Chapter 11: The Third Five-Emperor Coin
Chapter 11
Jian Xi got up and went to He Qingchen, wanting to take the Five Emperors' coins from around his neck.
He Qingchen held her hand. "No need. I'll get someone to take care of this little thing later, sister."
Jian Xi understood. Her brother knew who did it. She retracted her hand and sat back down across from him. "Okay."
Soon, the lobby manager knocked on the door of their private room and started bringing food.
The table was filled with all her favorite dishes. Jian Xi's eyes lit up. "Wow! Brother, you actually still remember my tastes!"
While putting food on her plate, He Qingchen chuckled, "How could I dare forget the tastes of my little princess? Eat up and see if you like the flavors."
Jian Xi picked up her chopsticks and started eating the dishes He Qingchen had put on her plate, her cheeks stuffed full.
Seeing her eat happily, He Qingchen smiled. He wasn't hungry, so he only took a few bites before putting his chopsticks down, content to just watch her eat.
Leaning back, He Qingchen rubbed the Five Emperors' coin around his neck, recalling how she was willing to use this little trinket over such a trivial matter. He couldn't help but smirk.
This Five Emperors' coin was given to him by Jian Xi the night before he left the mountain. He knew this was one of the three Five Emperors' coins she had used since learning divination.
Giving this to him, he knew what it signified.
These three Five Emperors' coins were no ordinary coins. They were one of her magic artifacts. She usually only used one or two of them, rarely needing all three unless something big was happening!
When all three coins were cast together, she would enter another state—the opening of her heavenly eye, as Xuan Yi Daoist had said!
It was as Xuan Yi Daoist said, she was born to master mysticism, and even when she didn't want to learn it, the Dao forced it upon her. Now, it seemed like only she could open the heavenly eye in the whole mysticism world!
Each of her fellow apprentices could only master one mystic art, but in just over ten years, she had completely mastered them all. He remembered that before he left, Xuan Yi Daoist no longer had anything to teach her, only able to give her the ancient texts left at Xuantian Temple for her to comprehend on her own.
The little girl really made him so proud!
After finishing their meal, Jian Xi suddenly remembered something and said to He Qingchen: "Brother, my sword can't pass security checks, so I sent it and my flute to the airport to be delivered here. I'll probably need to go pick them up at the cargo terminal the day after tomorrow." (Just go with this plot point, don't nitpick!)
At the time, she didn't know when she would find He Qingchen, so when shipping items from City Z's airport, she could only put down City B's airport address. They should arrive the day after tomorrow, so she had to go pick them up.
He Qingchen nodded. "Okay, when the cargo terminal calls you, I'll take you to pick them up."
Jian Xi glanced at the clock on the wall. It was already half past one. She reminded him, "It's getting late, shouldn't you be heading back to the company for work?"
He Qingchen didn't move, just smiled. "I'm the CEO."
Jian Xi tilted her head, confused. "I know, so?"
She didn't understand what each corporate position did, only hearing from Eldest Apprentice Brother that CEO was the position second only to Chairman, lording over all below.
As soon as He Qingchen said his grandfather was Chairman, Jian Xi instantly understood why the company was called He Corporation.
Speaking of his grandfather, Jian Xi asked, "Brother, is Grandfather well? I last saw him when you left. When Grandfather has time, please take me to visit him."
"Okay, I'll arrange it and take you to see him. But Xiao Xi will probably have to work hard then." He Qingchen said, ruffling Jian Xi's hair.
Hearing He Qingchen say this, Jian Xi frowned, swatting his hand off her head. She stared at his face for a while but still couldn't glean anything.
Seriously asking, "Brother, tell me the truth. Did something happen to Grandfather? Have you not been doing well these past few years?"
He Qingchen glanced at Jian Xi, the corner of his lips quirking up teasingly. "Our Xiao Xi can divine and calculate, why don't you divine how I've been doing these past few years?"
Jian Xi pouted. He was just teasing her, clearly knowing she couldn't divine anything about him. Even using her heavenly eye, she still couldn't see anything!
Unwilling to admit defeat, she huffed, "Hmph, it's because your fortune is too strong, protected by the Heavenly Dao! I can't divine you!"
He Qingchen just smiled. "I've been doing very well, don't worry. Grandfather did encounter some matters. You can help take a look when the time comes."
Jian Xi nodded. "Then let's not go to the mall first. Let's go see Grandfather directly." Every year when Grandfather visited the temple, he would bring her lots of tasty treats and gifts, treating her very well. He had even said several times he wanted to adopt her as his granddaughter!
Thinking of Grandfather's kind face, she couldn't sit still, wanting to go cure Grandfather right away.
He Qingchen soothed her, "No rush. I still need to arrange some things first."
In fact, from the moment she appeared, he had guessed that the person Xuan Yi Daoist said could resolve his grandfather's tribulation must be Jian Xi!
Glancing at him, Jian Xi didn't say anything more.
Soon, they arrived at the mall. He Qingchen led Jian Xi out of the car.
As soon as they got out, a whole convoy of cars behind them also stopped. Over ten men dressed uniformly in black suits and black earpieces stepped out, a conspicuous bulge visible at their waists.
Jian Xi only glanced at them before withdrawing her gaze, already guessing in her heart.
Seeing her look at the bodyguards behind them, He Qingchen gripped her hand tighter. "Let's go."
"Okay." Jian Xi responded and let him lead her into the mall.
Although it was her first time at such a big mall, Jian Xi's mind was not on shopping at all. Brother was already so skilled, easily handling ten men alone. Even Eldest Apprentice Brother and Fifth Apprentice Sister specialized in martial arts yet weren't his match. And now he had to bring so many professional bodyguards when going out, all armed at the waist...
Sigh, just what kind of days had her brother been living these past few years!
