Chapter 216: Unconscious Improvement
Chapter 216: Unconscious Improvement
[Chaos Veil] this was the upgraded version of Darkness Veil and the skill which enveloped Kaguya's body. Although Kaguya's equipment converts [Chaos] into Dark Mana, she nevertheless gains the benefit of the attribute. Providing he with more destructive power than ever before.
Adding to these were orbs that floated around her. They looked the same as Allesiah's [Shadow Spheres] only that there was a different feel to them altogether. Upon closer inspection, Zeke found out that these were just like miniature versions of [Oblivion]. Making contact with the orbs lethal as, Zeke figured that anything these touches will get absorbed while also crushing all their flesh to fit within the object.
"Well it's good to know that she did improve." Zeke said, thankful that the elite didn't just faint in the battlefield but instead became stronger.
This proved Zeke's assumption that Chaos and Darkness were somehow related. This made things even more problematic for Zeke. He thought that if there was a power related to darkness then, there was sure to be one bound to Sinclair, the goddess of light. If this was so, Zeke figured that his fight would be far from over after clearing Mythos.
But he left this thought aside for the moment. After all, he was witnessing the rebirth of Kaguya. The summoner of darkness was inevitable becoming a summoner of [Chaos] as well.
There she was, unconsciously tampering with [Chaos Energy] like it was second nature to her. This form of hers was enough for the gargoyles to stop attacking. Weary of the fact that their enemy seemed to have become stronger.
"So the only question now is, can she move or does she faint after transformation?" Zeke though to himself; watching the scene closely. His queries got answered as quickly as they were raised and fortunately, it was the former.
Kaguya began attacking right away. Releasing all the orbs at her disposal which chased the gargoyles at the same speed of their flight. The gargoyles were still fast of course and they had great maneuverability in the free sky. Yet this didn't matter much.
Kaguya activated [Multiplier], increasing the range which the orbs cold suck their enemies. Making the gargoyles fly slower and slower as they were steadily getting sucked in by the small orbs of [Oblivion].
They screamed and tried hitting Kaguya but to no avail. The female elite didn't even need to dodge as she left two orbs around her, defending her from any of the projectiles that may come.
She then followed up by gathering even more [Chaos Energy] around her. So much so that even the untrained eyes of Zeke were able to see it.
Kaguya was manifesting a weapon, one which was frequented by the samurais of old. It was an ancient weapon from her homeland. It is considered to be the sharpest of all blades due to the length of time required to craft it. The [Chaos Energy] bursted out, creating a razor-sharp wind that even placed some scratches on the gargoyles as her weapon was finally finished. A curved, single-edged blade with a circular guard and long grip to accommodate two hands Kaguya created a katana.
"So she can refine [Chaos Energy] to that extent. Interesting." Zeke looked at how sharp the weapon looked, waiting only for the execution of Kaguya that was to come.
This began with the female elite seemingly vanishing from sight. She then reappeared on the position of one [Chaos Sphere], splitting a gargoyle in two as the monster did not foresee the attack.
With this however, the other gargoyles knew what to expect. The creatures learned easily, watching their backs and waiting for Kaguya to attack them from that angle. Yet even this was futile as Kaguya simply increased the [Multiplier], focusing it on only one orb. Through this, the gargoyle targeted by her skill was unable to move much. Try as it might, it couldn't get away from her orb.
Kaguya immediately came, claiming the life of the gargoyle as it reappeared next to the orb. With her katana slicing cleanly through the body of the enemy like it was made of bread. Through both instances Zeke was able to observe that, Kaguya's katana would always appear just on top of the orb and would slice right through it. Suggesting that the katan and the [Chaos Orbs] were linked in the skill.
With another fallen ally, the gargoyles screamed in unison. They released even more projectiles this time around, finally forcing Kaguya to dodge. However, this didn't last long as Kaguya blinked two more times. Destroying the same number of creatures as the blinks she made.
This left the gargoyles with only a single move. They decided to all come down and focus on their defensive form, with the spheres not causing them harm anymore.
