Chapter 846 First Sign of Human Settlement

Chapter 846 First Sign of Human Settlement

In a far away place, a small village was situated in the middle of a dry land. But, with careful eyes one could see that the land had a lot of agricultural fields around which were almost destroyed by the dry season.

It was very hard for one to imagine the green land which the place once used to be.

Currently, a group of people could be seen heading towards the village. These groups were riding strange Ostriches like Beasts which were pulling in a prison cell made of wood.

And, inside these cells were two haggard looking men.

To be honest, they were very familiar looking.

Yes, it was Blinken and Max.

"Is this really how this is supposed to go?" Blinken asked as he slightly turned his head towards Max.

"Then what do you suggest? Fight and kill them? Leave our only chances to find a human settlement?" Max asked helplessly.

"Shut up! You damn, Sinner!" A rider yelled angrily as he noticed Max and Blinken talking and knocked the bar of the Cell with his staff.

Blinken looked at the guy with a cold gaze but didn't say anything. To be honest, he could have beaten the s*t out of this group if he wanted to. After all, these jerks appeared out of nowhere and attacked them. There wasn't even a room to talk.

There were no language barriers in the trial to be clear about it. It was either everyone spoke the same tongue through the history or the Trial was designed in such a way. Max believed the second to be true.

So, if there was no difficulty in communicating, and yet they still couldn't, it only meant that these guys were not willing to communicate with them.

At this moment, the Prison which was being carried on wheels finally came to a stop. Both Max and Blinken too realized that they were inside a village plaza.

"Oi…that isn't what I think it is right?" Blinken asked as he slowly raised his head to look up above at the platform in front of them.

"It probably is.." Max replied with a poker face.

In front of them stood a huge platform, and by the looks of it, it seemed to be one which was used to hang people.

"Yeah, give it a good look. You two will be up there soon.." One of the people on the Ostrich-like creature let out a sneer as he looked at Blinken.

"This b*stard.." Blinking lightly whispered. But, he knew there was no use getting angry over it. This was ridiculous.

Soon, the villagers began to come out of their houses as their arrival kicked some kind of chaos into the place. And, within a few minutes, Max and Blinken were made into some Animals at the zoo.

"This really feels nasty.." Blink muttered as his face twitched a little. He could see people staring at him with curiosity, hatred, disgust. There were several kinds of different emotions. And obviously, he didn't like this.

"Just bear with it. They will probably give us a chance to speak. If not, we can make them to.." Max replied with a calm voice. He had already scanned the whole place. And, with his deductions, he easily found if there was a need for him to be scared or not.

And, honestly, he couldn't say that he was invincible here.

Yes, there were a few strong presences around whom even Max wasn't confident about defeating.

  But, so what?

He was sure that the either side would be in the same situation if put against him.

And, this would surely give him enough ground to have a conversation at least.

  "The Village Chief is here!!"

Suddenly a shout resonated among the crowd, and the next instant, everyone turned their heads, and immediately parted the way to create a path.

The Village chief was actually not an Old man. This was really against Max's expectation. He knew that being wise was always related to the number of wrinkles on one's face in the early days. But, the scene here seemed really different.

  The guy was very young.

Around the same age as Max if not two years above.

This guy had deep red hair, and a face full of smiles. Behind him were a group of elderly men steadily following behind. Most likely the other village elders.

As soon as they appeared, the people around them immediately kneeled down to them.

"What are you doing? Kneel!" The person who was looking after the cage shouted as he picked his staff, and aimed behind Blinken's knee. But, the stubborn guy acted as if he didn't even feel it.

This indeed left the man fuming in anger, and as he was about to strike again. This time with much more severity, a voice rang into his ears.

  "Just leave it be.."

The man immediately stopped as he turned his head to look at the Village Chief in a little shock, but he immediately got over it and then retreated.

The Village Chief looked at Max and Blinken with a curious smile, and slowly stepped closer towards the cage.

The guards tried to warm him, but he just waved his hand.

"You guys are really strange, my friends. Can I know which land you came from?" He asked while shifting his gaze to Max.

"We came from a far away land. But, surely I didn't expect to be ambushed and caught while being yelled at to be some sinners.." Max calmly replied.

"Y-You!! Impudent!! How dare you talk lik-" One of the guards immediately erupted in anger, but before he could even complete his sentence, the Village chief just raised his palm signaling that it was fine.

"I am really sorry for this. But, I believe that we have no option too. We are in a very troublesome situation as well. So, I hope you understand," The Village chief said with a helpless look on his face.

"Shift them into the village cell for now.." He gave the order while looking at his guards, and they immediately nodded before beginning to transport Max and Blinken away.

"What now? Do we take the opportunity to speak on our own?" Blinken asked with a smile. He was ready to go wild.

"No, we already have that. Just wait a little, that guy is going to come.." Max calmly spoke.
