Chapter 42: Talks and a Fathers Love

Huge thanks to Onyx, Burritobarbarian, and Thomas for buying my Patreon! It really means a lot to me! anyways, onto the story!

[3rd POV] [Mount Justice] [The next morning]

It was the next morning since the fiasco with the Lord of Chaos, and the Endless.

Currently, Gwen was still laying in her bed, having just woken up after her previous

assimilation and the shit that happened the previous night.

M'gann was still asleep, her face buried into her girlfriends neck, soft trickles of drool coming out of her mouth as she slept.

Gwen struggled not to laugh softly at the sight of her girlfriend drooling, but controlled herself, knowing that the Martian was exhausted, mentally and physically, due to the sheer amount of work they had to do the previous day.

'God she's adorable' Gwen thought with a fond smile, as she softly ran her hand through her girlfriends long red hair.

"Mmm" M'gann hummed in her sleep, leaning into the touch slightly.

Running her hand through her girlfriends hair, Gwen began to go through her new knowledge she had gained the previous night.

'Karate Kid...he is easily the best of those five. The sheer amount of martial arts this guy knew is genuinely impressive, surpassing even me in knowledge on martial arts. He wasn't a master of most of them, but he still had that knowledge. With that knowledge in my head, I can certainly master them to a much higher level than he ever could' Gwen thought with a happy smile, quite liking her new knowledge.

'Voldemort and Grindelwald aren't bad either. Both of them have a good amount of knowledge in magic, and had a good bit of magical power as well. That magic would be useful in the future, although, it wasn't much in comparison to the Chaos Magic that I got yesterday' Gwen thought with a hum, before contemplating the last two characters.

'Orochi and Kaku are both pretty decent. Not much in comparison to Yuujirou, but they had some new martial arts in their repertoire. Besides that, there isn't much else they really gave me...' Gwen thought in slight disappointment.

'System, go ahead and use another 5 of those UL tickets' Gwen thought decidedly.

Clarissa La Rue | Percy Jackson Universe [UL]

Clarissa La Rue, aka a demigod daughter of Ares, the God of War. A skilled combatant and figher, Clarissa was trained in camp Half-blood for most her life, said camp was where all Demigod's were trained. She has enhanced physical strength thanks to being a demigod and daughter of Ares, she can lift around 1 ton. She also has powers that are expected of a daughter of Ares, Including: Limited Necromancy that allows her to summon the losing undead from any war (on that world), Odikinesis allowing her to exercise limited control over the emotions of war, a powerful scream that causes pain and discomfort to others, limited pyrokinesis, and Telumkinesis. Telumkinesis makes her an expert in all weapon usage and grants some magical control over them (turning an arrow from a bow into rubber). She can even transform objects around her into any weapon/tool through sheer concentration (doesn't change them magically or anything), and even place curses on others weapons. Also includes all important/helpful pieces of knowledge.

Nathaniel Richards | Kang the Conqueror | Marvel Earth 6311 [SL]

Nathaniel Richards, aka Kang the Conqueror. A conqueror of Earth 6311 during the 31st century, he is one of the most intelligent characters in the entirety of Marvel. Having knowledge of immensely impressive technology, such as time traveling technology, weapons of various kinds. He has also made various breakthroughs in time traveling technology and robotics. While not as smart as certain other characters the user has, his knowledge future technology, is a great boon for the user.

Ra's Al Ghul | Demon's Head | DC Universe [SL]

Ra's Al Ghul, aka the Demon's head, and the leader of the League of Assassins. He is an incredibly old individual, with hundreds of years of experience. He has lived this long thanks to the lazarus pit, which revived him everytime he died. He is an incredibly skilled figher, who has fought on par with the likes of Batman. He is also incredibly knowledgeable, thanks to living for so long. He has knowledge on magic, alchemy, occultism, martial arts, medicine, and many many more areas. Includes all helpful/important knowledge. Daniel Rand | Iron Fist | Marvel Earth 616 [UL]

Daniel Rand, aka the Iron Fist. One of the most skilled martial artists in the entirety of Marvel, rivaled only by Shang-chi, Iron Fist is a masterful combatant with the ability to use chi. Due to defeating the mystical dragon Shou-Lou, Iron Fist has a monstrous amount of Chi, allowing him to do things a normal user of chi cannot do. One such way is the "Iron Fist" in which he imbues his monstrous chi into his fist, massively strengthening his strike, allowing him to do far more damage than before. Through his chi, he has massively improved reflexes, speed, senses, etc. He can even use his chi to heal himself quicker, and others. There are further uses that he has not mastered, such as imbuing his chi into ranged attacks, increasing it's power and turning it into a concussive blast. He is also a master of various martial arts and weapons, as well as meditation. Also Includes all his helpful/important knowledge.

