Chapter 31 31. What Happened To Him?
[The Royal Academy]
"Miss. Aubry! Please Help!"
Jin ran toward the infirmary of the Royal Academy while holding Thomas in his hands.
He had set the return point inside the black box as the academy just in case.
Although holy magic and priests were used to heal the diseased and injured, medicines were still trusted by the most and were affordable for commoners.
Mia Aubry was the best alchemist and doctor in the Fluger kingdom and was appointed to the royal academy.
She had a major in fire magic and a unique physique which helped her to enhance flames in alchemy. Having some priestesses working under her, she was the best medicinal faculty the royal academy could've asked for.
"Miss. Aubry! Help!"
Jin entered the faculty of alchemy and infirmary with a bang.
"W-what happened?!"
One of the assistants looked at the horrifying scene of Jin and blood-drenched Thomas and asked.
"Quickly take him inside!"
A senior assistant, ignoring her junior's dumb question, quickly pulled a stretcher and took Thomas inside while casting primary healing magic on his body to stop the excessive blood loss.
"Jessica, Amanda, Isha, and Vina, quickly inform the master that we have an emergency. Specify 'student' and she will not yell at you, also bring the advanced spell scroll of healing, and bring the scissors and medical kits, quick! Quick! fast! Move!"
Jessica the previously questioning girl came to her senses and understood the gravity of the situation.
The way her senior managed the situation was admirable and she understood her mistake, but that was not the correct time to think, so she heed her orders.
Emma, who was the senior assistant was quite experienced.
Healing many people from different races and occupations like students, soldiers, and demon hunters, she followed her master for a long time and accumulated quite a lot of experience to be called a veteran.
"Oh goddess of Chastity, bring this child the blessings of your all mighty self, giving this child of yours a second chance."
Casting an advanced spell she had known for a long, she put forth her hands, pressing on Thomas' chest, and spoke,
"Bind!"
White chains of light bound Thomas' body and,
"Haaaaa!"
Thomas inhaled wildly and suddenly his body regained its color.
"Huff… huff… this should work for now…"
She breathed heavily as the spell took its toll on her body.
This was a special spell taught to her by her master, a one-of-its-kind spell. Used to stall time.
'Now, we wait.'
She looked at the door and waited for her master to arrive.
…
"Vina, bring the kit, Amanda the spell, I will call master, while Jessica will help you both, understood?"
Isha ordered without looking back and while walking at a fast pace. She was the second in the hierarchy, and others nodded to her orders.
…
After leaving the infirmary and walking through a paved path she reached an isolated area where there was a house that looked like a laboratory.
Knock* Knock* Knock*
Isha knocked on the door of the house.
"…"
After waiting for a second and not getting a reply,
'Ha… so I have to do this.'
Taking out a slip that was used for voice amplification, Isha shouted at the top of her lungs.
"Emergency! Mia Aubry! Quickly come out! Fire! Fire! Fire!"
It was a method used to enrage her master.
Tap- tap- tap-
Immediately she heard the sound of quick footsteps and stepped aside, away from the door,
Boooooooom-
"What the fuck do I have to do with fire?!"
A feminine voice that was mature and sweet but annoyed and frustrated was heard after the blast.
"Master! Emergency! A student is critical! He might die any moment!"
Ignoring the door which was blasted away and the beautiful garden's mess, Isha immediately grabbed Mia's hand and pulled her out.
The moment she heard about the student's condition she ignored the earlier prank of her assistant and without even a second thought she dashed toward the infirmary.
…
A woman with jade white skin, big bangs, and a curvy figure having purple hair and black eyes which enhanced her beauty entered the infirmary with a slightly raised eyebrow as she saw Jin in the corridor.
Her each move was filled with elegance and her waist swayed with her each step, like a pendulum.
Wearing a stained purple robe, and tying her hair in a ponytail, Mia started to check on Thomas' condition.
A frown appeared on her face as she saw Emma holding his life with the binding spell.
She immediately took a step forward and,
"Oh mother goddess, please bestow your blessings on this child of yours!"
"Flames of life!"
The chains disintegrated only after the flames touch Thomas' body. Those were her special flames, which brought warmth to the body of anyone on the verge of death and stopped the blood from flowing out.
A spell that she rarely used.
Thomas' body shook for a second before calming down.
As his condition got a little better, Mia and Emma sighed in relief.
This was Mia Aubry, the woman who loved to experiment with alchemy and treat patients. The reason why her robes were always stained was because of alchemy. Concocting potions, pills, and powders. Experiments to find the root of diseases and helping others was her nature.
The only problem with Mia was,
"Why the fuck you haven't healed him with an advanced magic scroll yet?! What have you learned in these years working with me?! Can't you do something this simple?!"
Anger issues.
She looked at Emma with an enraged expression and yelled at her.
If someone disturbs her while her research and experiments, unless reasonable, the person gets burned alive.
Although she is a good-natured person, she did not tolerate unnecessary people.
"The other-"
Emma was about to reply when-
"Master, here!"
Isha, Jessica, and Amanda entered the room and brought what they were ordered to bring.
'Thank you!'
Emma cheered her juniors and gave them a thumbs up in her heart.
The storage room was far away from the infirmary for advanced, and higher-level scrolls as they were never required to use them.
Scrolls are only used when healing magic from the priest or priestess won't work on the patient. The efficiency of the scrolls was higher and purer than the magic done by priests.
Thomas was on the verge of death, so the scrolls were required to save him.
A circle with black ink was drawn on the scroll.
Mia took the scroll in her hands and started chanting something, to which the scroll started emitting golden light.
And after some time, minor cuts on Thomas' body disappeared without any trace.
The bump of a fist also started to go back to normal.
It took several minutes as the healing started from internal organs, then bones, then blood, and then skin.
After half an hour, the circle on the scroll disappeared leaving the previous corpse like Thomas in a much better condition but still not fully recovered.
"Haa…"
Mia breathed heavily. This was after a long time that she used an advanced magic scroll.
Usually, those who were on the verge of death were left if not found useful. But Thomas was different as he was one of the geniuses of the royal academy. And it was her priority to treat the student.
Even if he was any other student, Mia would've done this to save his life, but there was another reason for her to worry.
'What the fuck happened to him?'
The students of the second-year prodigy class were supposed to arrive after a month, however, Thomas returned earlier and with a serious injury like that.
"Call the person with this student inside."
Mia was always so deeply into her research that she was oblivious of the demon hunting assignment.
…
Jin entered a room where Mia was sitting on a chair while her legs were crossed and sipping some tea.
Although she looked calm when she glanced at Jin, anyone could tell that she was looking for answers.
As she glanced at Jin almost all of her questions were answered.
His school uniform was tattered and drenched with blood that was slowly drying.
Dark circles under his eyes, his messed hair, and the exhausted body were in itself the answer to what would've happened.
"Take a seat, your friend is fine and is now treated for the remaining minor injuries."
A smile appeared on Jin's face and threw his body at the chair, while tears did not stop coming from his eyes.
After giving Jin a full minute to calm down, Mia asked.
"Now tell me everything, What happened?"
