Chapter 11: A Deal
Chapter 11: A Deal
Meanwhile, back from when Stella bumped into a man that she didn't even know who, Stella was now sitting on his belly as the other party couldn't help but let out a nosebleed seeing the 'two mountain peaks' obstructing his view.
He even thought that what was happening to him right now wasn't misfortune but a blessing in disguise. He really wished that something like this, the thing of bumping into a beautiful lady, would happen to him every day.
It didn't matter whether he was on the top or at the bottom, as long as he bumped into a beauty like this, he was more than satisfied.
"Perveeert!!!"
Sapak!
However, he was still enjoying the sight when he found a fist already coming towards his face. That being said, without having a chance to dodge at all, the other party's fist, landed heavily on his face that his head almost pierced on the ground just from the heavy impact.
With twitching limbs, only then did he curse the world again for the misfortune he was suffering. He was even wondering why did he wish for something like this to happen to him every day.
Without bothering herself from what the other party felt like, Stella immediately stood up indignantly cursing the world for her bad luck. However, she was just about to leave that darned place when the other party called out onto her while saying in coldness,
"Hey Missy, don't you think you need to compensate me?"
Blood was still gushing out from his nose but this time it wasn't because of the two mountain peaks, but because of the fist he just received.
So wiping the blood on his nose with the back of his hand, he stood up from the ground as he staggered. After which, his cold gaze landed on the other party as if a king, looking down on ant.
He was a feared existence wherever he went, even the so-called Royals and Nobles needed to regard him as something else if they didn't want to suffer their doom. When did he fall so low that this insignificant nobody was actually treating him like a pervert?! What even worse was that he was even treated as a punching bag. How could he tolerate something like this?!
And also, he had nothing right now, he desperately needed some money or sort of for the meantime.
"Oh? You're asking for compensation?" With veins popping out on her head, Stella sneered coldly as she continued, "Why would I give you that?"
"'Why would I give you that? You asked?" The man repeated those words with twitching eyebrows as he continued while pointing out his nose, "You've just hit me on my handsome face and now you're asking me why? It was already good for you that I turned a blind eye from you bumping on me and taking advantage of my body and here you are, being so heartless! Ladies nowadays really are shameless!"
"You..." With gritted teeth, Stella clenched her fists tightly as she found it hard to suppress her exploding temper. "Who's taking advantage of who?! Shameless bastard!"
With that said, Stella threw out another punch towards the other party's face as she couldn't hold back her anger any longer.
Sapak!
However, what she didn't expect was that the other party was really capable as well. She was still worrying that her fist might kill the other party since she let out a punch with an uncontrolled strength but never she imagined that her fist would be easily caught by the other party with just a barehand.
Shockwaves gushed out to the surroundings, trying to push everything in range.
At that moment, she realized that this person in front of her wasn't some kind of a random passerby.
"Lady Stella, this person isn't normal..." Sylva behind Stella informed her master telepathically. Though it seemed like it was a basic punch, her master's Strength stat wasn't something to joke with. For her fist to be caught by the other party was something that any normal Player could never do so easily.
Stella didn't reply to her for she already knew it herself. Instead, she retracted her fist and backed away a little before she stared at the man in front of her with great wariness.
"Who are you?" Stella asked. Her eyes narrowed a little trying to peer through the identity of the other party.
"Who am I?" The man asked with a grin as he continued, "1,000 silvers, and I'll tell you who I am."
"You..." Stella felt like the more he talked to the other party the more frustrated she would become. So without bothering herself talking with him any longer, she turned around and started her run.
The bodyguards might have caught up with her if she stayed there any longer.
"Hey, where are you going?!" The man called out loudly as he watched her leaving the area.
But seeing that the other party didn't care about him even for a little, there was really an urge in him to PK[1] the other party. So gritting his teeth, he followed her as he shouted, "Wait for me!"
He might as well extort some money from the other party.
"Don't follow me, you bastard!" Stella yelled back indignantly.
"How about this, I will chase away all those guys who are following you and you will pay me up!" The man offered, hoping that the other party would agree to it.
Hearing it, Stella halted her steps as she turned around to look for the other party who was just behind her of about 15 meters away. She then stared at him suspiciously, as she asked, "How do you know that I am being chased?"
The man who had just halted his step and was still panting, grinned a little as he replied, "I'm just great."
"You... ...If you don't want to answer me properly then goodbye!" Stella turned around but she was just about to run again when the other party spoke in panic.
"W-wait! I will tell you, I will tell you!"
With that, Stella turned around once again and what she saw was the other party's smug face. She forcefully stared at him as if it hurt her eyes seeing the other party.
"I'm a Hunter..." The man finally revealed.
"You're a Hunter?" Stella repeated those words as realization dawned upon her. Just knowing that the other party was a Hunter was enough for her to realize how he knew that someone was chasing her.
What was a Hunter? It was a Job Class that could improve one's five senses the more you were proficient in it. But this ordinary-looking man in front of her could tell that someone was chasing her. It wasn't something that a low-level Hunter could ever do. Just by this fact alone could make her nod in agreement.
"Then you're a pretty high-level one..." It was hard to tell whether Stella was asking or stating her guess but the man replied to her with a proud smile saying,
"A pretty high leveled one..."
"Oh?" Stella smiled as she thought about something and continued, "I will pay you 10,000 silvers if you help me escape from those people."
The man was taken aback by the sudden offer of the other party. He was the one who offered help at first, but now that he was going to do it made him reluctant to agree. But knowing that he was short on money, he couldn't help but agree in the end as he replied with a forceful smile, "Deal."
When did he become so low just to become a mercenary for others? Just thinking about it could make him feel lightheaded. But what else could he do? He was cursed by that darned 'Hidden Boss' who stole all his possessions. He couldn't steal from the other Players as well since everything he would steal would be transferred to the Hidden Boss instead!
Taking the highest level quest in this low-level city paid a little and took so long to complete while the monsters around the area could only give him a little money. He couldn't go to the higher level city since he had no [Angel's Wings] left, an item used for long-range teleportation. In times of poverty like this, being a mercenary of a young lady of a somewhat wealthy-looking family to have instant money was the best choice.
Just after the both of them agreed from the deal 'happily', several men in black came towards them and hurriedly encircled them as if afraid that they would escape.
The duo looked around in caution, but neither seemed worried. The man also appeared as if he was excited just by looking at his grin.
"Lady Stella, please come with us and don't make things difficult to all of us." One of the men in black pleaded.
"You want to get my princess?" However, instead of Stella, the man beside her spoke this time making Stella to be taken aback.
Who's your princess? Are you tired of living?
Nevertheless, Stella swallowed all her thoughts and her urge to smack the other party seeing the situation. So after the moment of pause, the man continued as he exuded out an incredibly strong suppressive aura, "Piss off!"
Those several men in black who were still having good postures the moment they had arrived, backed off a couple of steps as they all couldn't stand the suppressive aura coming from the other party. There was even an urge for them to kneel on the ground.
Even the other people around who were just passing by felt that they were going to die as they all shivered in fear.
"What's happening in there?!"
Those people who were a little far away had all made a commotion as they felt the incredible aura coming from that direction they were looking at. No one dared to go near as well to confirm what was going on, for they all couldn't even make a step forward.
But despite the commotion made by this man before her, Stella didn't even feel the slightest pressure at all. She really was taken aback by seeing this.
The other party's control of aura was so great and the aura he was releasing was incredibly strong as well. At that moment, Stella made a guess inwardly, "This person is a High Ranker!"
