Chapter 37
Raging Bear Energy
“Chief, they…” Shi Baqi sized up Wang Long and the meches in awe. He couldn’t sense any vital energy or internal force in them. However, their fierceness frightened him.
Around the entire City East, everyone knew the leader of the Sirius Gang, Jiang Li, had a group of powerful subordinates that killed without blinking like an army.
After seeing them so closely, Shi Baqi respected Jiang Li even more.
“Shi Baqi, what you need to do is to take Wang Long and the others to Stone Village and they’ll be responsible for the investigation,” Jiang Li said. “You don’t have to worry about anything else.”
“Yes, Chief. I understand.” Shi Baqi nodded.
“Go on.” Jiang Li waved his hand.
“Yes, Chief.” Shi Baqi left the compound with Wang Long and the meches.
“Wang Chao, Ma Han, do you know who in the gang has the closest relationship with the government office?” Jiang Li asked.
“Well…” Wang Chao and Ma Han shook their heads. “We’re not sure.”
“Go get Wang Pingyuan,” Jiang Li said.
“Okay, Chief.” Ma Han and Wang Chao nodded and left.
Half an hour later Wang Pingyuan arrived.
“Chief.” Wang Pingyuan quickly came up and bowed to Jiang Li.
“You two can leave now.” Jiang Li looked at Wang Chao and Ma Han.
“Yes.” Wang Chao and Ma Han nodded and left the Chief’s compound.
“Chief, how can I help you?” Wang Pingyuan asked.
“Are you close to the government office?” Jiang Li asked.
“Yes.” Wang Pingyuan nodded and replied, “Of course I am. The Quicksand Gang had ruled City East for so many years and we had to deal with the government office all the time.”
“Do you know Zhang Ling?” Jiang Li asked again.
“I do.” Wang Pingyuan pondered and answered without hesitation, “However, I’m not really close to him. Zhang Ling is the State Lord’s ‘advisor.’ He always gives suggestions to the State Lord.”
“Hm, I want to know where Zhang Ling lives and places that he always goes to,” Jiang Li said.
“I’ll check that out right now.” Wang Pingyuan was a bit shocked. “But it’ll take some time.”
“Get back to me before the evening,” Jiang Li said.
“Yes.” Wang Pingyuan nodded.
“Get going.” Jiang Li waved his hand.
“Yes, Chief.” Wang Pingyuan bowed and left.
“Is Chief planning to deal with Zhang Ling?”
Wang Pingyuan thought,
“Otherwise, he wouldn’t want to know such things.”
…
In the Chief’s compound, only Jiang Li and the meches were left.
“XX01, make a video call with XX02.” Jiang Li issued an order.
“Yes, Master.” XX01 walked to Jiang Li and stopped. “One energy point will be used every time we communicate and the call will last for an hour.”
After that the number of the energy points on the virtual window was one point less. XX02 used his ultimate wireless communication technology and turned on the wireless device on his back.
Buzz!
He raised his right hand. A watch then appeared and projected a clear real-time video in the air.
“Master, I’m already connected to XX02,” XX01 said.
“Master.” On the screen Intel Mech XX02 saluted Jiang Li.
“Tell me your current situation,” Jiang Li said.
“Yes.” XX02 nodded, then turned the camera to Wang Long, Shi Baqi and the other meches. “Master, we’ve just got out of the city gates and we’re on the way to Stone Village. We haven’t found anything special for the moment. According to our current speed and the information Shi Baqi gave us, we’ll be at Stone Village before the evening.”
“Okay.” Jiang Li nodded. “It’s not safe to go around at night. If you arrive at Stone Village after it gets dark, just stay still and continue tomorrow.”
“Got it.” XX02 nodded.
“If anything happens, contact XX01 immediately and report the situation to me.” Jiang Li continued.
“Yes.” XX02 nodded seriously again.
Jiang Li kept the video call going for a whole hour so he wouldn’t waste the energy point. When the time was up, the projection disappeared.
“The Raging Bear Paw.” Jiang Li took out a Martial Arts book and started reading. There were pictures and detailed descriptions showing the moves of the Raging Bear Paw and ways of practicing them.
Among them there were a large number of footnotes written by Heng Liusha himself.
A level-one advanced Martial Art. This was something Jiang Li got after he killed Heng Liusha. The Raging Bear Paw had the highest level and was the most powerful among all the Martial Arts of the Quicksand Gang. So Jiang Li abandoned the Bloody Palm and started learning the Raging Bear Paw.
In fact Jiang Li only practiced the Bloody Palm for a morning and hadn’t learnt all of it yet. During this period of time, Jiang Li also had no time for practicing, so he didn’t improve much.
“The Raging Bear Paw is fierce and powerful. I’ll be unstoppable like a bear when I attack. When I master it, I’ll be extremely tough, as if a bear is protecting my body.” Jiang Li read the book carefully.
“Besides, the Raging Bear Paw is a level-one advanced Martial Art. It’s much more powerful than the Bloody Palm and it’s more suitable for me. Let’s try.”
Jiang Li put down the book and adopted the posture.
Buzz! His vital energy vibrated and he posed like an angry bear. He activated his vital energy according to the book. His body shook and steam started to billow out.
Half an hour later Jiang Li had to stop, as he had used up all his vital energy.
...
“Continue.” Jiang Li took a Blood Energy Pill and started practicing again.
Time flew.
Jiang Li had been practicing the Raging Bear Paw for half a day, but he hadn’t mastered it yet. Instead, he strengthened the vital energy in his body. He could now try to reach the peak stage of the elementary level.
“Internal Energy Art.”
Jiang Li took a Blood Energy Pill again and performed the Internal Energy Art. The medicine spread all over his body from his stomach, enhancing his vital energy.
By the evening Jiang Li had taken a total of ten Blood Energy Pills and he finally reached the peak stage of the elementary level. His body was full of vital energy. His power and physique were also enhanced.
And yet, taking so many pills in a short period of time made Jiang Li’s vital energy and foundation unstable, so he had to practice the Raging Bear Paw immediately.
Half an hour later Jiang Li’s vital energy was stabilized.
“Bear Power Pills.” Jiang Li took out another bottle of pills, which was also from Heng Liusha. The “Bear Power Pills” were specialized for practicing the Raging Bear Paw.
Jiang Li opened the bottle. There were nine “Bear Power Pills” in total. He took one of them and immediately practiced the Raging Bear Paw according to the book.
Boom! Boom! Boom! His vital energy surged and he growled. The medicine in the Bear Power Pill ran through his body, gathering all of his energy.
...
In the end, Jiang Li took three “Bear Power Pills,” and finally learnt the Raging Bear Paw and formed the “Raging Bear Energy.” He now knew a powerful Martial Art.
