Supreme Emperor of Mist

Chapter 3: Changshen Dew

Chapter 3: Changshen Dew

"Praise the Sect Leader!"

"An eternity of glory and respect to the Sect Leader!"

"Our Kuangshan is truly blessed to be the place Lu Sect established their foothold."

Million of praises are heard daily across this piece of vast mountain prefecture of Kuangshan.

For what reason?

It is because the number one sect of the continent, the Lu Sect, is established at this place. Some called it the Kuang-Lu Sect, Mist Sect, or even the Lan-Lu Sect. But at the end of the day, only one single word is all they need to stand out from the others.

Lu Sect, written in the word of "Dew."

Although the Sect Leader wasn't the strongest cultivator at that time, he was the most respectable one. He held the title "Supreme Emperor's teacher" at that time, along with other unworthy titles like "Grandmaster of cultivation," "father of the Supreme Continent," and so on.

The Kuangshan was also said to be baptized by him from the first stalk of grass. All the way to the river, mountains, canyons, mist, and the air. The effort took no less than a thousand years and close to twenty-five generations of disciples.

His name is Qin Lan.

But no matter how glorious is the Lu Sect, no one is capable of withstanding the corrosion of time. Be it the Lu Sect, Kuangshan, or even the first Supreme Emperor.

It was said that the legacy of this place and the continent, last for 30,000 years before everything turned into ashes and restarted elsewhere.

...

...

Qin Lan struggled to open his eyes the moment he came back to his sense. Feeling like he's been having a long slumbering dream, his body is now too weak for him to even lift a finger.

But his hearing was as sharp as he remembered.

"He's now a cripple. I suggest that we'll keep him away from the public and let him live inside the manor until he passed away. I believe he has not many days to live anyway." the voice of the third elder came into his ears.

(This old fool still hates me that much because I did not save his fourth grandson's life. How can I help him when both of us are almost bitten to death by that Jade Snow Tiger?)

"Where is Qin Yuan?" the patriarch asked. He was the eldest amongst all of them, and are also the blood-related siblings to the four other elders.

And out of his four sons, two died in the fight to protect the Fu-Rong Town, with the youngest, Qin Xuan, is currently an elder of a sect nearby.

Qin Yuan was the third son of the patriarch, Qin Tian. But because of a tragic incident that happened fifteen years ago, he's now under house arrest and only allowed to move around the Qin Family Manor.

He fathered two sons and a daughter.

Qin Fan, nineteen, and Qin Chan, seventeen. Both of them was a favorite disciple of a respective elder like their fourth uncle, As for Qin Lan, he was the youngest amongst the three siblings, fifteen years old.

"The third master is still hiding inside the stone forest and did not take a step out. We're unable to convince him to come here." the butler answered Qin Tian's question without any excitement nor disappointment in his tone.

"Ai..." Qin Tian rubbed his hand on his forehead.

"Second brother, what do you think?" with his hand still on his face, Qin Tian asked for the first elder's opinion.

"In my opinion, the suggestion made by the fourth brother is so far the most plausible option we have. I believe all of us know that Lan-Er is not a cultivator quality. Instead of continuing to waste the resources enough for five disciples, why not we use it to train five more potential cultivators?" the first elder said.

(Yes, why not!)

Qin Lan wished that he could laugh right now. But he prevented himself from doing what he's thinking.

(What about I stop taking the coins grandfather gives me daily, so you could use them when you're visiting the brothel and spread your seeds further out of our Fu-Rong Town?)

As for the second and fourth elder, they're not interested in giving out any opinion.

(Third Granduncle and Fifth Grandaunt are still angry at the family for ignoring their family many years ago...)

The discussion between them was heading nowhere. Ending without finding a method to solve this issue, Qin Tian waved his hand outward to signals the end of their meeting today.

"All of you may leave." Qin Tian ordered.

"Servant understands," the servants bowed or kneeled as they excused themselves from the Qin Family Hall. Returning to the back of the hall, Qin Tian arrives at the room where Qin Lan is lying on the bed.

"Lan-Er... My Lan-Er... Your grandfather is useless. I've let you suffer again like ten years ago when you and your fourth cousin about to be mauled to death by the Jade Snow Tiger..." Qin Tian adjusted the blanket slightly as he whispered.

