Super Gene Ⅱ: Evolution

Chapter 309: Chapter 309: Market

During the following period, Lin Shen spent his time on Ring Mountain Planet hunting Supersource Dragons. He killed quite a few, including Supersource Pterosaurs and Supersource Triceratops, as well as a number of other types of Supersource Dragons.

Lin Shen noticed a pattern: Supersource Dragons like Pterosaurs and Triceratops usually had lower turns, with the majority being First Turn and only an extreme few reaching Second or Third Turn.

It was the same with Supersource Dragons that closely resembled dinosaurs; mostly First Turn with very few reaching Second or Third.

The less a Supersource Dragon resembled a dinosaur, the higher its turn count tended to be.

With enough observation, it became easier to identify Supersource Dragons with higher turn counts, like the Three-Headed Dragon, which certainly couldn't be of a low turn.

This made Lin Shen even more eager to acquire a Three-Headed Dragon as a mount, though the success rate for doing so was still not high enough.

Having killed so many Supersource Dragons, even trying to tame a First Turn Triceratops, succeeding once in ten attempts would be considered good.

Taming a Three-Headed Dragon was still an extremely low probability.

Tian Xun seemed very busy lately, having not returned for several days, causing Lin Shen, who was eagerly waiting for the Fire Seed, to become rather frustrated.

Once Tian Xun did return, Lin Shen asked her what she had been doing recently.

Tian Xun told him that she had been at Giant God Mountain as there were new discoveries and currently all three families were striving to conquer it.

However, unlike before, the newly discovered area was inaccessible to lower-tier creatures, and only those at the Nirvana Level could enter.

Lin Shen then understood why the offerings had been increasing so slowly lately, with only a sporadic few; it turned out that the Pioneer Corps hadn't been making significant moves recently.

On her last visit, Tian Xun took some items and then left, and it had been several more days since she had come back.

Sometimes Lin Shen couldn't help but think, if Tian Xun were to fall at Giant God Mountain, then he would have no hope for the Fire Seed.

"Tian Xin, your niece hasn't returned yet, isn't she going to say goodbye before she leaves?" Lin Shen happened to be out for a walk early in the morning when he saw Tian Xin carrying a lot of stuff, cramming them into the flyer. He thought Tian Xin was preparing to leave Giant Ring Star.

"Who's leaving? You wish, I'm going to the market below to sell some stuff. I wouldn't leave without kicking you out first," Tian Xin said as she continued to load her stuff.

"The market below? Isn't there a market on the Star Belt? Why are you going down there?" Lin Shen asked, puzzled.

"What do you know? Everything here on the Star Belt is high-end; nothing's remarkable, so even the best items don't fetch high prices. The market below lacks everything, and even though it's full of poor folks, you can actually get a good price," Tian Xin finished speaking and got on the flyer, leaving straight away.

Tian Xin's words reminded Lin Shen that he also had several Supersource Dragon pets on him that he was not using and could trade for things he needed.

Lin Shen thought about it and decided to take a look at the market as well.

Summoning the Evil Dragon, Lin Shen headed for Yu's village to first inquire about the nearby markets.

When Lin Shen arrived at the village, almost everyone had gone out to hunt, leaving only Yu tidying up.

"Lord Lin, you've returned?" Yu's eyes lit up when he saw Lin Shen, and his greeting had changed from before.

"Yu, just call me by my name. I'm not fit to be addressed with such honor," Lin Shen said.

"Nonsense, nonsense! In our human village, with the existence of you, Lord Lin, and Lord Ximen, we all feel proud. Now when I go out to trade with the other races, even those who used to look down on us show some respect. It's much easier to do business than before, and the things I buy back are also a bit cheaper. We don't have to spend a lot of money on little things anymore.

People from the village are also treated better outside, all thanks to you and Lord Ximen," Yu said with a chuckle.

Lin Shen was aware that it was indeed not easy for humans to survive on an alien world, and he was glad his fame could help others.

"Yu, have there been any newcomers teleported here recently?" Lin Shen wondered when Wei Wufu would be able to deliver the Primeval Eggs. He was eager to ascend.

Lin Shen estimated that Wei Wufu wouldn't be coming so soon.

It was because Wei Wufu didn't know about his use of the Base Mutation Pool. Under normal circumstances, it would not be so soon for Lin Shen to be fully mutated.

"I haven't received any notice from outside recently, nor have I heard of any humans coming over. Lord Lin, if you're waiting for someone, just leave word, and I'll have someone keep watch in the teleportation area. If your friend comes, we'll welcome him to the village first, and then you can take him up to the heavens when you arrive," Yu offered, understanding the situation well.

"That sounds good. My friend is called Wei Wufu, and among the humans, he's considered quite tall. He's a bit slow of speech, but you should be able to recognize him at first sight," Lin Shen said. Then, he pulled out something and handed it to Yu: "This is for your trouble. There'll be an additional reward after you've found the person."

"Lord Lin, how could I possibly take something from you..." Yu looked at the item in Lin Shen's hand, his eyes gleaming, yet he dared not accept it.

"Just take good care of the person," Lin Shen stuffed the item into Yu's hand and asked, "Are there any large markets nearby?"

"With just this many humans, we usually just trade useful things with each other. If you really want to buy and sell, you have to go to the markets opened by the foreign tribespeople..." Yu pocketed the item and cheerfully explained the situation of some nearby markets to Lin Shen.

"If you're looking for a variety of goods, you'll find them in the Pioneer Corps' market, which has all sorts of bizarre items. However, the Pioneer Corps usually doesn't stay in one place for too long, so their market moves around too. Recently, I heard it's near Giant God Mountain. And the Pioneer Corps is full of real desperadoes, so it's not very safe there," Yu added.

Lin Shen figured that made sense; with people from various races in the Pioneer Corps and exploring different places to pioneer, they must have many good items on hand.

After chatting a few more words with Yu, Lin Shen decided to visit the Pioneer Corps' market to see for himself.

Riding the Evil Dragon toward the direction of Giant God Mountain, he had been there once before, so he knew the way and arrived near the Giant God Mountain quickly.

He casually asked a member of the other races and easily found out the location of the market.

The so-called market was actually just a relatively flat area where anyone could set up shop directly on the ground.

This market was filled with small tribes of all sorts of bizarre creatures, which was quite an eye-opener for Lin Shen.

The goods they sold were also diverse, with some items that Lin Shen had never even heard of before.

After inquiring about the price of some familiar items, they turned out to be even more expensive than those at Yu's.

Lin Shen had thought Tian Xin might be here selling goods, but he didn't see Tian Xin anywhere. Instead, he spotted Ximen Swordsman setting up a stall in a corner.

Lin Shen glanced at the items on Ximen Swordsman's stall and was taken aback to see a Base Mutation Egg with a mosaic on it.
