Stuck as a Villain!

Chapter 156: Uninvited Guest

Chapter 156: Uninvited Guest

"Is that so? Well, congratulations."

Early in the morning, on the bench of the garden located on the east of the main academy building, could be seen two lovely girls currently wearing different expressions on their faces.

After Serena affirmed her relationship with Seth and realized that somehow he also likes her as a woman, the first thing Serena did was send a letter back home, and today, she sought the person whom she wanted to let know about the engagement as soon as she could.

Laila.

Serena and Laila have become great friends thanks to Arata who no longer hangs out with them. And through their friendship and the trust they have built for each other, it was natural for Serena to know about the affection Laila holds for her ex-fiancé.

Serena wanted to let Laila know about this firsthand, not because the blond girl was boasting here or wanted to make Laila feel bad, but rather because Serena didn't want to feel like she was betraying her senior by getting married to the man Laila adores, behind her back.

"You are sad, aren't you?"

Serena bluntly asked since the smile currently spread on Laila's lips was a little too stretched to call it natural. And being with the girl for months now, Serena could tell, when her senior was lying to her.

Laila's smile dropped slightly as with a sigh she accepted the fact that how bad she was in acting.

"Well, isn't it natural for me to be sad? If only I haven't strayed from my path then I would have gotten married to Seth after graduation."

It was a truth that more than half of the school knew.

Seth was a prideful man who tends to look down upon mostly everyone, including many of the professors. He surely has improved recently and his way of talking has also gave gotten a lot smoother. For example, the 'incident' that took place yesterday.

However, there was an exception to Seth's general wariness and that was Laila. The daughter of low ranking noble was offered to be wedded to the leading heir of the most powerful ducal house...indeed, one could guess how

strong Seth's feelings must have been toward Laila to convince his family to the marriage.

If only Laila wouldn't begin to show affection toward Arata or would have given a little more attention to Seth then the most plausible outcome would have been Laila's marriage to Seth in place of Seren.

"Now I wonder..." With her gaze filled with sorrow and a sad smile weakly lifting the edges of her lips, Laila continued, "...whether Seth would even look at me even if come across each other..."

"Of course, he would. President might no longer hold you dear to his heart as much as he did in the past, but still, you are his first love. And people don't forget their first love even if they try for their whole life."

Serena tried encouraging the downcast senior since it was too heartbreaking to see those sad eyes which generally remain cheery and energetic.

Serena could tell, how much Laila regrets her decisions and wants to be near Seth, yet she couldn't do anything to fulfill her desire.

"For you to say this even though you are now his fiancee...it takes a lot, Serena. So, thank you, and take care."

Serena received genuine gratitude from her senior before she got up and began walking toward the exit of the school.

From the looks of it, it doesn't seem Laila would be able to attend class anymore. And it doesn't take a genius to realize what she would do after reaching her dorm.

'If only I can do something... 'Serena muttered to herself as she gazed at the departing figure of her senior.

Around five in the evening, Seth returned to his mansion after a long day at the academy. To resign from his role as President, he had to lay the foundation for the next Council head.

Even if it's Ciel, she wouldn't be able to handle everything if delegated at once, and since there's only a month left before the nomination, Seth was seeking to finish as soon as he could.

"Good evening, young master."

"Evening." Lara, as usual, was standing near the entrance along with other maids who also greeted their master in unison after the head maid.

The diligent maid doesn't need to ask before she helped her master take off his coat, as she informed him of the content of the letter that arrived some hours ago.

"The reply from the capital has arrived, young master. The meeting has been arranged for tomorrow evening. The venue, Royal Palace."

Seth sighed at that.

Despite there being teleportation centers that could help him reach the capital in seconds, it doesn't mean Seth was so free of work to report at such short notice.

"Got it. Please serve something light for dinner and bring me a coffee in..." Seth suddenly felt something before he changed the content of his orders, "...in an hour. Don't let anyone in my room, Lara."

"Understood young master." Despite being curious about why her master just turned his head toward the first floor and seemed a little dazed, Lara didn't pry unnecessarily.

Seth didn't wait for long before he climbed the stairs and walked inside his room.

"I don't really prefer people barging in my room without permission."

His tone signified his displeasure to see the two women, intruding into his room without any prior notice.

Seth could sense the ominous aura surrounding Maydeath and Anabelle but that doesn't mean he was supposed to act all friendly and try to soothe their anger.

"I am here for some answers. I can't say about that woman."

"Hoh~Is that how you talk to your elder, Mayu-chan? Well, I am also here to ask you something Seth, if you don't mind."

It was praiseworthy how despite being utterly defeated by Maydeath, Anabelle still could hold her ground against her in terms of verbal battle.

'Better get over with this... '

Seth had loads of work that needs to be done tonight so he decided to jump on the topic they were so eager about.

"Yes, it's true. I am officially getting engaged to Serena and Princess Celine."

*Rumble*

It seemed that Seth's words were the trigger that needed to set off the sudden startling concentration of pure soul energy.

Desk, bed, stationary, and even Seth's legs were shaking under the effect but it was purely a physical reaction to the immense intent he was feeling from the two ladies.

Without a change in his expression, Seth flicked his right wrist after raising it and cast a heavy dose of [Lull] in the room.

The wave of the spell made the two girls fall to their right and the condensed Soul energy disappeared in an instant.

"Young master?!"

Lara arrived in the room...more like she broke through the closed door with her battle axe readied.

"It's okay, Lara. I am having some troublesome guests here. Please bring honey milk for both of them."

Lara identified Anabelle but she was unaware of the redhead. Regardless, the maid, despite seeming reluctant, obeyed her master's order and walked out of the room.

"As you wish, Master."

Undoubtedly, Lara just couldn't leave her master with some stranger that's why while walking outside a chant left her lips that would keep her updated even if any small spike in energy occurs once again.

'It seems the road for Professor Haruka to young master is getting more complicated with these many girls after him...' Lara sighed.