"Oh you're done now." Zeke commented as he saw the sky above the statued gargoyles begin to darken and, soon enough, [Oblivion] emerged.
One which was not only on the same size as the normal casts by Kaguya but also housing much more power. It began shaking the gargoyles where they stood. This alone was enough to drive some of them to a state of panic. Switching back to their flying form only to get sucked in by [Oblivion]. This left the other gargoyles with a lesson to stay as they were if they wanted to hold on to dear life.
Kaguya was already charging up an attack at that point. She made all the [Chaos Orbs] go in front of the gargoyles. She then positioned the katana in a seeming stabbing pose as all the energy concentrated at the tip of her blade.
There was an eerie silence to it all. Despite the noiseless gargoyles and the whispering [Oblivion], one would not mistake the amount of killing intent placed on Kaguya's attack.
In the blink of an eye, the elite vanished once again. Then a line of darkness appeared, piercing through the orbs one by one and smashing all the statues to pieces. Kaguya reappeared at the end of this long chain, holding on to her weapon which vanished as soon as the attack was executed.
With all the threat getting taken down, Kaguya's body finally retired. There was no reason for her body to stay on guard anymore. As such she was about to fall to the ground when Zeke suddenly appeared beside her. Catching the new leader of the elites and immediately using [Phoenix Flames] in order to heal her broken ribs.
"You probably had difficulty in breathing all throughout that fight. That's why you maximized all your movements and made sure to avoid any sort of flaws. Even though your body was acting on its own, you've put up quite a spectacular fight." Zeke said as he viewed the [Minimap] display.
"Unfortunately you didn't sweep all the monsters off the area. It seems like their scream earlier was actually a call for backup." The gamer observed how more red dots were appearing on his map. With the initials of [C.G.] on top of them. Meaning, they were also [Chaos Gargoyles].
"Now how should I deal with you?" The gamer thought to himself as he finished healing Kaguya.
"I don't want to cause too much of a fuss myself. Then again, I should make my declaration of war as clear as possible."
Zeke knew that Pier would catch up to his tracks sooner or later. If this was the case then there was no point in the hassle of trying to hide anymore. As such, he began releasing two pillars of flame.
"I need to show how weak his creatures are compared to mine." Zeke thought how it wasn't necessary for him to attack the creatures.
The gamer actually planned on using the gargoyles. Unfortunately, the creatures seemed to work on a different principle as there were no tongues of fire released on top of their shattered bodies. Thus Zeke took samples of their horns which he would examine as everyone went back to the base.
"If I can't summon you, then I'll just use the one at my disposal." Zeke said, with the pillars of flame greatly increasing in both width and height. In proportion to the monster that was to appear at that moment.
"Conjure."
Brilliant and dazzling flames rose from the ground up. Out of these came wings that stretched as far as the eye could see. These were charred, with cracks around it showing magma colored red within. The tail then followed with its tip being lit by the red flames. Then out came the claws and with this, Samael walked out, appearing just s soon as Horizon's head stuck out.
It was the first time for the dragon to be deployed after its transformation. Hence the situation was a great way for Zeke to asses just how strong the creature has gotten. Samael rode on top of the beast, wielding a lance instead of its usual sword and shield making them look like an actual pair.
"I want you to finish this as quickly as possible." Zeke commanded as Horizon made one strong flap of its wings which sent it flying. Cleaning out the shattered pieces of the gargoyles statues at the ground.
There were around fifty enemies on the sky and only two creatures on Zeke's side. Even as Horizon and Samael approached, they were already charging up their skills and, upon entering into range, both released a flame spell. One which grew larger and large, making it look like the sun was just about to rise over the whole continent.
Zeke was forced to close his eyes for a second as the area got too bright. And, as he opened them again there was nothing but a smile drawn on his face as he looked at the [Minimap.]
"Man, I think I need stronger enemies to match up against you two." Zeke commented with the sky empty of any threat as, all the gargoyles got burnt to crisp.
