Chapter 20: Triggering The Mechanism, Teleported? Where?
Chapter 20: Triggering The Mechanism, Teleported? Where?
Zale and I went to Aerin's room, knocked on the door, and called her; "Aerin! We have something urgent to do!", I shouted while knocking on the door.
A minute had passed before Aerin replied to us. She was sleeping so it took her a minute to respond to us.
She came out of her room.
She was wearing her nighttime sleeping attire and her waist-length blond hair was disheveled.
She was sleeping comfortably as she complained to Zale and me do not disturb to her when she was sleeping.
I didn't mind her complaining and just shove off her complaint. I told her about the mysterious cave in Dragon Mountain.
Aerin said that she is willing to join us in our expedition so we didn't waste our time and we headed to the mysterious cave in Dragon Mountain.
I cast [Gate] and a door made out of bright white light appeared. We entered the door and we are teleported to the inside of the cave.
I cast [Gate] so that we don't have to worry and exhaust our energy in hiking the mountains to reach this cave in Dragon Mountain.
After we were teleported into the inside of the mysterious cave in Dragon Mountain, we can't see anything since there is no light source inside the cave.
I cast [Light Orb] and multiple lights with the shape of a sphere appear on top of me and it started orbiting around the top of my head.
We can now see the insides of the cave so we headed to find the mechanism that I had found in my last visit to the cave.
After 2 minutes of searching for the mechanism, we finally have found it.
A magic circle can be seen on the floor which looks like something a cult uses in rituals.
A mana orb can be seen above the magic circle which needs mana to trigger the mechanism, activating the mana circle.
I transferred my mana towards the mechanism which activated the magic circle.
The magic circle started to glow with a blue light which shined throughout the whole inside of the cave.
We stepped on the magic circle and we were teleported into a place that even I haven't read in some journals written by supreme archmages.
I observed our surroundings and I found a lot of humongous trees that are at least 50 times bigger than mine.
We are currently beside a tree and even the grass is 5 times taller than me.
It felt like we have shrunk down or the place we are at normally has the size of fifty times than us.
If I'm not wrong then this place should be where giants inhabit this place.
Even though we still haven't encountered one, it does not mean that there aren't any in this world since this world is a world of magic and swords.
I wouldn't even be surprised if a God will appear in front of us. But that being said, the possibility of that occurring is very low.
I used wind magic to navigate the surroundings by sending wind towards it and returning the wind to myself again so that I will have a vision of where the wind had traveled.
I called this magic skill [Wind Navigation]. I invented this magic skill but I'm not sure if someone had already invented it themselves but at least I can go to unknown places without fearing the unknown.
"Why are our surroundings bigger than us?", Zale asks.
"It is indeed bizarre. I have never experienced something like this before.", Aerin replies.
"It is the right choice for me to ask you to accompany so that we can hasten our observation in this undiscovered place.", I say to Zale and Aerin.
"I can use my magic to protect us from any threat so you don't have to worry about dying. I rarely lose mana and I have a tremendous amount of Wisdom Stat so I can spam magic any time.", I added.
We keep heading in a straight direction for about an hour. By seeing the direction where the shadow of the tree is at then I can conclude that we are heading south.
Every 5 minutes, I touched the ground and left my mana imprint on it so that I can use the system map to locate where I left my mana imprint which avoided us from walking in circles.
We are heading to nowhere. We don't even know where our destination is!
Whatever place will lead us to is our destination.
Zale, Aerin, and I continued walking to find any settlement or villages nearby so that we can have a rest.
I can make a shelter using nature magic by making a wooden molded into a house but it is better to find living beings instead.
What makes this place even more bizarre is that we haven't encountered any living beings yet except for the plants and bacteria.
We kept on walking for 5 hours while I kept on casting [Restoration] to heal our fatigue and restore our stamina.
The sky was getting darker as the sun goes down and it is getting colder.
We were feeling chilly as every minute passes but thanks to [Environmental Adaption], I am adapted to every environment even if I'm in the sun.
I can handle any temperature but I forgot that the [Environmental Adpation] skill metamorphoses my body to allow my body to adapt to a certain environment.
So if I go to the sun then my skin will metamorphose into something that can obtain the ability of fire immunity.
And if I'm underwater then my lungs will turn into gills so that I can breathe underwater.
The only bad news is that Zale and Aerin don't have [Environmental Adaption] so they are shivering while walking and their body temperature is even dropping.
The only way to solve this problem is to invent a new fire skill. Something that produces heat and the amount of heat it releases must be controllable.
The only thing I can think of that gives off heat is... The Sun!
I gathered my mana in my hands and manipulated it to transform into the fire. I condensed the fire into a huge ball of fire while pouring all of my mana into it.
My mana kept on decreasing and the amount of mana it costs me every second is 1 million but since my mana regeneration is much higher than that so I'm not affected by it.
I kept on condensing the ball of fire until it reaches the temperature of the sun. I lifted the ball of condensed into the sky.
*Ding!*
*The host has invented a new skill. The name of the skill will be decided by the host.*
'I will name it Artificial Sun'
*The host has named the skill Artificial Sun. The system reviews the skill as Mythical Rank.*
*Ding!*
*The host has obtained the title known as Fireball Maniac. The effect of the title is that it doubles the damage of any skill that is a ball of fire.*
'I can't argue with the system because the system is not wrong about it. After observing the system, I can say that it never lies and never got anything wrong. The system is the embodiment of A.I. perfection.'
I cast [Artificial Sun] and an enormous ball of highly condensed fire appeared in the sky, providing us with heat. My mana keeps on decreasing but at least my mana is put into good use.
The [Environmental Adaption] skill got canceled since my body doesn't need to adapt to the current environment.
"Is that your new skill? You keep on surprising me every time we meet!", Zale asks.
"He is my fianc after all! He never let people around him stop from being in awe!", Aerin boasted to Zale.
"I wish I have a tenth of his talent...", Zale broods.
"You don't have to feel depressed. All people want to be as talented as I am but they never achieved it so it's best to give up on that idea and just be yourself. You already have 1 percent of my talent so you should feel happy about that.", I comfort Zale.
'I don't know how to comfort someone but is this the right way to comfort someone? It doesn't mean that if I have a high IQ then I also have a high EQ. Having a high EQ is like the hardest thing to achieve than increasing the IQ.'
"You don't have to comfort me! I will surpass you in the future!", Zale exclaims.
Zale seemed to be feeling better than before after I comforted him so looks like my EQ increased!
Who said a genius has low EQ? They must have been wrong since I have average EQ.
As the sky got darker, the moon shone up in the sky while the stars brightly twinkled.
Since it is already night time, I decided to camp for the night.
"It's getting late so we should camp here and continue our journey when it is daytime."
