Chapter 82: Grow up quickly, ZhouZhou.
Chapter 82: Grow up quickly, ZhouZhou.
When Chu Feng saw the cabinet, he grabbed Luo ZhouZhou and gave him two big kisses on the cheek, "Zhou Zhou, you are really amazing."
Luo ZhouZhou blushed bright red, and said happily, "I am indeed really good.
He put the other side of his face up again, "And this side."
When Chu Feng finished kissing the other side, he moved aside to wait for Chu Feng to see the cabinet.
Chu Feng frowned and wondered, "This cabinet is used by the military. If the passcode is wrong, it only takes three times for the contents to be destroyed automatically. He craned his neck, took two steps forward and said, "Let me see, is there a password"
Before he could finish his sentence, the scanner on top of the locker blinked green, and the door popped open with a soft bang. "Ah, the door is open." Luo ZhouZhou looked at Chu Feng in dismay.
Chu Feng was obviously startled, and when he reacted, he was surprised as well, "Did General Luo enter my information?"
"The General is so good, did he know you would come to get it?" Luo ZhouZhou asked.
Chu Feng thought for two seconds, then sighed and smiled, "He's really something."
"You're good, too. Our family is good."
"Yeah, our family is awesome."
Luo ZhouZhou looked excitedly at the locker and urged, "Take a look, let's see what's inside."
Chu Feng steadied himself and gently pulled open the pop-up door. The cabinet looked empty, except for two small silver cards lying at the bottom.
"What's this?" Luo ZhouZhou squeezed half his head out from under his arm, and asked in a low voice.
Chu Feng took out the two cards carefully and said, "Optical magnetic memory cards.
"Optical magnetic memory card, is this the evidence?"
"It should be, it has what we want recorded inside."
Luo ZhouZhou looked at the memory card in his palm and extended his finger to touch it. When his finger reached the air, he suddenly stopped moving and lifted his head slightly from side to side, and the expression on his face became strange.
"What's wrong?" Chu Feng asked, "Is something coming to mind again?"
Luo ZhouZhou didnt answer, but continued to look sideways, listening intently to something.
Chu Feng was about to ask another question when he felt his body lighten up and his whole body flew up. At the same time, the soles of his feet, the concrete floor on which the two men were standing, instantly splattered with stone chips.
A dense burst of gunfire rang out from outside the garage, and a thick cloud of smoke and dust filled the space. Outside the garage, several machine guns were spitting fire in this direction, and the sound of gunfire was non-stop.
With an arm around Chu Fengs waist, Luo ZhouZhou was moving swiftly over the garage, dodging the bullets that were flying at a dizzying speed. Luo ZhouZhou, with Chu Feng in his arms, dodged around the small garage for a while before finding space to dash out the door and leap.
His movements were so fast that people outside felt a blur, like the shadow of a bird passing by. However, this didnt attract any attention, and the machine gun continued to fire at the front. The garage had become so thick with smoke that it was hard to see, and the overhanging, half-assed roll-up door was riddled with holes.
"Stop, stop, it's okay." The leader of the group shouted.
The others stopped firing and closed their guns upward.
"Wait and pay attention when you go through them, see what they have on them, and bring it all back."
The man fanned the soot in front of him with his hand, kicked the small man next to him, and said, "Go, you go drag them out."
The little man pulled up his collar, covered his nose and mouth, squinted and headed for the garage, where the others waited outside with their guns on their shoulders.
A moment later, in the smoke-filled garage, the small man's panicked voice rang out, "Boss, there's no one alive in there."
"I know there's no one alive, I told you to drag the body out." The chief cursed impatiently.
"There are no bodies either."
"There's a limit to your fucking lies, can't they still fly on wings?"
Several people around us laughed, "You're just too cowardly to touch the corpse to let us in."
The leader was about to curse, but before his mouth opened, a scream sounded from his side, making him swallow the rest of his words. He turned around and scolded the man next to him, "You're calling for fucking mourning, aren't you?"
The man didn't respond, but looked behind him, his eyes wide as if they were about to fall out of their sockets, and his face was terrified. The others looked over at him, and all had the same look on their faces.