Doma | Upper Moon Demon Rank 2 | Demon Slayer Universe [UL]

Doma, aka the third strongest demon, aka the Upper Moon Rank 2. A skilled martial artist and fighter, Doma is a masterful user in the tessenjutsu, which is a martial art used through a war fan. Besides the immense speed, strength, regeneration, etc granted through being a demon, he also has his powerful blood demon art. This allows him to create ice though his from his flesh and blood, and can spawn it anywhere in his vacinity, as well as manipulating it at will. This ice is also extremely lethal to those that inhale it causing the cells of the victims lungs to die and rendering them unable to breathe. Also includes all his helpful/important knowledge.

Kokushibo | Upper Moon Demon Rank 1 | Demon Slayer Universe [UL]

Kokushibo, aka Michikatsu Tsugikuni, aka the younger brother of Yoriichi, aka the second most powerful demon. Kokushibo, besides having the natural powers of a demon, is also a user of the transparent world, and has a demon slayer mark. A masterful swordsman, one of the best in fact, Kokushibo is a user of the Moon Breathing sword art, and the creator of said art. His blood demon art allows him to create and manipulate dozens of moon shaped blades from his katana. These crescent moon blades are chaotic and constantly changing in size, direction, and speed, making them incredibly unpredictable. This blood demon art greatly increases the power of his techniques, making every swing of his blade dangerous. He also can use this art without even swinging his blade, as long as his katana is out. Kokushibo's Blood Demon Art seems to have a secondary ability that allows him to manipulate the shape and range of his sword slashes when unleashing his Moon Breathing techniques. His slashes usually create and are surrounded by a red or orange crescent shape that carries his crescent moon blades. Kokushibo seems to be able to control said slashes to a certain extent, increasing their range and shape to attack his target in impossible ways under normal circumstances. When he distorted his katana into its branch-like appearance, his slashes turn into a light purple color. Kokushibo displayed the ability to exponentially increase the range of his sword slash with his Moon-Dragon Ringtail technique and shape his slashes into a circular drill-like shape with his Drilling Slashes, Moon Through Bamboo Leaves technique. Also includes all helpful/important knowledge.

'...Those are pretty good' Gwen thought with a small smile, happy with the characters she had

gotten.

Clarissa was good due to it granting her the potential of a demigod, which could have a whole host of new affects on her body, and her various energies. Especially aura, as it was tied to the soul, and her soul would effectively have a hint of divinity within it, through Clarissa's status

as a demigod.

Doma and Kokushibo were both great as well, mainly Kokushibo, as his blood demon art, combined with her swordsmanship, could become a great new weapon for her. Doma's wasn't bad either, but it wasn't really all that helpful.

Ra's was great for his knowledge in various areas, while his martial arts was...kind of useless. His knowledge on the inner workings of his League would also be great, especially considering the League is a major force even in this world.

Kang was great too, mainly due to his knowledge on future technologies, that could be a great boon for the future. While Gwen doubted it would be much in comparison to someone like The Doctor, she was sure it had some new technologies of use.

Iron Fist was perhaps the best of the bunch, mainly due to his knowledge on Chi, and his chi granted by the heart of Shou-Lao the dragon. This basically doubled if not tripled her chi and the amount she had. And on top of that, she now had the Iron Fist technique, which would allow her to drastically improve her striking power, causing more damage than ever before. 'Go ahead and assimilate them system' Gwen thought, bracing herself for the incoming pain.

Said pain soon came, with it being pretty easy to overcome, with the most painful part being the Clarissa assimilation, that new soul and change in essence of her soul was easily the most painful as the new essence of divinity was...different and powerful.

The change was noticeable, as her aura began to flare around her, as it began to grow stronger and stronger, even more pure than before, before it dissipated. Even her chi began to grow stronger due to this new influence of divinity, as her glowed with power. Her chest had a small glow as the tattoo that every iron fist had gained, glowed. It was centered around her chest, before snaking up in between her breasts, with the wings curving around them.

(Something like this, but the tattoo curves in between her breasts, while it's wing went arond

her breasts)

Soon the tattoo glowed and disappeared from vision.

Breathing in deeply, Gwen smiled happily at the new changes and new improvements. 'That

felt...great!'

'I guess the new addition of a small fraction of divinity, had this effect on my aura and chi' Gwen thought with a hum, knowing that Aura was effectively her soul, while chi was pretty much life force. Which being a demigod effected both of them.

