Chapter 18 Water Cultivation Domain
The tigers were known to be the most intimidating animals alive, after, of course, lions.
But none of our two gamers had ever encountered a lion in the game so they were unaware of a lion's pressure. Their main concern, for now, was the tigers.
"I do not want to face them because of their ability to intimidate their opponents, the first time I fought a tiger, I felt as if I was petrified when my eyes met with those raged eyes of a tiger."
"I understand you," Hitori sighed, "But," Hitori took a step forward, "We are duo players, not solo this time," Kamiya glanced at Hitori with motivation to fight the tigers in his eyes.
"Yes…" he followed Hitori, they both passed through the blue portal.
"Are you sure you want to do it alone this time too?" Hitori asked just to make sure.
"Hm." Kamiya pulled out his wand. He took his stance by pointing the wand forward.
Roar!
Now, this is what a real roar should sound like.
From the right side, two tigers appeared, three appeared from the left, four from the front. And one… from behind.
Hitori had already distanced himself from them. He stood near the portal which would send him back to the second floor.
Unlike the other times, Hitori was ready with his gun this time.
Although Kamiya's level was double the tigers' level, no one can tell when Hitori will need to save Kamiya from the intimidating tigers.
The tigers took small steps to get closer to Kamiya.
He moved around in circles by taking small steps. He noticed that the tigers had already formed a circle around him.
"They are… intimidating," he could not come up with a plan or a spell that would defeat these tigers. Or, his mind was not working right.
"Come on, Kamiya…" even Hitori who stood a few meters away from Kamiya, could feel the intimate wave from the tigers.
Kamiya held his wand without moving it even an inch, 'What do I do? I can not think straight,' he struggled to make a rational decision.
Meanwhile, Hitori pulled out his gun and kept it at the ready. The thing was, this gun could inflict damage of no more than forty [that too when it is a critical hit].
Whereas, if he uses water magic, it would inflict damage of more than twenty-five even as a normal hit, and double as a critical hit.
The chances of landing a critical hit always depend on the accuracy of the weapon you are using, and of course, your aiming skills.
Roar!
One tiger from the horde took a jump in Kamiya's direction. Kamiya on the other hand was still frozen in fear, he could not even notice the tiger behind him.
Hitori thought this might be the best time for him to test his new skill, "Mizu no Mahou: Hydro Pump!" a strong force of water erupted from Hitori's hands.
[HP: 72/75]
The tiger that had jumped in the air to attack Kamiya was assaulted by a strong force of water sent out at it under high pressure.
[-sixty! critical hit]
Hitori did not stop even when the tiger fell down, he attacked it with another wave of the hydro pump.
[minus sixty-two! critical hit]
[Killed a level nine fire tiger]
Kamiya finally snapped out of the intimidating vibe the tigers gave. After he snapped, it did not take both of them another minute to wipe off the tigers.
"Water pulse!" Kamiya pointed his wand at a tiger. Multiple sickles of water came out, the sickles wrapped themselves around the tiger on whom the spell was cast.
Hitori on the other hand completed another tiger. He looked around, not a single tiger was standing on its feet.
<Soul Liquefication>
Kamiya walked up to Hitori who was standing near the blue portal, "Thanks, friend"
"The hydro pump's recoil did cost me some of my health though,"
"That is why it is recommended for us students not to use these high mana costing spells so early,"
"Maybe the teachers should have taught us how to deal with the recoil?"
"It is safe to use a 'wand' sometimes here and there," they both walked towards the portal, "I can not believe you can cast magic spells without using a wand,"
"Talent," Hitori said indifferently. No, he was just kidding.
"What is on this floor now?"
"...goblins…" Hitori sighed.
"Really? Those insightful creatures?"
"Hm." Hitori took out his katana, "Sorry but… I can not stand them,"
"I can not either," Kamiya got his wand ready.
[Kill goblins: 0/10]
From every direction, goblins were spawned.
[Kill goblins: 10/10]
"Worthless creatures," Hitori put his katana back into its sheath.
"Insightful creatures," Kamiya put his wand in its sheath.
The same cycle of monsters repeated from the fifth floor onwards. Firedogs, high-level minotaurs, instead of tigers, there were fire wolves, and finally… those green, shameless creatures.
[Kill high-level goblins: 0/15]
[Kill high-level goblins: 15/15]
"Worthless, seriously,"
"Insightful, no kidding,"
"Well," Kamiya kept his wand to his side, "Ninth floors have tigers, I suppose?"
Hitori smiled, "Maybe," he shrugged.
Hitori was the first one to enter the ninth floor.
Kamiya followed him, "Where?" he glanced around, "...I have received no quest notification,"
Hitori could not control his grin anymore, "haha," he gave out a short laugh, "There are no monsters on this floor," he told Kamiya, "This is a checkpoint floor,"
"Huh?" Kamiya was prepared to face the tigers once again.
Just the thought of meeting with another herd of tigers made Kamiya nervous.
But when Hitori exposed the ninth floor's significance to him, he still could not believe it. "What-" he received the game's notification.
[Entered the checkpoint floor: 9/10]
A portal appeared, "Oh. I see," Kamiya sighed, "So this is that floor, well, dungeons rarely have floors like these, so I did not hope to see one in this low-level dungeon,"
Hitori calmly walked towards the portal, "The boss lies ahead, you ready?"
"Ah, yeah," Kamiya and Hitori entered the last floor.
Hitori looked on his left side. They were on the roof which was tarnished by… the bird maybe. Debris fell everywhere, rocks, stones, walls stood in the middle of the roof.
Hitori also noticed that the roof had been repaired automatically as if nothing had happened.
"So, Kamiya," Hitori asked, "What is the plan?"
