SPELLCRAFT: Reincarnation Of A Magic Scholar

Chapter 1400: Decapacitation

"It seems you guys are formidable after all. I'm going to enjoy killing the both of you," The fairy said with a wide smile as he pointed at the angel and the demon in turn.

He made a show of demonstrating how they were going to meet their end by running a hand across his neck.

Seated quietly and observing the spectacle, the old man appeared bored with what he saw.

"More proud words that you are yet to prove. It won't be long before you meet your end here."

Hehehehehe!!!

The fairy threw his head back and laughed at what he considered impossible.

"My end? Your confidence in your minions is truly admirable to be honest but I fear it's greatly misplaced. You all are going to die here," The fairy said to the old man with a sneer on his face.

"Surely, you must be tired of bragging by now."

"Bold of you to assu-"

~BOOMMMMMMMMMM!!!~

The fairy's words were cut short by the crushing blow aimed at him by the angel and demon at the same time.

Their perfect synchronicity made it seem like one was the shadow version of the other and the impact made the attack seem fatal.

The reverberation raised the dust around as debris flew everywhere and as the dust settled, the fairy was nowhere to be seen.

The old man stood up slightly and surveyed the area to be sure that he hadn't survived the attack.

There was a huge crater where the blow had landed and because of his height, the old man could see the interior despite his position.

It was also empty and he heaved a sigh of contentment.

There was no doubt that the fairy had been completely crushed into the ground and was lost amongst the rubbles.

It had all gone according to how he had predicted and he shook his head in amusement as he recollected the boastful words of the fairy.

He had really thought that he would put up a better performance to match his words and in a way, he was slightly disappointed.

"You two did a good job. That was well executed," He said to the angel and demon who were returning back to their station.

"Splendid! One would think they really did a good job." An unfamiliar voice said in a tone laced with mockery.

The strange voice came from behind the old man and he whipped his head backwards in surprise so suddenly that his body took time to follow.

"You. How…" He said with a stutter as his eyes met that of the fairy who was grinning at him and appeared to be very much unhurt.

"From the look on your face, you expected me to be dead. Sorry to disappoint you but I don't go down that easily."

The old man didn't reply him but his face morphed into anger.

Besides the old man, the angel and demon were taking turns staring at him and each other in surprise.

The fairy grinned at them. He was truly enjoying their reaction to his presence.

His mocking grin lingered as the angel and demon exchanged tense glances, their shock quickly giving way to determination.

~FWOOSHHHHHHH!!!~

Without a word, they leaped into action once more, their synchronized attack even faster this time, determined not to repeat the same mistake.

The angel's luminous wings glowed with a radiant light as he darted forward, sword drawn, while the demon summoned a torrent of black flames from the depths of his being.

They both ganged on the fairy, one attacking from above and the other from below him as he fluttered in the air.

But the fairy was ready.

With a snap of his fingers, an invisible force field surrounded him, absorbing the blows as if they were nothing more than gusts of wind.

The angel's sword clanged harmlessly against the barrier, and the demon's flames fizzled out as they made contact.

"Is that all you've got?" the fairy taunted, his voice dripping with disdain.

In a flash, he counterattacked. His body blurred, becoming a streak of motion as he moved between them.

The angel was the first to fall, slammed into the ground with a crushing force that left him reeling, gasping for breath.

The demon, despite his aggressiveness, was next. The fairy grabbed him by the throat and tossed him aside like a ragdoll, sending him crashing into a nearby pillar that shattered on impact.

The old man, now on his feet, watched in disbelief as the fairy dusted his hands off, his eyes gleaming with malicious amusement.

"You must be feeling pretty helpless right about now," the fairy said, turning his attention back to the old man. "Your prized minions... worthless."

The old man remained silent, his hands clenched tightly behind his back.

The angel struggled to stand, his wings trembling, while the demon coughed up blood, barely able to move.

They had given it their all, but it wasn't enough.

Satisfied that they wouldn't be able to interfere in the meantime, the fairy flew confidently toward the old man.

He placed his hand on it, his fingers running over the ancient, worn surface.

"Now," he said, his voice turning cold. "Give me the Arcana."

There was no response. The old man remained still and unmoving, as if mocking the fairy's demand.

His brow furrowed in irritation. He clenched his hand, and the stone cracked beneath his grip.

"I said…" His voice was a growl now, low and dangerous. "Give. Me. The. Arcana."

Nothing.

The fairy's patience snapped. With a furious shout, he slammed his fist into the old man, shattering him into pieces.

~BOOMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!~

Stone fragments flew everywhere, and the room echoed with the sound of destruction.

Dust settled around his feet as he looked down at the broken remains of the statue, his chest rising and falling with rage.

"Useless relic," he spat, before turning his gaze to the angel and demon. "Guess there's no point in keeping you two alive."

"Pathetic," He said as he watched them try to crawl away from him.

With a flick of his wrist, he sent their heads rolling away from their body amidst a steady stream of blood.
