Supreme Uprising

Chapter 1241 - Nantuo City Lord

Chapter 1241: Nantuo City Lord

Yuan Monarch... The newest member of the alliance was a Yuan Monarch!

There were mixed reactions amongst the Yuan Venerates present. Some looked joyously at him, while others eyed him suspiciously.

That was right, there was suspicion. These martialists felt threatened at the prospect of having a Yuan Monarch join their ranks.

If the masters were Yuan Venerate Rihui or Yuan Venerate Yueyao, then they would still feel as though they had some decision-making rights of their own. With the addition of a Yuan Monarch, however, many of them felt as though they were going to end up becoming the subordinates of the Yuan Monarch.

To be honest, they really did not want to end up becoming his subordinates or leave him in control of their lives.

Yuan Venerate Xuanjing had a clear understanding of the situation happening right before him and had already made preparations for a situation like this. “Everyone, I must say that it is good news that Yuan Monarch Luo Yunyang is joining us,” he said as he stood up.

“What we need most right now, is the leadership of a Yuan Monarch! Just before all of you came over, an envoy from the Dakongfan Sect paid a visit. They want to have a Wanfan Assembly and request that we rely on Yuan Sage Wuxiang from the Dakongfan Sect! Tell me, are you willing to become the subordinates of Yuan Sage Wuxiang?”

Hearing news about the Dakongfan Sect was a first for everyone present. However, several of the people present felt overwhelmed with anger upon being asked to serve as Yuan Sage Wuxiang’s subordinates.

Even though they were Taiyi Yuan Venerates, they too had previously been taken advantage of by the Dakongfan Sect.

Besides being famous for its martialists, who had a high cultivation level, the Dakongfan Sect was also well-known for producing tyrants. Those who opposed the Dakongfan Sect would be oppressed regardless of whether they were right or wrong.

This alone was enough to infuriate anyone!

However, just the reputation of the Dakongfan Sect was enough to make these people suppress their anger without showing it.

Everybody knew that the subordinates of the Dakongfan Sect had all been eliminated during the last great catastrophe.

“The Yuan Monarch has already managed to repel the Dakongfan Sect, but we will still eventually have to get over the issue with Yuan Sage Wuxiang during the Wanfan Assembly. If we are unable to deal with Yuan Sage Wuxiang, then we will really end up having to serve the Dakongfan Sect.”

Yuan Venerate Xuanjing’s words were a wake-up call for everyone who had initially been worried about losing their freedom. Upon hearing that, they all began pondering their next move.

“I have no objections about letting Yuan Monarch Yunyang be our leader, but can Yuan Monarch Luo Yunyang give his word that he will actually try his very best to ensure the benefits of the people here?”

“Yuan Monarch Yunyang, now that Nantuo City has encountered some difficulties, what should be done from your point of view as the leader of the alliance?” the Nantuo City Lord asked.

“Right. This matter should not be delayed any further. Yuan Monarch Yunyang, what do you think should be done about this?” Another person chimed in, agreeing with him.

Deep in his heart, Yuan Venerate Xuanjing felt that the best solution to this problem was to give up on helping the Nantuo City Lord. After all, they had to weigh the two difficulties and eliminate the tougher one.

Even though the Nantuo City Lord was proficient, going against the Taixu Sect just to support him in resolving this problem was still not worth it. However, what would the Yuan Venerates of the alliance think of them if they decided to give up on the Nantuo City Lord?

The sole purpose of their alliance was to provide strength by uniting in times of adversity. If the alliance was not going to do anything to assist in times of difficulty, then how did remaining in the alliance benefit them?

They might as well forget about the alliance then!

“Since everyone has voiced their concerns, why don’t we make a trip to Nantuo City right this instant? I’m not sure how to address you, but would you be willing to lead the way?” Luo Yunyang asked, looking at the short Yuan Venerate.

“My name is Qianlan, and I am more than willing to make a trip to Nantuo City with you, Yuan Monarch,” the short Yuan Venerate replied respectfully.

He had not expected Luo Yunyang to want to make a trip to Nantuo City that instant. Luo Yunyang’s efficiency in tackling the matter had earned his admiration and respect. Furthermore, he was close to the Nantuo City Lord and hence knew many details about the situation there.

Nantuo City was currently in an unstable state. Now that nobody was offering to help, that old friend of his would probably struggle to continue living, even though he would survive.

Luo Yunyang’s suggestion caught many people in the crowd by surprise. After pondering it for a moment, many of them decided to follow along. They definitely did not have the power or courage to help the Nantuo City Lord on their own, but they were certainly willing to do so with Luo Yunyang’s support.

Furthermore, even the people who were unwilling to get into a dispute with the Taixu Sect did not leave that instant for fear of being labeled as the first ones to betray the alliance.

It was very easy for a group of Yuan Venerates to make a trip to Nantuo City. Even though Yuan Venerate Rihui and Yueyao were no longer the leaders of the alliance, they did not want to lose out on a chance to contribute to the alliance either.

