The Alpha's Return

Chapter 55 - In An Instant

Lucas looked back with surprise.

"I didn't hear your foot steps.", he said. "Or your- oh wait, you don't have a heart beat. Damn it, that's why.", he said.

"Looks like I am your nemesis.", Raphael shrugged.

"You are a vampire. You ARE my nemesis. Us working together is just a matter of coincidence.", Lucas said.

"Raphael, you are here. How was the fight? Easy, or difficult?", Michael said, desperate to change the topic.

"Finally, someone who cares about me. The fight was fine, but it was irritating. But, never mind that. Do you really think that we should be chitchatting when there is a raging minotaur and a ton of werewolves standing right there, approaching us slowly?", Raphael said.

"Well, just a whole bunch of small fry. Praneeth. Are you done?", Lucas glanced over at Praneeth. In front of him, the last magical circle was fading away. Praneeth shook his hands, and opened his eyes. The magic circle in front of him shattered.

"It's done. You can take care of him with ease now.", Praneeth said.

Lucas nodded and looked at the minotaur. Next to the minotaur, all the werewolves were fully transformed, with not even a little bit of their body looking like that of a human. All of them growled as they took a step towards Lucas.

"Hush now little puppies. Where is your mama puppy?", he said with a taunting tone.

Hearing this, one of the werewolves growled as he almost pounced.

"Stop, Mark. Calm down. You should know that if you fall for something like that, you are just begging to go down under first.", a smooth voice came from behind the whole pack.

Behind all of these werewolves, a half transformed werewolf walked out. He seemed to be the alpha among them all, because everyone gave way to him, and they clearly respected him.

"So are you the one who is leading this batch of children to death?", Lucas asked the man.

"You must be Lucas. I have heard great things from you. The 1619 massacre of Rutgers was a classic. I still get chills when I read the records.", the man said.

Lucas' eyebrow raised. "I was sure to erase all records of that. Looks like you have quite the connections.", he said.

"Oh please. My great grand father was a survivor. He was lucky to barely survive, and leave a record. It was regrettable that he died because of the injuries that you gave him, but he was a mere causality in the face of great history.", the man said in a flattering tone.

"If you admire me so much, then why are you blocking my path?", Lucas said.

"Oh, you must me mistaken. It is not you that I admire so much. It is the beast inside of you that just gets my blood boiling.", the man said.

"Looks like I have got myself quite the fan.", Fenrir said with a jolly voice.

"Oh please. Shut up.", Lucas scoffed.

"I'm sorry?", the man asked.

Michael, who had come up to Lucas by now, leaned towards him. "What, you're talking to yourself now?", he asked.

"Forget it. And, why do you even bother whispering? That man can probably listen to it anyway.", Lucas said.

"Don't worry. I try my best not to eavesdrop into conversations.", the man said.

"And yet you did.", Lucas said.

"Forgive me. It was unintentional.", the man apologized.

"Alright then. Now that this is all cleared, can anyone tell me why the hell you are stalling? I mean, it is pretty clear, and I tolerated it for a while, but the conversation got quite boring. You better have a good answer, or you will start losing your precious pack members one by one.", Lucas said.

The faint smile on the man's face faded away instantly. He looked at Lucas seriously now, and he then glanced at the minotaur.

"Go crazy now. Focus on the people behind. They won't be able to beat you in physical strength.", he said.

"Wow. I never thought that I would see someone able to control the minotaur. Looks like you guys gave him the lesson that I wanted to give him. But, too bad. That won't work anymore. I had my fun, but I would rather Hades keep this bastard.", Lucas said as he stepped forward.

The moment that his foot fell on the ground, his figure distorted. The man turned his head and looked at the minotaur. The minotaur was turning his head with confusion. Behind the minotaur, Lucas reappeared.

He had a big smile in his hands, and his hands had giant claws that were huge compared to his hand. He stretched his hands, and let it rip.

The minotaur's eyes grew wide open. He fell to his knees and in front of his huge body, his head fell down.

"Impossible. How could he defeat him so quickly?", the man muttered.

"It's because you forget. I am the red wolf. Don't forget that.", Lucas' voice flew through his ears. Lucas disappeared again and reappeared next to Michael.

"I thought that you wanted to let him live? Use him against the werewolves.", Michael asked.

"He was too docile to that alpha. I didn't like it. And, he almost fell on me. Because of him, I have to walk barefoot. All of that warranted his death. He didn't even apologize.", Lucas said.

"The only one in the world who would use that as an excuse is you, and all the serial killers in the world. Yet you ask why everyone hates you.", Arthur, who was behind them, commented.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Now that their figurehead is out, why don't you start actually moving your muscles?", Lucas said.

"You are far too arrogant, Fenrir vessel. You believe that you can actually defeat us?", a werewolf next to the man in the lead said.

Lucas glanced at him with his red eyes. They glowed with a murderous gleam, and the werewolf who spoke shivered as he cowered away.

"Next time, at least be strong enough to try and back your claims.", Lucas scoffed.