'Hmm, my aura seems like it's quite a bit more...durable? Like twice as much. While it didn't increase in amount all that much, it can take more hits than before. My chi on the otherhand...seems more pure? It seems that it can do more now, without draining so much. Even my simple chi techniques should be a good bit stronger now as well, even without the new influence of Iron Fist' Gwen thought, before being cut off as she felt the blanket begin to

rustle around.

"Mmhm, G-Gwen? What *yawn* are you doing up?" M'gann muttered, as she sat up, rubbing her eyes with a yawn.

"Just thinking" Gwen said with a smile, as her girlfriend looked up at her.

"About what?" M'gann asked, tilting her head.

"The argument I am most likely going to be having with the League, considering I am

basically a pseudo Lord of Chaos" Gwen replied, a sigh escaping her lips. She knew it was only a matter of time before a member of the League begins to openly doubt her. "But you didn't do anything wrong? And so what if you're a Lord of Chaos? You're also Doctor

Fate, they should know that Nabu wouldn't still be bonded to you if you were evil" M'gann said, frowning at the fact that the League might begin to question her.

"Yes well, not all the members of the League are as smart as you, love" Gwen said with a smirk, pecking M'gann on the lips. M'gann blushed slightly before enjoying the kiss, their

tongues battling once again.

[A few hours later]

A few hours had passed since the two had woken up, and Gwen was already in the Watchtower.

M'gann was back at the Mountain, waiting with the rest of the team. They all wanted to know what the League would decide on.

Walking through the halls of the Tower, Gwen breathed in deeply as she stood in front of the door to the meeting room.

"You can enter" A voice sounded out in the room, causing Gwen to sigh and walk in.

The second she did, she was met with stares from every member of the League. The table was

completely full as every member of the League was present, all of them staring her down. "You understand why you're here, correct?" Red Tornado sounded out.

"It's because I got rid of Klarion, right? Zatara is afraid that I'm turning bad just because little Teekl is my familiar now" Gwen said with a mocking smile, glancing at Zatara.

"You have went against the very laws of the universe with your actions! Not only that, but you

are now a Lord of Chaos in every way that matters! How can we possibly trust you and your actions?" Zatara asked, looking to her.

"Well I don't know. Maybe because Nabu hasn't abandoned me yet? Do you really think, Nabu, the literal Lord of Order, would stay bonded with me if he didn't think I was trustworthy? And so what If I'm a Lord of Chaos? Am I doing anything bad? Have I killed any innocents? Have I betrayed any of you?" Gwen said, staring Zatara down.

"While you may not have done anything bad yet, that does not mean you cannot betray us in

the future. What's to say you don't go off the deep end and kill someone?" Captain Atom said, staring her down with a small glare.

Snorting at this, Gwen replied "If I was planning on betraying you, I would have left before this meeting even happened. There's a whole host of ways I could completely ruin the League, and yet I won't, why? Because I am a part of this League, and am quite fond of it. Even with

idiots like you being a part of it"

Captain Atom growled and was about to sit up, only to be stopped by glares.

"The problem is not you being a Lord of Chaos, as we know that if Nabu is still with you, then

you're trustworthy. The problem is that you have not only essentially killed Klarion, but you also did it without notifying the League" Superman said, stopping his glare at Captain Atom. Gwen blinked at this, as she began to realize where this conversation was going to go.

"Supe's, he's a literal Lord of Chaos, who kills others just for his own sick enjoyment, and you're telling me he didn't deserve it? Also, it was either I do this, or he continues to come back forever. I didn't tell the League because 1: It was hard to do so when we're separated into

two worlds, and 2: I knew you'd immediately be against the idea" Gwen replied, deadpanning at Superman.

"It's not your choice in whether or not he dies, Gwen" Dinah added softly. Gwen looked at Dinah in disbelief "He's killed hundreds of thousands over his years. He's also

a literal mortal enemy of Doctor Fate. Even without me becoming a Lord of Chaos, I still would have killed him, as is my duty as Doctor Fate. I'm not sure why you're defending a literal genocidal maniac who's killed hundreds of thousands. And what would you have done?

Locked him up? There's not a single prison in the world that would hold him. Even killing Teekl would have only been a short solution"

Dinah was about to open her mouth, before going silent. While the rest of the League was mulling over her words.