The sun and moon suspended high up brought Luo Yunyang and the rest into the outer parameters of Nantuo City in an instant.

Even though Nantuo City was known as a city, the territory it occupied exceeded a million miles. There were not only mountains and plains within the city but a sea as well.

Only martialists with a Yuan Venerate cultivation base would be able to build a city that was so massive. Even so, this huge city was currently not being defended by anybody.

The ship let Luo Yunyang and the rest disembark in the upper region of a divine mountain in Nantuo City.

“The Taixu Sect is currently in the middle of something. Are you a friend or a foe?” a Yuan Venerate bellowed upon seeing the massive sun-and-moon ship descend.

This person was a Taichu Yuan Venerate. He was obviously way below a Taiyi Yuan Venerate, but the way he treated the present Taiyi Yuan Venerates was lofty and arrogant.

As well-known figures amongst Shentian Taiyi Yuan Venerates, Yuan Venerate Rihui and Yuan Venerate Yueyao were always careful and they paid attention to their public image at all times. However, both of them were infuriated upon hearing the ignorant reprimand of this young fellow.

They also knew very well that this Taichu Yuan Venerate was not speaking on behalf of himself but on behalf of the Taixu Sect.

Because of the impending catastrophe, the Taixu Sect and the Dakongfan Sect were frantically increasing their total power. The Demon Venerates hidden within the small realms were also becoming increasingly restless.

If they tried to move against the Taixu Sect at a critical juncture like this, there was a high chance that they would end up getting killed by stronger powers.

“You are just a small fry trying to bark here. Scram!” Luo Yunyang’s voice bellowed just as Yuan Venerate Rihui and Yuan Venerate Yueyao started feeling slightly embarrassed.

A gust of wind instantly knocked the Taichu Yuan Venerate out of the way.

This Taichu Yuan Venerate wasn’t weak but he was just not able to resist in any way against the might of Luo Yunyang.

Before he was tossed aside by Luo Yunyang, there was a mixture of fear and anger on his face. He was angry because he was being slighted in that manner despite representing the Taixu Sect. He was also afraid because if the people coming in decided to kill him, he definitely wouldn’t stand a chance.

“Who has the audacity to declare war against the Taixu Sect!” A harsh, cold voice was heard as two figures appeared in the sky.

These two people were wearing the same robes and holding the same swords. Both of them were emitting the energy of Shentian Taiyi Yuan Venerates.

There were three tiers to the Taiyi Yuan Venerate ranking.

Even though the Xingtian Taiyi Yuan Venerate was also a Taiyi Yuan Venerate, the sky laws they had control of had only begun to take form. Even though they might be able to exert some form of pressure against a Taichu or Taishi Yuan Venerate, they were still no match for a Shentian Taiyi Yuan Venerate.

A Shentian Taiyi Yuan Venerate was in control of the core essence of the sky laws. The might of the sky laws activated by them was stronger and more powerful than that of a Xingtian Taiyi Yuan Venerate.

It could be said that a single Shentian Taiyi Yuan Venerate was able to dominate many people.

Thanks to the sudden appearance of two Shentian Taiyi Yuan Venerates who represented the Taixu Sect, it was easy to imagine the oppression currently occurring in Nantuo City.

Luo Yunyang did not recognize either one of the Shentian Taiyi Yuan Venerates. Even though the Taixu Sect was huge, the divergence amongst its divisions was even greater.

For example, there were individual sects established by each of the 12 Yuan Sages!

Since Luo Yunyang had already decided to take the alliance under his wing, he wouldn’t shrink away even if two Shentian Taiyi Yuan Venerates appeared.

“Were you just speaking about me?” Luo Yunyang asked, looking over at the two approaching Taiyi Yuan Venerates.

The two Shentian Taiyi Yuan Venerates had never expected someone with a Yuan Monarch status to be on board the flying ship. Even though they were extremely proud people as disciples of the Taixu Sect, they still maintained the same level of respect when facing a Yuan Monarch.

“Your Highness, we were referring to Yuan Venerate Rihui and Yuan Venerate Yueyao. We would definitely not dare challenge you to a battle! What is your purpose for paying a visit to this place?” the Shentian Taiyi Yuan Venerate on the left replied respectfully with some worry.

“The Taixu Sect is currently doing something in Nantuo City so we request that Your Honor returns at a later time.”

The two Shentian Taiyi Yuan Venerates felt that their words were already extremely polite.

The Yuan Monarch would leave if he were tactful enough, or they would have to get reinforcements.

Luo Yunyang knew that the attention of the alliance was on him at that moment. “Nantuo City is a part of our alliance, and I am the leader of the alliance. Why am I being denied entry?” He scoffed.

He then took a step forward toward the great hall.

The various Yuan Venerates of the alliance who were present heaved deep sighs of relief upon seeing Luo Yunyang walk toward the giant hall.

“Get lost!” Yet another voice was heard at that moment.
