Chapter 56 – Took the Wrong Medicine (吃错药了)
Today, Xiao Haiqing put her hair up and wore a black coat. Even though she didn’t put any makeup on her clear white skin, she gave o? an air of maturity and a feeling of straightforwardness.
“I just went to draw some money so I’m a little late. Has Ye Qing and the rest arrived?” Jing Yunzhao frowned as she asked.
At the mention of them, Xiao Haiqing curled her lips. “No doubt! They came early and are gathered in the lounge. Oh yeah, when she came in she even asked me about you. She said that if we still aren’t full, she would treat us to some more dishes.”
What kind of person was this!
Xiao Haiqing’s original intentions were simple and never had plans to show o? any superiority towards Ye Qing and the rest. She just wanted to tell others that Jing Yunzhao was also not that easy to bully. However, this Ye Qing’s temper was also pretty bad. She kept ridiculing them behind their backs during these few days. Jing Yunzhao and Xiao Haiqing were not that bothered by it, but the other side was truly going on endlessly!
“Since she said she wanted to order a few more dishes, then why don’t we just go according to her intentions? Let’s go, we’re going upstairs,” Jing Yunzhao tugged on Xiao Haiqing’s arm and the both of them entered the glass doors once again.
Xiao Haiqing was a little distracted by Jing Yunzhao’s attitude but then roared with laughter.
Jing Yunzhao had never been so enthusiastic, what happened to her today? Did she... Take the wrong medicine?
Right now Jing Yunzhao’s face was all smiles. Her whole temperament had changed quite a bit. With an aura brimming with confidence, the arc of her smile brought along an overflowing scent of spring and sunshine. It was completely unlike the feeling of depression and coldness from before.
This change was all thanks to that 3 million yuan.
Of course, Jing Yunzhao was in no way satisfied with this sum. She just vaguely felt that with this new world opening its doors, she had to rush forward and put e?ort in places where it shone the brightest.
In her past life, she had always lived in the darkness, never having the chance to come in contact with the limitations of money or a profession she was passionate about. However, the gods had given her another chance.
She had the heaven-defying cheat that was her space. Within the short period of time that she had been reborn, her life had already been completely di?erent from her previous one. Up till then, she had the mindset of living her life as she went with the flow and live a better life than she had before. Today, that had all changed.
With just a meager amount of 3 million, it was not enough at all.
What she wanted was to live a real life filled with endless possibilities.
She had already died once, what else was there to be afraid of?
The moment the two entered the lounge, they were amazed by the luxurious design of the place. The restaurant itself consisted of more than ten floors. In the center was a shining pillar, the surrounding crystals reflected rainbow lights and overall, it gave o? a romantic feel.
Below these lights and within the lounge was an exquisite water fountain. There were even fish swimming about inside of it.
The lounge itself was filled with over a hundred tables. However, it did not give o? the feeling of being cluttered, but rather, it gave off the feeling of spacious tranquility.
The two tables that Ye Qing had reserved were not in a good location, or it could be said that it was located where many people had to walk past.
When seen from the railings above, Ye Qing’s table was visible and was in the line of sight of many others. However, in reality, compared with other tables, this location would make some people uncomfortable.
“Jing Yunzhao, if the two of you have nowhere to sit then just feel free to come here. Today is my birthday. On such a joyous day, I won’t pick a bone with you,” Ye Qing smiled when she saw them walk by.
She wore a pink winter dress on this day, matched with a short plush coat on the outside. This outfit was perfectly fine within the restaurant’s compounds, but the moment she stepped out she would be freezing cold.
