Solo Player Arvin

Chapter 129 - -42<Third-Floor-6>

Soon the day was over and night came. Arvin had erected a tent that he bought on the second floor. He thought that as the woman was still ill, she could use a good night's sleep in the tent. That tent was big enough for three people so the Tamaria could also accommodate her in the tent. While he could sleep out here.

While setting up the tent Arvin didn't forget to wear a ring on his finger. After all, he didn't want them to find out that he could summon items out of thin air. As this was a very special occasion Arvin took out the meat of the special creature that he hunted on the 1st floor. The Fierce bird.

Arvin wanted to try its 5 feet long drum stick for quite a time now. And this seems like an appropriate time. Arvin wanted to show the girl that although he is a wanted man he is not that bad. From this, he wanted to get on the good side of the woman. because if she or the girl turns out to be someone important, then they could help him to clear his name.

Arvin then took out cooking equipment and started preparing the 5 feet long drum stick. As he was preparing the drum stick he saw that Tamaria and the woman came and sat beside him…

Arvin was going to comment on how they could have helped him and all. But as he was going to say something, he felt a chill run down his spine. He then started sensing some strong mana signatures that were coming towards him and the camp. Arvin was going to tell the girls to get ready for battle. But he stopped in between when he saw a whistle hanging from Tamaria's neck.

Arvin instantly recognized the whistle. He had seen that whistle when he was going through the books of Martha and Stuart. Apparently like dogs, fennec foxes can also hear a high-frequency whistle. So they use this kind of whistles to call each other and send signals. Arvin had not seen that whistle in Tamaria's neck before. So she got the whistle a few moments ago…

Then Arvin sensed that high-level mana signatures stop around 120 m away from them and then they stayed hidden. Arvin could sense killing intent from these people directed towards him. While there was no killing intent targeted towards the girls. That meant these guys were here for him and not for the girls.

It was then Arvin started connecting dots. After all, it would be weird why some guys that were after the girls just a moment ago now want to kill him. It was then he finally connected all the dots and understood what was going on here…

"What the hell is that?" the woman asked.

"This is a leg piece of a Fierce Bird. It was a very large bird found on the 1st floor. I hunted quite a lot of them before I came here." Arvin said.

"You directly came to this place?" The woman asked sarcastically.

"No No… A guy helped me sneak to the second floor. And then from there, I came here." Arvin said.

"I speaking sarcastically." The woman said.

  "Oh," Arvin said.

"If you don't mind telling me what are you doing out here? I have lived in a world for far too long. And I have a very hard time understanding why a man like you is here helping us?" the woman said.

"It is not wrong to help a stranger. It is the noblest deed that anyone could do." Arvin said.

"Yeah… I am not buying that. You helped us because you need something from us in return. Spit it out, what do you want." The woman said.

"Are you some sort of bigshots that could give me money for your rescue?" Arvin asked.

"…."

"Thought so. I don't need anything. Wait I do need something. I want you to go and fuck up the so-called Aurora Clan. Those mother fuckers made my life hell." Arvin said.

"According to them, you are a very dangerous criminal that they want to be found alive. …  So what did you do?" The woman asked.

"NOTHING… That is the tragic part of my story. I did nothing. I collected some money and had my mana tested. The next thing I know is that my mana sensitivity is 1. And believe it or not that is the highest score that a person could have. And then I went to the jungle to train for 2 months. And then BANG…. I became a wanted man." Arvin said.

"That is it?" the woman asked.

"Yeah. The Aurora Clan ordered one of the prominent families of the 1st floor to be kidnap by and a man that helped me. They thought that I would be mad enough to go back there to help that old man…" Arvin said.

"Which you were not?" The woman asked.

"Oh no, I was… I went back. But a friend helped me." Arvin said.

"How?" the woman asked…

"After I got tested for my mana sensitivity, I was approached by a man. He asked me whether I was interested in working for him. I said yes… There he taught me some things which ultimately made me stronger. And when I got back and found out what happened, I was furious. I thought that first I should rescue the old man. It was then I found out that the old man was not a hostage. To lure me in they were treating him very nicely. So I left him there." Arvin said.

"Just like that?" The woman asked.

"Well, my friend assured me that he and his men would take care of the old man. And I trusted him. That is why I am here." Arvin said.

"Who is this friend?" the woman asked.

"Well for starters he called himself Bakemono. He said that he works for a guy that is called The Merchant." Arvin said. As the woman heard what Arvin said, it piqued her interest. So she thought that she should ask him more questions about the Merchant.

"Wait you said that you started working for this Bakemono guy… So wouldn't that imply that you are working for the Merchant?" the woman asked.

"In a sense…. But I am not officially hired…. You see according to Bakemono I am no naïve. So he said that if you can make it up to the 10th floor without his help and within the next 3 years then he would hire me." Arvin said.

"Huh?" the woman frowned.

"Yeah… That was the same reaction. But according to him, it would be very essential to do this as it would build my character. Could you believe that guy?" Arvin said acting naively….

"Did he tell you anything else about the Merchant?" the woman asked.

"No… But enough about me, tell me about yourself. I don't even know your name. What is your name? And I don't whether I should be asking this were any of your family members in the caravan?" Arvin said.

"No… They are all in the blue city." The woman said.

"Oh, that is good. I am glad that your family is safe… By the way, I didn't get your name?" Arvin said.

"It's Velma. My name is Velma." the woman said.

"Nice to meet you, Velma. So what does your husband do?" Arvin asked.

"I am single," Velma said.

"Really?..... I mean that is sad… What happened to Tamari's father?" Arvin asked.

"Tamari is my sister," Velma said.

"I KNEW IT!... I mean you didn't look that old. I mean I never guessed that you are a mother… You look very beautiful and and… And um… I mean you didn't look like you could have birthed a child. I mean it is not that you could have birthed a child… You would have made quite a good mother if you want to become… And And… DINNER IS READY!" Arvin said when he looked at the drumstick that had been roasted properly.

Velma looked that at Arvin who was carving the huge drumstick. Although he looked and was an idiot he was very strong. That is why when she woke up, she immediately used her emergency signal and called for help. Now her people were surrounding the camp and were waiting for her orders.

Velma had to decide what she should do with him. He was a famous criminal on the third floor. She did not know whether she could trust him or not. From the time being that they have spent together she had concluded that he was an idiot. But that idiot has saved her life. So she wanted to reward him.

But she didn't know whether she could trust him or not. In the end, she decided that she would decide what to do with him in the Blue City. There she would decide his faith.
