Chapter 188 187: Price Of An Elemental Stone
'So that's another reason why the Underworld Emporium is so peaceful. Residents of various tiers can be found in the Emporium.'
Apart from the aesthetic and various activities which could be performed in the Underworld Emporium, there was another reason why the Underworld Emporium was regarded as one of the masterpieces of the Underworld- Peace.
There were very few places in the Underworld where one could find peace and did not have to constantly be on the lookout for any sign of danger. Killing, violence, stealing, raping, kidnapping, and all sorts of evil are the norm of the Underworld.
Finding something like peace, law, order, or whatever that was the opposite of evil, was like a fantasy, a dream, a delusion, and for most people… a wish.
But surprisingly and shockingly, the Underworld had a few places where one could rest and find peace. A place where even the weak could find peace… but not the poor.
The Underworld Emporium was one of the rare places which had a large population but was peaceful… and somewhat lawful.
There were few laws in the Underworld Emporium and one of them was the law against violence and killing.
Corey had read in one of the recorded books that the reason for the Emporium's peaceful environment was due to the absurd number of Underworld officials in the entire Emporium. The Underworld Officials were in strategic places, and the weakest were tier 2.
Not only that, the Underworld Emporium had so many cameras which constantly monitored every resident and even official that enters and exits the Emporium.
All these reasons attributed to the Underworld Emporium being a peaceful and lawful place, and from the words of the female attendant, Corey knew another reason for the peace of the Underworld.
'Since every resident from the three areas of the city of sin can be found in the Emporium, everybody has to be careful since one might not know the true tier or the power behind an individual.'
This thought crossed Corey's mind as he followed the female attendant who sometimes sneaked a peek at Corey's expression, attempting to discern what it was that her customer was pondering about.
'By the way, he's very handsome. I don't think I've met any other person that's as handsome as him.'
The female attendant thought as she sneaked another peek at Corey's handsome face. Although some females might have blushed while having dirty thoughts, the female attendant had none and maintained a professional expression throughout.
Meanwhile, Corey who was oblivious to the thoughts of the female attendant, had another thought regarding the Underworld and the Underworld Emporium itself, but he decided to keep his thoughts to himself.
'I wonder who or what group is in charge of the Underworld. Whoever is in charge, must be a very scary individual.'
Corey exhaled softly as he decided to end his train of thought, and just as he did, the voice of the female attendant reached his ears.
"Sir Smile Reaper. We've reached the store where you can buy the elemental stones. I hope you've enjoyed the short time you've spent in the Underworld Emporium?"
The female attendant spoke with a smile as she bowed her head slightly for a second before raising it.
Corey glanced at the female attendant for a few seconds before he looked at the shop in front of him, which read- [SHOP OF THE ELEMENTS].
"Thank you for your help. I appreciate it."
Corey thanked the female attendant who gave him a slightly wider smile in return then she thanked him once again before taking her leave.
Corey glanced at the female attendant for a few seconds then he walked into the store.
As soon as Corey entered, he saw a few other customers inside the shop who glanced at him before shifting their gaze toward the products they wanted to buy.
"Hello, Sir. What would you like to buy?"
A female voice flowed into his ears and Corey looked down, seeing a slightly short female a few meters away from him.
The female wore a red miniskirt with a white t-shirt on top. Her clothing giving Corey a slight view of her modest curves.
"I'd like to buy elemental stones."
Corey replied, his eyes moving away from the new female attendant's breasts.
The brows of the female attendant rose as she looked at Corey with a curious gaze.
'Does he have the money? Isn't he just a tier 1?'
The female attendant thought but didn't dare speak it out to not scare a potential customer away. If Corey did not have the money, then the guards and manager would kick him out.
It was not her problem.
"We'll have to see the manager for that Sir. So if you will, please follow me, Sir."
The female attendant spoke, then she walked towards a door. She knocked and a few seconds later, she opened the door, gesturing for Corey to enter. Corey entered and when he did, the female attendant closed the door.
Corey gave a glance towards the door, then he looked at his front where he could see a man in a navy blue suit with a monocle on his right eye. The man sat in front of a desk that looked like it was polished from rubies and diamonds.
He had multiple rings on his fingers as he placed his fingers inside one another, a solemn expression on his face as he shifted his gaze from a paper placed on his desk to Corey who was looking at him with slightly furrowed brows.
"So Mr. Smile Reaper. I hear you want to buy an elemental stone?"
The man with a monocle, the manager, spoke with a questioning tone as he observed Corey with a solemn expression.
Corey who had taken several steps to the chair opposite the manager, stopped. And with squinted eyes, he stared at the manager, his eyes containing suspicion and confusion.
"How did you know?"
Corey asked with a slightly cold tone as he wondered how the manager could have known about him wanting to buy elemental stones since he knew the female attendant never told the manager about him wanting to buy elemental stones.
A soft chuckle escaped the lips of the manager and with a small smile, the manager replied:
"I hear everything that goes on in my store."
Hearing the words of the manager, Corey frowned.
'Record'
Corey tried to use Record but, no change occurred in his left eye.
'Of course. Just my luck. A tier 4 or higher.'
Corey's lips twitched then his eyes fell unto the three stars which were on the right side of the manager.
'And he's also a three star Underworld Official.'
Corey's lips twitched once again and he released an internal sigh of frustration while cursing his luck in the process. His gaze shifted towards the chair opposite the manager and with a stoic expression, he walked towards it and sat on the chair.
"You're right Mr. Manager. But I don't just want to buy an elemental stone, I want to buy elemental stones."
Hearing Corey's words, the manager raised his brows and his gaze towards Corey became skeptical.
"Do you know the price of an elemental stone?"
The manager asked and Corey nodded.
There was a reason why the first and second female attendants had skeptical and suspicious expressions whenever Corey said he wanted to buy elemental stones.
The price
The price of one elemental stone was high, so high to the point that 99.9% of all tier 1's could definitely not afford an elemental stone.
After Corey became a tier 1, he played two matches in the Amphitheater. One was against Jian and the other was against the mad arsonist.
And from those two fights, Corey has only earned five hundred points. Three hundred from his fight against Jian, and two hundred from his fight against the mad arsonist.
Earning five hundred points from just two matches, was a lot and was also something that would cause envy, greed, and jealousy to occur in the hearts of most tier 1's.
The average earning of tier 1's after a fight in the Amphitheater was a hundred value points.
But when it came to the price of an elemental stone, the amount Corey earned was simply negligible.
The price of one elemental stone was TEN THOUSAND VALUE POINTS!
And this price was the price of an elemental stone in the Underworld Emporium.
If it was in the E-Underworld, the price of an elemental stone was even more absurd, so absurd to the point that Corey had no other choice but to buy it in the Underworld Emporium.
The price of an elemental stone in the E-Underworld was a whopping, HUNDRED THOUSAND VALUE POINTS!!
Almost a THOUSAND PERCENT increase, compared to the price of the Underworld Emporium.
When Corey saw the difference in the prices, he was stunned and flabbergasted on the spot. Although he could buy elemental stones from the personal shop of an Underworld resident, unexpected situations might occur and he would attract unwanted attention due to his immense wealth as a tier 1 Underworld resident.
And the reason for the absurd price of an elemental stone was an interesting one.