The leader slowly turned his head, and when he saw what was behind him, he was so horrified that he almost jumped up. Somewhere in front of him, there was a man standing quietly, looking at him with his scarlet eyes.
No, this was clearly not a man.
His eyes were blood-red, his pupils invisible, his pale face had tiny veins of blue and purple, and two long, sharp teeth stuck out of his lips.
"You are you a fucking human or a ghost?" The leader was so frightened that his voice was out of tune.
Luo ZhouZhou tilted his head and said, "Sort of a ghost.
The leader turned around and ran out of the courtyard. He had only taken a few steps when he felt a lightness in his body and was lifted up by his collar at the back of his neck, so his feet flew off the ground. Another person reflexively went to hold his feet and was also caught in the air with a scream.
Luo ZhouZhou soared onto the roof, carrying the men with one hand each and leaping forward at low altitude. Both men in his hands had their eyes tightly closed, and couldnt utter a single word as they felt the wind howling in their ears.
It seemed like minutes, maybe less, before they heard the sound of the waves.
Immediately afterwards, they felt their back collars loosen, and they fell instantly. Luo ZhouZhou stood at the edge of the cliff, watched the two men fall into the sea with a long scream, clapped his hands, and leaped back toward the garage.
The remaining people outside the garage couldn't figure out what was going on.
"Let's go." Someone shouted in horror, "Leave it, that guy's too weird, run first."
"What about the head guy and QiangZi? What about them?"
"Let's run away first, then we'll find them after we escape."
All of them had just pulled their legs up to run when they heard several shots from an unknown direction, hitting the dirt at their feet and scattering it around.
"It's an ambush, lie down."
Everyone threw themselves to the ground and held their heads.
The gunfire stopped abruptly as they moved, and didnt sound again. Some of them looked at each other as they lay on their stomachs, some crawled up tentatively, found no reaction from the others, and shouted again, "Run."
But after a few people moved their feet again, the gunshot suddenly rang out again, and a line of craters was instantly opened up in front of them.
"Don't run, don't run, all crouch down." Someone shouted, and everyone crouched down with their heads in their hands after him.
They crouched motionless, showing their eyes to check their surroundings, but there were dense trees all around them, and they had no idea where the shooter was hiding. It was quiet, and all that could be heard was the rustling of leaves in the wind and their own heavy breathing. It was clear that someone was neither killing them, nor letting them leave.
It was as if they were playing a cat-and-mouse game. At that moment, a shadow appeared on the ground in front of them. Before they had time to react, without even screaming, two more were grabbed and flew away in the air.
"Ah! The ghost is coming again." One of the men couldn't take the mental torture any longer and pulled his legs out and ran away.
"Bang!" A gunshot rang out and he fell down holding his leg, rolling over and wailing on the ground.
"Someone won't let us move, don't move." The thugs in front of him had bloodshot eyes and held their heads and ordered those around them.
"Don't move, if you don't move, the ghost will take you." The man said with a cry.
"Being taken by the ghost wont necessarily kill you, but if you run away, you will be shot dead immediately. Your choice.
Luo ZhouZhou happily ran back and forth between the cliffs and the garage, throwing the men into the sea.
After the last two were thrown overboard screaming, he clapped his hands and shouted to the bottom, "You can't go ashore here, whether you survive or not depends on whether you can swim out.
The area was full of cliffs, and there was a beach only three miles away. The group of people who had been thrown off the cliff begged for mercy as they swam forward.
Luo ZhouZhou stood on the cliff for a while longer before making the leap back to the garage. As soon as he landed, he saw Chu Feng leaning against a tree and asked lazily, "Did you have a good time?"
"Yes!"
"Come here, let me see your teeth." Chu Feng said.
Luo ZhouZhou obediently stepped forward and let him reach out and touch his teeth.
"Do you usually brush your teeth when you can? What if you get a cavity?"
Chu Feng shook the left one and found it to be quite strong.
"Ah! I haven't thought about it yet." Luo ZhouZhou got nervous and covered his tooth with his hand, "This is my baby, it's hard to grow, I can't have it decayed."