"Anything else? Or is that you're only complaints? I killed the guy because it was the easiest

way of saving people, and would save the planet from a lot more killings because of him. I'm

also quite certain he wasn't working alone, so whoever he is working with, just lost a powerful ally" Gwen added, looking to her dad who was silent. "...And what do you think your team thinks about this? That you've killed someone" "Well considering they are all waiting for me to return, and are being quite vocal with their

support of me, I'd like to think they agree with what I did. At the least, I'm 100% certain Kaldur, M'gann, Raven, and my little bro agree with what I did. Given Superboy's personality, he probably also agrees, while I'm not entirely sure on Artemis, Zatanna and Wally" Gwen

replied with a shrug.

"I think that's enough. We've gotten the answers we wanted, and all of them make sense. My daughter killed the man so that he wouldn't continue killing, she also did it as it is her duty as Doctor Fate. Had this been Kent, you wouldn't have questioned him nearly as much. Meaning,

this stems from your fear of her new title as a Lord of Chaos, even if she isn't the same as the others with the title. Most of your complaints are inconsequential, and pointless. My daughter is not someone who would betray us, she did was she did because it was what she

believed is right, and quite frankly, I agree with her decision" Batman said, glaring at Captain Atom who was about to yell at his daughter.

While killing wasn't something he was okay with, he knew that her position as Doctor Fate

made it so that such an action was needed, and must happen, especially to a Lord of Chaos. "Thanks pops" Gwen said with a smile, happy that her dad supported her, at least, in this instance. She wasn't sure if he knew about her other killings, but he probably already knows it was her, her killing Klarion with no hesitation probably cemented that in his mind. "I am also inclined to agree with Batman" Wonder Woman said, as killing, while not

something she enjoyed doing, she knew it was needed. She had been taught to kill since young, as did every warrior of Themyscira.

"As am I" Red Tornado added, nodding along with what Batman had said. Several others nodded in agreeance, including: Green Arrow, both the Green Lanterns, the

other Red siblings, and Aquaman.

"Anything else we need to speak on?" Wonder Woman asked, looking around the room.

No one said anything, causing Batman to nod "Meeting adjourned. And Gwen, come with me"

Gwen blinked before nodding. The first person to exit the room was Captain Atom, a scowl on his face, followed by Zatara soon after.

Following after her dad, the two made their way to the Zeta-Tube slowly.

"Where are we going?"

"The Batcave, we need to talk" Batman said, looking to his daughter as they both disappeared

with a flash.

[In the Batcave]

"So what's this about?" Gwen asked, looking to her dad as they walked to the main area of the

batcave. "Gwen...I know what you did" Bruce said abruptly, turning to his daughter as he took his mask

off.

Blinking Gwen looked to him, before sighing "You mean Joker?"

"And Wotan, and Bane, and all the others" Bruce said, looking at her, not showing any

emotion.

"So...are you going to take me in? Report me to the rest of the League?"

"No, I'm not going to do any of that. I just want to know...why?" Bruce responded with a sigh

of his own.

"Why I killed them?" Bruce nodded.

"Because they're monsters dad. Joker was a mass murdering psycho who was also a serial

rapist. Wotan was known for sacrificing people for rituals. Bane was trying to start up a drug trade that killed many people. All the others have done horrible things, not a single one of them deserved to live. And while I could have brought them in, what would that have done?

Joker would just break out again, and the cycle would continue, just as the rest of them would do the same" Gwen started.

"I know that you don't kill, solely because you wouldn't be able to stop once you start. You'd begin to slowly kill more and more, for worse and worse reasons, until eventually you'd kill for even the smallest crimes. I have the control to know when and when not to kill. Everyone

I've ever killed has deserved it, and you hating me won't stop me from killing scum like Joker

in the future" Gwen continued.

"And what about your alternate self? The Dark Lady persona you use" Bruce asked, causing Gwen to blink before chuckling.

"I should have known you'd figure that out eventually. How'd you know?" "The timing was too perfect. The killings were almost entirely in Gotham. You sometimes

disappear from the Mountain, only for the Dark Lady to appear roughly at the same time. You've cleaned up your cover, but in the beginning there was plenty of holes that gave me all the proof I needed to know that you are the Dark lady. You're developing more and more powers, so shapeshifting is not out of the realm of possibility" Bruce replied. Breathing in, Gwen chuckled "Yeah I wasn't the best in the beginning, but I got better. The alternate self is so that I can kill those that I wouldn't be able to get access too otherwise, simple as that. And again, I've only ever killed those that deserve it, you know that, if you've looked at the list" Gwen explained, knowing that it was pointless to hide this anymore. "I know. Everyone you've ever killed was the worst types of criminals. Rapists, serial killers, leaders of horrible gangs, and other types of criminals that would more than likely be put in

jail for life, or given the death sentence" Batman nodded, having thoroughly looked through

the

list.