"Grandfather..." Qin Lan's voice brings a little light back to Qin Tian's gloomy mood.

"Lan-Er?" Qin Tian immediately checks the pulse of his grandson. After noticing that his grandson is somewhat malnourished, Qin Tian immediately ordered the butler to prepare something light for the stomach for Qin Lan.

"How many days have I slept?" Qin Lan asked.

"Two weeks."

"What? Two weeks?" Qin Lan cannot believe it. But at the same time, while he felt surprised, fragmented memories seems to be slowly appearing inside of his mind and assimilated with his current thought.

Suddenly, Qin Lan felt that a lifetime's worth of experience returned to his mind like it was locked away for an eternity.

"Is there something wrong?" Qin Tian asked.

"Nothing, grandfather. It just I remembered there's something I forget to do. Perhaps, I can accomplish it this time as I'll have more time staying in the house." Qin Lan replied to his grandfather.

"En. Just stay in the manor for now. Your grandfather will not give up until I found a way to allow you to cultivates again. You won't be like this for long!" Qin Tian said.

"I'll go and issue a request for... Ahem! Ahem!"

**Cough**

Qin Tian coughed out a mouthful of blood as the butler returned to the room with a wooden tray and a bowl of soup on top.

"Master!" he put the tray aside and quickly fed a medicinal pill to Qin Tian. Looking at his master nervously, Qin Lan had the urge to sigh about his helplessness.

"If I could still sense some Spiritual Energy, I'll be able to help grandfather. But now, I guess everything has to wait until I prepared everything I need to restart everything."

"How can my reincarnation gets worst each time I awaken?" Qin Lan quietly sighs without letting the two notice what he was doing.

...

...

Qin Lan suggested that he return to his own courtyard the next morning. And with Xiao Yun added to the list of servants attending Qin Lan in person, Qin Tian could felt much more at ease.

But what happened next puzzled both Xiao Yun and Xiao-Ke.

Qin Lan ordered Xiao-Ke to move him outside of the room every day for a whole week without fail. From how they see it, their young master developed a liking to stay covered in the misty morning.

And they practically have no idea about what their young master is trying to do.

"Ai... If it wasn't because both of their cultivation is too weak, my recovery process would be even faster than this." Qin Lan, who's now with part of the memory fragment of the Lu Sect founder in his mind, sighed.

In his hand was a pill bottle with a few ingredients inside that could be formed into a precious medicine as long he put enough effort to keep it going.

Seven days is what he needs to concoct this bottle of precious elixir known as "Lu Sect Changshen Dew." But in terms of effectiveness, This seven-day brew barely reaches a-hundredth fragment of what it is supposed to be.

"Broken spirit root, cracked bone foundation, flesh curse. And now, a destroyed core. The body of this reincarnation is much worst compared to when I am still the Sect Leader of Kuangshan Lu Sect." Qin Lan inspects his own body by feeling his own pulse.

"Furthermore, the ingredients that used to create the Lu Sect Changshen Dew is either extinct or had its medicinal effect thinned to a mere grass on the forest path... And a suitable condition to recreate the mist of Kuangshan is no longer exist..."

"Ai..." Qin Lan shook his head.

"I guess two years is quite a rush for me to return to the world of cultivation," he said.

**Drips**

A drop of the Lu Sect Changshen Dew is finally formed within the pill bottle. An aroma of three flowers and six herbs struggles to seeps outside of the bottle to search for the path of escape.

But with a quick lift of his hand, Qin Lan poured the drop of Changshen Dew into his mouth and savored the taste he missed for an unknown number of years.

"Not bad... Although it was just a hint of the flavor, it is better than none." Qin Lan smiled. The flavor of the elixir started to turn into warm energy with a gentle but powerful force as it repairs the wound caused by the flesh curse.

The effect only lasts for a little more than five minutes, but these five minutes were more beneficial than resting and cultivating for a whole month.

"Three more... Three more drops, and I'll be able to restart my cultivation, starting with the Kuangshan Lu Sect's Mistral Foundation Art!" Qin Lan's eyes revealed a hint of confidence as he customized a cultivation path that's unique to him alone.