Chu Feng touched his head and said, "Usually your sharp teeth are put away, so it's not a problem."
"Who are they, and why did they chase us here?" Luo ZhouZhou put his teeth back in and his pupils returned to normal.
Chu Feng put his gun back in its holster and said, "We've come here after meeting General Luo, and the stalkers would naturally follow."
"So they were sent by Calgar? From the military?"
Chu Feng shook his head, "He didn't dare to send someone from the military, but it would be bad if he left the bodies behind. These people are just like Sky Wolf, again, Willson found them somewhere."
"Oh, is that so."
"Come on, let's go to the car and we'll see what's in here." Chu Feng pulled out the two memory cards and held them between his fingertips, shaking them at Luo ZhouZhou.
When they got to the car, they sat in the back seat, Chu Feng put the memory cards into the terminal, and a 3D screen came up. After a short wait, Luo Pei's enlarged face suddenly appeared on the screen.
"General." Luo ZhouZhou called out, unable to help himself.
On the screen, Luo Pei was adjusting the camera distance, and after doing so, he retreated to sit on the couch. The video must not have been taken long ago, because he was wearing his usual favorite burgundy robe, with an entire bookcase in the background in his study.
"Zhou Zhou, by the time you see this video, Dad will probably be in a situation where he's lost his freedom." Luo Pei spoke slowly into the camera. "Since you have access to the memory card, you are now free. Chu Feng has taken good care of you, and Dad is very happy. But it also means that you are in danger, otherwise I wouldn't have given you the memory card."
Luo Pei spoke up to here, crossing his arms on his knees and hanging his head slightly.
Luo ZhouZhou looked at him steadily, his eyes heating up. After a while, Luo Pei looked up, looked into the camera and said, "There are so many things that Daddy wants to say to you. Let's start when you were a child."
Luo ZhouZhou sat up a little bewildered when he suddenly heard him mention his childhood.
"You may have noticed something unusual about your body, or maybe not. But that's not important, what's important is that you keep what I'm about to say in your heart."
"I'll remember it well." Luo ZhouZhou said solemnly to Luo Pei on the screen.
"You were born at the end of the empire, yes, the year the empire fell. Every time I mention your birth year, it makes me feel a little bit better about the word empire. Mom and Dad were so grateful to have you in our lives. However, when you were just a month old, it was detected that you were already suffering from Sunset Face."
Luo ZhouZhou's eyes widened in surprise when he heard this, and he suddenly turned around to see Chu Feng beside him. Chu Feng took him by the shoulders and squeezed it, and said softly, "Listen first."
"Your mother and I did everything we could to treat you, but the empire would deport anyone who was found to be a Sunset Face patient. Dad was just a small administrator and couldn't protect you, so he had to sneak off to find a doctor. During that time, father went to every city in the empire, but no matter if it was a famous doctor or a witch doctor, there was nothing he could do for Sunset Face."
"When I was at the end of my rope, someone showed me the way. Apparently, there was a wise man at the border who could communicate with heaven and earth, had magical powers, and was said to be able to control Sunset Face. There was a wise man himself who had been suffering from Sunset Face for many years, but his condition had not worsened, but those who came to seek treatment had improved."
"When I heard this news, I finally saw a glimmer of hope, and was about to leave with you when I heard that that wise man, including all the Sunset Face patients he had healed, were to be expelled. Because the Holy Son of Truth had heard about this, he thought that he was possessed by a devil who was good at disguising himself, and could not stay."
Luo Pei's eyebrows tightened at this point, as if recalling the despair he felt at that time. He took a long breath before continuing.
"While I was trying to figure out what to do, I also got some good news. The place where this wise man was exiled was an island in the sea, and to get to that island, you had to leave from the port of Saisu, which was under my jurisdiction at the time."
"After waiting in torment for half a month, they were indeed transported to the town of Saisu. When I saw the group of exiles, they had been tossed all the way by the sergeants, and they werent in good shape, probably not wanting to be sent to the island only to die. Although I was selfish, they were indeed pitiful, so I secretly sent them food and drink, and your mother also collected a lot of clothes and sent them along."
