Volume 11, Chapter 20: Memory Illusion
Pushing open the door to the music room, the scene outside felt like a different space entirely.
What appeared in front of me was no longer the original courtyard, but what looked like the hall of some noble family.
Although the house looked a bit old, the interior of the house was decorated in a serious manner, and there were no fancy things, but the decorations related to honor were placed in a prominent place in the hall.
Although I don't really understand it, but this must be a noble family, otherwise they wouldn't place so much importance on glory.
It wasn't that the average family didn't want to be honored or anything like that, but for most people, it was better to have money than to buy more necessities or improve their quality of life.
The house had cracks that had not been repaired, but the trophies and medals were maintained so well, I can only say that the family has an extraordinary pursuit of honor.
And it was only when I walked into those things that I realized that the place I was in now was inside the house of the Canberra family.
"The founding marshal, Sidheas Campbell, has bestowed the name of Marquis on the family and its heirs for outstanding merit. En, I see, so it's a hereditary marquis ah, I was expecting to get a duke... Well, but since the other party's status still hasn't been raised it can only mean that the family didn't contribute much after that ah. En?"
Suddenly I heard a noise and took a closer look at the small map, and it seemed that someone was coming from the room next to the top. I ducked into the closet next to it and only looked out through a crack in the side.
"Hey, finally done with the work."
The door to the hall was flung open and a middle-aged man walked in.
But for some reason, I can't believe I can't see any information on this person's head, but this is an illusion, and what she's showing me is whatever that is, I don't even have a choice.
The middle-aged man looked around his house, sighed, and then headed upstairs.
"Master you're back ."
A woman who looked like a maid came down from upstairs and greeted the middle-aged man with a smile .
"We're already preparing dinner, so go upstairs and take a rest first, Master."
"Okay… that, Geraldine, she..."
The maid shook her head, as an answer to the middle-aged man.
"Miss is still in her room tinkering with that accordion, and I don't know..."
"Hey, let her be, she's just as sick as her mother."
The middle aged man shook his head as he said this, then walked up the stairs.
"Alright, I'm going to take a break first."
"Got it master."
Immediately after that, it suddenly turned dark outside and I was so shocked that I pushed out the door, but I found that it had turned dark outside.
I looked around for a while before I realized that this was a wasteland outside the capital, normally no one came here, except for the merchants who would pass by in the morning, there was no one here at all.
And just at this time, all of a sudden, I saw a short figure walking over not far away.
Fortunately, I'm not a lolicon.
In the spirit of helping others, I walked towards the young girl.
But...
The other person didn't seem to notice me and kept walking. And knowing that the other person had walked past me, I realized.
This little girl wasn't able to see me!
"Surely this is supposed to be just a memory?"
It seems that what I see before me should be a memory of Geraldine, expressed to me through a vision.
But why was it such a memory? What was she trying to tell me?
And at this moment, the little girl quickened her pace, rushed to the side of an old tree, and then pulled something out inside the tree hole.
This girl, obviously a noble in her family, what was she doing by herself in the middle of the night? And such a small person running out, this dangerous layer… really, what on earth was this family doing?
"Found it!''
Saying that, she strained to pull something out from inside the tree hole, and upon closer inspection, it was an accordion.
"Yes, yes, that's it..."
Suddenly, a figure appeared from behind the little girl and then floated to her side.
This girl was still a demon!
My goodness, did the original demon in Geraldine come out this early?
How come the church hasn't noticed after all this time?
It seems there must be something wrong at this point... Well, it's not something I can go strolling through, the church's problems are better left to their own.
But now the question arises what is the reason Geraldine showed me this memory?
"Through this instrument you can make the being feel the magic of your music."
The demon said to the little girl.
"It's simple, isn't it? Just pull this instrument by heart and it will play beautiful music straight out of the box, isn't it amazing?"
"Well, thank you sister~"
The little girl responded with a smile
Whoops, thankfully I'm not a lolicon.
"Well, now that I've done what I promised you, shouldn't you also fulfill your own vow?"
"Well, I'll tell you, I saw a little girl with a pair of white wings earlier, inside the church on the east side of town."
"Oh..."
The demon chuckled.
"Is it really there? But yeah, I can't see anything but that place… but I'm glad I know the exact location, or I couldn't stand it if the church went so much one by one."
She then turned to the little girl.
"Well, I'm leaving, you can go back by yourself..."
"Eh? But..."
The little girl tried to say something else, but saw the demon just fly away.
Ah, the demon was really...
Wait, white wings inside the church?
Is it Sally?
No way!
If it was Sally, she wouldn't be the right age.
But… this is the time to follow her and find out!
Thinking that, I was busy running in the direction the demon left, but soon after but the scenery around me actually started to fall apart.
Oh my god...
I laughed bitterly.
Surely this was just a memory?
