The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 39

39 Chronos repulsed by fake goods

With a look of pure fascination in his eyes, Zi Han sat down on the floor opposite the miniature Chronos. The fluffball followed behind him while discreetly glaring at that stupid tin can that was meant to look like it.

It thought it was being discreet but in truth, Zi Han caught all its movements and a slight quirk appeared at the corner of his lips. Oh, he knew that this was the real Chronos but he couldn’t resist. He wanted to mess with it a little. Thus he played along with its little act.

“I am Zi Han, how about you? What should I call you?” he said looking as sincere as sunlight, whatever that means.

“Chro- hey my apologies little um..... little Chronos. See... I am small and fit in a box so little Chronos,” responded Chronos through gritted teeth.

It was resisting the urge to rush back into its storage pendant and come out with the mech then blast these fake goods with a plasma cannon. It wanted to roast this fucker to death but it couldn’t do it. Well, not here at least. There would be a witness to the crime.

Sensing its irritation Zi Han rubbed his chin with his finger wearing a meaningful look on his face like he was solving big world problems but we all know he wasn’t. He was just screwing with one of the federation’s godly mechs.

“I think the word you are looking for is tiny..... or maybe pint-sized because based on Chronos’ height and weight you are just like a tiny organism so yep.... I will call you tiny Chronos which is being very generous by the way.”

Chronos, “!!!”

‘AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!’ internally screamed Chronos almost summoning the mech from Zi Xingxi’s pendant. It didn’t have permission to do that unless it was an emergency and this was a fuckin emergency.

.....

“So what can you do? I mean you aren’t the real Chronos so... I really don’t have high expectations. You can show me what you got and I won’t judge you I promise,” said Zi Han shifting his gaze towards the lifeless tiny Chronos stiffly standing there like a cardboard box.

“What?” asked Chronos having not understood his meaning.

Zi Han pointed at the tiny Chronos and replied, “Since you are a kid’s toy what can you do? Can you dance? I always wanted to see Chronos dance. I bet he has amazing moves.”

‘Haa the audacity. I am a titan in the federation and young sir wants to reduce me into a dancing robot! Blasphemy!!!’ yelled Chronos internally but it would never say it aloud since now it was tiny Chronos.

“Oh, I.....um..... I do dance a little. I just have to return into my tiny shell..... ex-excuse me,” it said hesitating to infiltrate that cheap-looking inaccurate representation of itself. It was repulsed by the idea but who told it not to reveal its identity from the beginning?

Zi Han stifled a chuckle when he saw the fluff ball disappear into the robot and began to swing its hips stiffly and disturbingly. How many in the federation can say that they made one of the three calamities dance?

“How about singing? Can you do that as well?” he asked unable to hold back his laughter anymore.

QAQ, it missed Zi Xingxi right now. At least its master wouldn’t make it do such shameful things. Zi Xingxi was starting to look much more like paradise at this point. She was starting to look like an angel when compared to her son.

“I can’t sing but..... but I can cut your hair,” it fumbled about until it saw that Zi Han’s hair had grown a little longer, “Yes, allow me to cut your hair young sir.”

It had seen Zi Xingxi do it countless times so what could go wrong, right? What it forgot was that Zi Xingxi wouldn’t let anyone or anything cut Zi Han’s hair.

The one time he went to a barber and came back with a cool looking crew cut with a side line she was so annoyed that she wouldn’t look straight at him for days.

For the first time in his life, Zi Han was exposed to every hair tip on Starnet after his mother typed ‘how to grow long hair overnight’ into the search engines. Her request was unrealistic even in this era but that didn’t stop her.

Whether it be hair growth oils, scalp massages, which he didn’t hate by the way, hair growth supplements and DIY deep conditioning hair masks she made him try it all. Have you ever slept with your hair wrapped in cling wrap overnight to grow a few inches of hair?

Well, he did.

He couldn’t understand why his mother thought this would grow an inch of hair. Despite not understanding the logic he still did it because she said so.

Despite that being the most traumatizing two weeks of his life he still wanted a short haircut? He thought he kinda looked cool in it like Zi Feiji’s old pictures on Starnet.

Since now he was at his grandfather’s house he naively thought Zi Feiji would protect him from Zi Xingxi if he cuts his hair so he agreed. “Okay..... I want it on the shorter side,” he said before standing up to look for a pair of shears but there was no need for that.

Chronos manipulated the metal of the tiny tin can morphing its arms into a pair of sharp shears and comb before saying, “No need..... young sir please sit.”

Zi Han obediently sat down as tiny Chronos did his thing. Before Chronos could make the first cut that could have him sentenced to a lifetime of silence, Secretary K who had been asked to check on Zi Han as he had gone too quiet for a long time knocked on the door. When he was permitted to enter he only opened it a crack before he shut it in shock.

“Shit, shit, shit.....,” he murmured as he power walked back to the stairs. Oh, he knew how Zi Xingxi felt about Zi Han’s hair. This was one of her taboos and Chronos just took out that pair of shears like it was nothing. It was almost as if it was suicidal and wanted to die by Zi Xingxi’s hand.
