Chapter 30 - BLUE'S DESTINY
"You sound annoying!"
Blue quickly straightened her back and automatically brought back the previous distance between her and the mysterious man across her.
The man just chuckled and didn't seem to be offended by Blue's harsh words.
"Are you telling the truth?" The girl asked again after she regained her composure and went back to her logical self.
The man casually rested his chin on his palm and replied, "I'm telling the truth, but I don't force you to believe. You have the right to decide what to believe."
Blue fell silent again. Was it true that Kris was a liar? Blue didn't like Kris from the start, but lately, her frozen heart for the tall man gradually melted away. Kris had consistently shown her a nice attitude, and it softened her rocky heart for a bit.
But, it didn't mean that Kris had become a good person in Blue's eyes. There were still doubts stuck in her pure heart, and one of the reasons was because Kris didn't want to openly tell everything he knew to her, including her true identity.
Ah, Blue then realized that she hadn't asked that one question to the man sitting opposite her.
"You said you know who I am, right?" Asked the beautiful girl.
"Yes, I know who you are," the young man in front of her answered confidently.
Blue's heart skipped another beat as she asked, "Am I also a werewolf? I saw your form last night, but I don't seem the same as you. You have red eyes, while mine are blue. I also have never transformed into a wolf. Then, what am I?"
The relaxed expression of the man in front of Blue gradually turned solemn. "You want to know who you are?" He asked, and Blue nodded without hesitation. "Blue, you are the true leader of werewolves. Your destiny is to help werewolves conquer mankind."
The noteworthy explanation uttered by the stranger got Blue's blue eyes widened. Her heart drummed even louder, and her body began to tremble a little.
"So... I'm also a werewolf?" The girl tried to confirm with her trembling voice.
The man in front of her nodded firmly. "You are our future leader, Blue," he replied without a doubt.
Blue stared blankly at the wooden table in front of her. She had suspected that she might not be a human, but the fact that she was a werewolf still surprised her. She had never transformed into a werewolf, but her mysterious power likely related to the fact that she was a werewolf. There was no way that she was just a normal human with a superpower like that.
Blue had a deep hatred for werewolves. She certainly knew the story of how savage the creatures were in the past decades, including their savagery during the war seventeen years ago. She also still remembered Kevin's sad face whenever the man missed his parents who died because of werewolves.
Blue was sad to see Kevin sad. Blue hated those who made Kevin sad. Blue hated werewolves.
The reality was unacceptable for Blue. On one hand, she was forced to admit that she was not human, but on the other hand, she couldn't accept that she was a monster.
"What is the proof that I'm a werewolf?" Blue finally asked again. Her blue eyes were flooded with a clear liquid that could slip out of those pretty eyes at any time.
"You are the girl who appeared in our leader's dream, the blue-eyed girl who has a blue aura. Don't you have that power?" The man asked back.
Blue thought back to the time when the mysterious power appeared and tried to control her. That was right, the power had a blue aura, and she also had a pair of blue eyes.
"But, there are many girls who have blue eyes in the world," Blue once again refused to believe.
"But, you are the only one who fits the child we are looking for. Seventeen years ago, right at the time of war, a baby werewolf with blue eyes was born. Unfortunately, the baby was lost on the last day of the war. She was only one day old at that time. Didn't you live in the orphanage right after the war? You are the child of the prophecy, Blue. It's your destiny."
The tears that were held on the lids of her eyes finally flowed profusely. So, that was why there was no data on her background? That was why she didn't have a past like other children at the orphanage? It turned out that she was a werewolf baby who was accidentally rescued during the war?
Humans certainly did not suspect that she was a werewolf baby. She had a pair of blue eyes, while other werewolves had red eyes. It all made sense now, but it was still hard for Blue to grasp the reality.
"And, about why until now you haven't transformed into a werewolf, it's because your power hasn't fully developed. Your power will be at its peak after you turned seventeen. That's when you will officially become our leader to conquer mankind."
Those cruel words made Blue's body tremble even more. How could her destiny be to conquer mankind? During the nearly seventeen years she lived as a human, she felt emotions as humans do, and she also did activities like humans. So, how could she be destined to conquer humans? It was all very difficult for Blue's fragile heart to accept. Was this the reason Kris insisted on keeping everything a secret from her?
"I heard from Kris that until now your power is still unstable and you still can't control it, but you don't need to worry. I can help you to control your power."
Blue was too frantic to hear the full explanation from the man in front of her. Her ears could only catch the word "Kris."
"Actually, what is your relationship with Uncle Kris?" Blue asked after she fell silent for a long time.
"Uncle Kris?" The man couldn't hide his laugh when he heard Blue's way of calling Kris. "Why do you call him 'uncle'? I know he has officially adopted you, but I don't think you will use that word to call him."
Blue did not laugh and was still silent. She just kept staring at the man who was laughing amusedly.
Noticing Blue's sharp gaze, the man finally stopped laughing and said, "I and Kris are good friends." But, Blue didn't seem to buy the answer. The man noticed that expression, so he spoke again, "Okay, you are right, we are not friends. To be precise, the two of us are enemies."
Blue's guess was right. She could feel the bad relationship between Kris and the stranger since the first time she saw them face to face. The tension was too tense to appear between 'good friends.'
"I'm warning you, Blue," the man spoke again. "Starting today, you have to stay away from Kris. He is a traitor, worse than a liar. You have to live your destiny and forget about things that have nothing to do with that destiny."
"Why do you call him a traitor and a liar?" Blue asked again.
"Isn't the information you obtained today too much for you? I will explain about Kris next time. Don't swallow too much, or you may throw up if you force yourself," replied the man while his right hand making a weird gesture in front of his mouth.
Blue silently watched the man in front of her. She earnestly reflected on everything that happened in her life. Everything was too fast, everything was too shocking. Perhaps it was true that the information she had obtained today was so much. Her head felt like exploding if she continued to labor her brain.
"I need time," Blue finally spoke again. "I need time to decide who to trust."
The man sitting across her could only sigh at Blue's final decision. But, what else could he do? Everything must have shocked the young girl.
"Give me your phone," the man spoke again as he stretched his right hand towards the girl.
"What for?" Blue asked with an alert tone.
"I will give you my contact number. Call me when you have made up your mind."
Blue reconsidered carefully. Giving her phone number to a stranger was dangerous, and Kevin often warned her about that.
But, she was not a kid, and she could protect herself. In the end, she obeyed and gave her phone to the man in front of her.
The man accepted the phone and immediately entered his number into it. He then returned the smart object to the owner after he finished.
"Until you give me an answer, I will continue to watch over you. I'm leaving now."
The man got up and left after saying goodbye. He left Blue, who was still lamenting her upside-down world.
The girl's beautiful eyes then glanced at the cellphone that had been borrowed by the man. She turned it on, then checked the contacts the man had just saved. Above the man's contact number was written the name "Jack."
