Stuck as a Villain!

Chapter 145: Showdown for love~1!

Chapter 145: Showdown for love~1!

Maydeath was someone who could be called a mysteriously beautiful flower whom no one dared to touch in the fret of being pricked by her thorns.

Her fiery crimson hair was the peculiarity that makes her stand out of the crowd and so was her unapproachable aura. Even this tournament meant a lot for every academy, the same for Carlesthine, Maydeath attended no meeting whatsoever until now. She was just told that she would not be performing in the first and second rounds and that much was enough information for her to know.

No one, including the headmistress of the Carlesthine Academy, could force her to do anything. Maydeath does not have a notable background but the strength she carries and the wide range of skills she has portrayed until now were highly desirable by her academy to put Maydeath under any forceful commands.

Standing proudly in the arena, most of the male populace could not help but feel themselves drawn to the girl who has appeared for the first time in the tournament.

She currently was wearing high-waist black pants along with a white shirt. Her curves, especially that finely shaped butt were making it hard even for the older males to keep their gaze in check.

Those fiery eyes contained nothing but pure boredom as she stared at the raven-haired boy walking out of the opposing team's stands. She was expecting someone else but alas, Maydeath had to throw a spectacle so 'he' could get the call.

"Miyuki."

"Long time, Keita."

It has been a long since Miyuki identified Mayu and Keita who was also part of the Pristine Academy. There was no harm in greeting a former classmate.

What irritated Miyuki was what followed.

"Can I request something?"

"What is it?" Maydeath had a feeling that Arata would say his life thing even though she declines so for the old time's sake she gave her affirmation.

Arata's face hardened, clearly not prepared for what he was about to say but somehow voiced out his request at the end, "If I beat you today, would you let me pursue you."

Called it. Annoying.

Miyuki's face evidently darkened at his words. Why not people understand that Miyuki is only made for Ryuuta and no one else? She could only be his and his alone. If there's any afterlife after this one Miyuki wants to spend her time with Ryuuta there as well. She loves him, adores him, worships him...then why this stupid male doesn't understand?

Wouldn't it be brilliant if he dies just here and now rather than harbor any ill feelings toward something that already belongs to someone else?

'But wait...this may be the best way to get rid of him. ' Miyuki knew she could not kill him for various reasons. And above all, Seth has strictly told her not to harm Arata needlessly.

Going through the pros and cons, Miyuki responded, "Even if I say no, it won't make any difference."

Arata's face lit up before the referee of the match stepped in.

The arena was more than six hundred meters in diameter. Enough space for the participants to dual comfortably.

There was a transparent barrier in the shape of the dome which would only appear if something or someone touches it. The barrier would keep the audience safe from any misaimed attacks and shockwaves of the battle.

"Hold your right arm in front." As told, Miyuki and Arata offered their right arms before the grey-haired referee tied something like a wristband with a silver and green orb fixed at the center.

"This is a protective artifact that would activate only if one of you is directed with any fatal danger. Remember, the participant using any attack which could kill their opponent would grant the offender direct elimination. Understood?"

Both Arata and Miyuki nodded. It was sad that she could not 'accidentally' kill Arata since she wants to face Seth in the battle as well.

"Now take your positions."

Stepping three steps back, both teenagers stood while facing each other. Arata had a look of determination, while Miyuki seemed unaffected, borderline bored.

Regardless, the referee shouted, "BEGIN!"

The match referee disappeared so did Arata but the latter sped up to make some distance from the girl as he wielded his long sword tightly in his clutches.

Miyuki remained standing just on her spot without mind what Arata had in his mind. It wasn't that she was overconfident in herself, rather Arata was too weak to bother with.

Unaware and unaffected by Miyuki's thoughts on him, Arata inhaled deeply before he used his primary skill, [Body Strengthening].

His muscles were filled with extra fuel, his legs became sturdier than before, his perception flared and his senses grew even sharper than before.

[Prepared, partner? Let's go! ]

The voice which only Arata could hear, shouted before Arata sped up from his spot but he didn't confront Miyuki rather he ran in a circle. The arena was wide enough to make many low-ranking warriors pant upon encircling the place twice or thrice.

But with each lap, Arata seemed to getting faster and faster. His figure almost blurred making many gasps from the audience. But what many have not noticed was the fact that slowly Arata was decreasing his circumference of laps. He was nearing Miyuki with each lap and only jumped to attack her when he was sure that he had at least made her slightly confused about his exact positioning.

His blade was held above his head, aiming for Miyuki's left shoulder to deal some heavy damage. His afterimage has yet to cease that kind of speed the raven-haired showed right now.

But to his utmost surprise, just when Arata was about to hit Maydeath, a pillar of flame rose high up until it was touching the roof of the barrier, obstructing Arata's vision. But Arata didn't stop there and facing the heat with just a small wince over his brows, he slashed across the flames intending to land a decisive blow on his crush.

But...

'Where... !!'

[To your right!]

The shout of the Thunder Emperor arrived a little late since the time Arata merely turned his head toward his right, scorching heat trusted to his face with a force which threw the sword wielder toward the other end of the ring.

That was not it, as the floor where Arata landed was already burning hot like he was above a lava floor which made Arata instantly rise from his feet, intending to escape.

"Not so soon~"The dangerously melodious voice of Miyuki reverberated before a gale of wind poured down on Arata freezing every part of his body which was coated in lava. The magma soon turned into a grey-white crystal, blocking Arata's movements.

Under eight minutes of the beginning of the match, it already seemed that the round had reached its conclusion. And the only thing that did not change was the expression Miyuki wore on her face.

However, she soon would change her mind related to a lot of things.

After all, the match hasn't come to an actual end, yet.
