just that we hadn't seen each other for so many years, and on the first time we met after our reunion, you came driving a sports car, like a great hero riding on a magical cloud. How could I dare to recognize you then?" Song Yun murmured as he soothed her by stroking her back.
"Hmph! I thought you had forgotten about me at that time! All these years I've been worrying about how you were doing! I don't care, your not recognizing me at first glance, that's your fault!"
Having said that, Ye Qingqing bit down hard on Song Yun's chest.
As she bit him, Ye Qingqing cried once more.
So Song Yun had not forgotten her, he just hadn't dared to believe that her status had risen so high; Song Yun had always had her in his heart.
Realizing this, Ye Qingqing released her bite and took the initiative to kiss Song Yun.
...
The couple exchanged no words that night, leaving everything unsaid for the quiet of the deep night to carry.
It was the first time for both Ye Qingqing and Song Yun, and both gave each other the most sincere confession.
The next day, Song Yun was awakened by the ring of the phone.
He answered groggily, "Hello, who's this?"
"Cousin, it's your Jisheng here."
"Jisheng?" Song Yun woke up and, after pulling the phone away and verifying the number, he laughed and said, "Brother, what's up so early at eight in the morning?"
The caller was the son of Song Yun's uncle, named Song Jisheng. Song Yun's father had two sisters and one brother, forming a very harmonious large family. However, the two aunts lived out of town and only returned to stay for a couple of days each year during the New Year festivities.
Even so, the family bonds were very strong. When Song Yun got into college, Uncle Song specially prepared an 8,800 yuan red envelope for him, and later on, when Song Yun and Su Luting were short on cash, they would turn to their cousin for a little help.
"Yun, how have you been lately? Your Second Uncle and Aunt went on a round-the-world trip, and I haven't seen you come back for a reunion."
Song Jisheng asked with a smile, "Haven't you almost forgotten about your relatives?"
"Impossible! You all are the closest people to me; how dare I forget you...."
Song Yun replied with an embarrassed smile because the trouble the Su family had caused him was too much. He already felt powerless to deal with other relationships, and after splitting up with Su Luting, he immediately plunged into a crucial phase of improving himself, hence he had not returned home.
"Well, I've got a bit of a situation here and wanted to trouble you with it, so cousin wants to ask if you're well-off right now. If you're not, I won't bother you with it."
"I'm doing very well, just mention if you need money."
Song Yun now valued emotional aspects more, and as for money, it was just a series of zeros in his bank account.
"Okay, well... uh... I need some cash, quite a bit, 150,000 actually. But of course, you have to discuss it with Ting Ting first, okay? All the men in the Song family would consult their wives in a situation like this—out of respect for their partner. If it's really inconvenient for you, then I'll ask some other friends."
The Ting Ting that Song Jisheng referred to was Su Luting. At the time, Song Yun had considered Su Luting his future bride and brought her home to participate in the family dinner, so everybody thought Su Luting was Song Yun's fiancée.
"Ting Ting and I broke up. The reasons are too complicated to explain right now," Song Yun sat up and tucked in the blanket around Ye Qingqing as he said, "150,000 is no problem at all; when do you need it?"
"The sooner, the better."
"No problem, send me your bank account number, and I'll transfer it to you right away."
"Okay, we are family after all. I can't really say thanks, brother; it feels too distant. Next time you come over, let me know in advance, I definitely have to have a proper drink with you!"
Song Jisheng said excitedly after resolving the issue, but the tone of his younger cousin seemed to be that of someone who just broke up with a girlfriend he had been dating for three years, and was about to marry? What on earth had happened?
After hanging up the phone, Song Jisheng stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray full of butts. His eyes were bloodshot, his hair a mess, his facial stubble prominent, he looked very disheveled.
He had been borrowing money all of last night, and apart from a few very close childhood friends who had pitched in a little, the rest were all making excuses. Now that the issue was resolved, the tension in Song Jisheng had suddenly relaxed.
His brain had already started to signal it was time to sleep.
He lay in bed and just as he closed his eyes, he heard a notification on his phone.
Groggily, he unlocked his phone and saw a message from the bank.
"Your account ending in 6889 has received a deposit of 500,000, with a new balance of 612,511..."
What? 500,000?!
Who sent this to me?!
He quickly opened the mobile banking app and saw that the funds had been transferred from Song Yun's account.
My goodness!
He only needed 150,000, but his cousin had sent him half a million!!!
What was his cousin doing now? How did he suddenly strike it rich???
Shocked but also deeply moved, Song Jisheng vowed to repay the money within five years, no matter what. After all, Song Yun's money didn't come from thin air, and it was also about time for his cousin to get married. If there came a time when money was needed, he would definitely have to be prepared!