"So...what now?"

"Nothing" Bruce said with a shrug.

"Nothing?" Gwen asked, confused for once in her life. She knew that the Batman of this

universe was...different, partially due to her influence, and partially due to it being a different

universe than normal.

"Nothing. I won't come after you, I won't stop you, and I won't tell anyone of what you've been doing, and have done. Unlike what you think Gwen, you are my daughter, and even you killing these...people doesn't change that fact. And while I won't lie and say I am okay with what you're doing, I also know that stopping you is next to impossible. I just...I just hope

you'll find it in you to trust more of your team. I'm quite sure that most of the team will be in the same position as me, or agree with what you've been doing" Bruce explained. "And I hope more than anything, that you'll...trust me more from now on" Bruce said, showing a slight moment of weakness.

Gwen on the otherhand, was looking at her dad with a smile, as she moved forward and captured him in a hug.

"I love you dad" Gwen softly said, hugging him tightly. The fact that her father didn't hate

her for her actions...nearly brought her to tears. The fact that her father trusted her so much,

even after finding out the truth...made her feel the warmth she had always missed in her previous life. The warmth that she had grown to love so very much, the trust and overwhelming love of...a father.

"I love you too...my daughter"

That's the end of the chapter!

Whoo! Batman knows! I planned on him finding out later, but I realized that this was a perfect

moment for him to confront her about it.

Not sure how well I did it, but I like to think Bruce's love for his family, would overcome the dislike of killing. Not to mention, Gwen hadn't killed a single innocent, and only ever killed truly monstrous people. Even the minor criminals she fought, were usually just beaten black and blue, instead of killed. Pretty much what he did to the criminals he fought. I've seen some...concerns around her getting the Doctor, which is entirely valid. But I'll try

and calm the concerns around getting the Doctor. 1: The Doctors actual powers are...kind of useless to Gwen to be honest. Her regeneration capabilities are already absolutely monstrous, allowing her to regenerate her entire body in quite literally a second if that. His "regeneration" wouldn't do much, as she'd just regenerate on her own without that. His regenerations isn't unstoppable either, neither is hers. She's already immortal, but certain things CAN kill her. Things like directly destroying her soul, destroying ever last atom of her form, and being killed by higher entities, like the Endless, embodiments of certain concepts, people like Lucifer, and plenty more can kill her. 2: His knowledge, while truly monstrous, isn't really usable to a good extent. She can't create shit like a Tardis, as the Tardis is made via forming literal dimensions, and the Tardis itself is basically Nigh-Omnipotent and a miniature universe in itself. Most inventions aren't entirely possible to make for her because of that. She can make a sonic screwdriver, she can make other inventions, but the truly insane shit, is far beyond her. As Momo's quirk cannot create shit like that. That, and how would she gain some of those materials? Quite a few materials needed for certain objects, is native to Doctor Who, and isn't something she can just create through Momo's quirk...yet.

3: He isn't even the smartest Timelord in his universe. That title goes to someone like Rani,

The Master, or one of them. He's more savvy and has a LOT more general knowledge. But most of the stuff he uses, is Timelordian technology, not stuff he himself has made. Not to say

that he doesn't have knowledge on how to create that technology, but still. 4: The system does NOT take inventions into account when spinning. It only takes power and

sheer damage output into account. If it did take inventions into account, then she wouldn't have gotten Reed, or Tony, or many other characters until far far far down the line. 5: She's smart, but physically she's still slower than plenty of characters. She's easily the smartest of my main characters, but they'd still have the potential to defeat her, entirely because she doesn't have the damage output they have...yet. She'll get insanely op within the

next system level or the one after.

I had the idea of her going to Percy Jackson to be interesting, but...I've never read the books

lol.

Thought it'd be a good world for magic, knowledge, and some materials she cannot get anywhere else.

Next chapter will be shorter, and will probably have the final 10 summons. Speaking of

summons, I got those characters and am pretty happy with it. Clarissa was an addition I made on recommendation from a reader on Webnovel, other demigods like Percy, Thalia,

Annabeth, Luke, etc, will be in the next system level.

Question: To those that know about Warhammer, are any of the Primarchs Urban level? As in

Building to Multi-City Block. The VS battle wiki say's some of them are (without boosts from

the Emperor and stuff like that).

I'm asking this because I've been interested in adding them, as they're pretty strong, and their genes are even stronger. But I don't know how strong they are. I know none of them are

even remotely close to the Emperor, and I know that most of them aren't psychics or

whatever, but I just wanna ask.

Anyways, have a good day, see you tomorrow!