"The day before they were about to go to sea, the wise man asked me if there was anything I wanted, so I told him about you. I wasn't expecting much, but he said, Bring him to me so I can see him."
Luo Pei was very unsettled at this point, and he paused, looking sideways out the window.
Chu Feng also took Luo ZhouZhou into his arms.
"The next day, I held you in my arms and hurried slowly, finally arriving before they boarded the ship"
Although the port of Saisu was small, it was the only port of departure if one wanted to go east by sea, so there were a few ships docked there. Luo Pei drove anxiously, constantly checking the time on the terminal.
"Okay, looks like we'll make it." He puffed out his chest and looked at the passenger side. There was a baby carrier on the passenger seat, in which a six- or seven-month-old infant was kicking its chubby little feet and chewing on its little fist.
When Luo Pei looked at him, he grinned, a stream of glistening saliva dripping from his mouth. Luo Pei freed a hand to pick up the handkerchief by the basket and wipe his drool, but the baby opened his mouth and bit the handkerchief with his only two incisors.
He looked at Luo Pei with his round eyes, saw his helpless face, and opened his mouth to giggle again.
"Zhou Zhou, you naughty boy," Luo Pei said.
When he finally arrived at the port, he put a light veil on his basket, lifted it up and ran down to the dock. A large wooden boat was docked on the beach, and from a distance, sailors could be seen making preparations for the boat's departure.
The ragged exiles, already lined up, were walking to the ship, surrounded by Imperial soldiers with long guns. Luo Pei stepped forward and said to the soldiers, "I am the Administrator of the Port of Saisu, and I am looking for an exile."
"Just over there, go ahead."
"Excuse me, coming through." Luo Pei hugged the baby basket to his chest and pushed his way through the crowd, scorching to the front. Suddenly, he was tapped on the shoulder and turned to see, to his surprise, that it was the wise man.
"Mr. Wise Man, I've finally, finally made it in time." Luo Pei was too excited to wipe the sweat from his forehead, and his speech was incoherent.
The wise man withdrew from the crowd and stood aside, and Luo Pei hurriedly followed him. He cradled the basket in his arms, gently lifted the veil, and said, "Sir, this is my son, Luo ZhouZhou, as you can see, an Omega.
Luo ZhouZhou squinted in the sunlight as the veil covering his face was lifted. When he got used to the light, he stared curiously at the stranger in front of him and made an oohing sound.
The wise man smiled without speaking, and just stared at him.
"Sir, you see" After a moment, Luo Pei saw the others boarding the boat, and had to interrupt to urge them.
"Dear sir, your son is really wonderful." The wise man, still looking at Luo ZhouZhou, told Luo Pei.
Luo Pei nodded quickly and said, "Yes, yes, I have always thought so."
"He is a gift from God to the world," The wise man spoke again.
Luo Pei didn't understand what this meant, but it sounded very comfortable and he nodded his head quickly. Without saying anything else, the wise man reached out a thin, dry finger and gently pressed it to Luo ZhouZhou's brow.
Although the sun was shining, his hand was cold, and Luo ZhouZhou shivered in his basket. He turned his head restlessly, trying to avoid the finger, but he couldn't. He looked Luo Pei in the eye and deflated his mouth in distress.
Just as Luo ZhouZhou was about to burst into tears, the wise man withdrew his hand and pulled out a transparent vial with a liquid-like white water in it.
He handed it to Luo Pei and said, "This is a medicine I developed. Although it can't cure Sunset Face, it can control it for twenty years. The child will be older by then, so there may be a better treatment method."
Luo Pei took it carefully, wrapped it in his handkerchief and put it in his pocket, saying gratefully, "Mr. Wise Man, what do you need me to do to repay you? As long as I can do it, I will do it."
The wise man squeezed Luo ZhouZhou's little hand again, looked at him, and said, "You don't need to repay me, the boy will do it naturally.
Luo ZhouZhou curiously went to look at the leaves on the tree above him, but was again blinded by the sunlight. His eyes blinked and he sneezed. The wise man smiled at him for a moment, then leaned down and whispered in his ear, "Grow up quickly, Zhou Zhou."
