The Great Thief

Chapter 1972 - Saving Points

Chapter 1972: Saving Points

The fight against Mother Shahraz tested the team’s ability to resist against Shadow type attacks. If the team all had above 400 points of Shadow resistance, then it would be simple. Of course, the team members still needed to have fast reflexes and be familiar with positioning.

Sky Moon’s instructions were clean and direct. Everyone was also expending lots of energy and effort into the fight. Even Lu Li felt it would be disrespectful to the team members if he continued to hang around Water Fairy.

He didn’t understand why they were so desperate. After all, there was still a bit of waiting time until the next match.

Lu Li and Water Fairy’s wedding was also being prepared and arranged, in game and in real life. However, there was nothing that they needed to do. After all, the Fan family had many connections and talented people who helped with it. Even within the game, they also had people to help Square Root Three.

Furthermore, the main administrator Square Root Three was also a highly capable person.

Mother Shahraz fell soon after the battle began.

Before the equipment was looted, it was fortunate that a Warlock Enhanced skill book dropped. This was a surprise to everybody.

Then, came the equipment.

Leggings of Devastation – an Epic Leather Armor for Mages.

Nadina’s Pendant of Purity – this item was quite suited to Warlocks. Seeing that other people were privately discussing about who was going to claim it, Kitty Likes Meat and Sesame Rice Ball did the same. In the end, it was Kitty Likes Meat who took the item away.

Pauldrons of the Forgotten Protector!

Another T6 item had finally dropped!

Unfortunately, this one was for Warriors, Hunters and Shamans, so there was little to no competition. Moonlight and Azure Sea Breeze talked for a little while and Moonlight ended up paying a reasonable price for it.

From then on, there was a type of curse that flowed through Dawn.

Not many people used Warrior, Shaman, Hunter items, so it would just be a disappointment if these items dropped.

Hunters and Shamans were fragile classes, even with Plate Armor, while Warriors did not have much self-sustainability. On the other hands, Paladins could heal themselves as they were fighting. This was why many newbies decided to play Paladins.

There was a second T6 item. Fortunately, it wasn’t a Warrior, Hunter, or Shaman item.

Pauldrons of the Forgotten Vanquisher!

This was a set item for Thieves, Mages and Druids.

It was as if the hornets’ nest had been tipped over. Although there were only two Thieves, both of them were guild leaders, while the plight that Mages faced when their items dropped was self-explanatory. There were only two Druids, but one was Innocent Child, who was a pro player, and the other was Hachi Chan, who had an exorbitant amount of guild points.

In the end, it was Hachi Chan who had the highest bid.

When Innocent Child stepped onto the arena, he would then be able to borrow the item from her.

After all the items were distributed, it was time for the next Boss.

“Are you guys crazy? Are you not going to rest?”

The ex-commander was stunned. When he was commanding, everyone wanted to squeeze in as much rest as they could. The difference was night and day. They were now fighting consecutive Bosses without rest, despite having been wiped multiple times.

“If we’re tired, then we’ll sub out.” Azure Sea Breeze respond harshly. “Are you tired? If you’re tired, then you can rest.”

“Not tired. Not even a bit,” Lu Li immediately said, showing that he was still able to continue.

This was already the penultimate Boss. They were already able to see Illidan in the distance. If Lu Li went out for a rest and this group of scumbags didn’t pull him back in, then his dream of dual-wielding Illidan’s Glaives wouldn’t be realised.

There was information, as well as gameplay videos of Illidan’s blades in action. All the players were excited to see this new Legendary weapon in action.

Even Mages, who couldn’t equip the Glaives wanted one just to wield in one hand.

There wasn’t only one Boss; this was the Illidari Council.

Illidan, Kael’thas and Faskey had built this group together, along with Lady Malande, Gathios the Shatterer and High Nethermancer Zerefor.

The Illidari Council was established to help Illidan manage the Black Temple and its armies. This Council was also responsible with managing the daily tasks and duties of the Black Temple. There were these main groups of soldiers within the Black Temple – Naga, Blood Elf, Trolls and Fel Orcs. These groups of soldiers were given to Gathios the Shatterer, while Zerefor was in charge of nurturing them by empowering them with magic. Lady Malande was responsible for administration, while an assassin from Kael’thas’ royal family, Veras Shadowshadow, was responsible for the Assassination unit, which was called the Crimson Sigil.

Of course, this was what it seemed to be on the surface.

However, the purpose of the Illidari Council was to keep an eye on Illidan. There were constant reports of Illidan’s movement being sent to Kael’thas.

Illidan was completely aware of Kael’thas’ actions.

Naturally, Illidan did not care for Kael’thas and what he was doing. After all, if he wanted to, he could completely destroy Kael’thas and all of his people, the Blood Elves.

However, it wasn’t yet the time. He still needed Kael’thas’ power and Kael’thas’ trust. The Illidari Council was useful for this purpose.

It was also because of this that the Council still stood strong. How would this end? Only fate itself knew.

However, their attitude towards the players were still unchanging. They knew that they needed to fight, no matter what the Council was.

Because there were more enemies on this battlefield, the team needed to have three Warriors and a high hit-rate Mage for the Tanking team.

This was because Mages did not gain aggro easily. If they missed a single hit, it was likely for them to lose aggro. Furthermore, it was not easy for them to pull the aggro back immediately. If that happened, a team wipe would soon follow.

They also needed to bring at least seven healers. Of course, they could bring more – this was going to be a long and arduous battle after all.

Sky Moon formed four small squads from the main team. Each squad was in charge of one Boss.

He arranged for the strongest and most durable Tank, along with four healers to deal with Gathios the Shatterer.

Another squad consisted of one Tank Warrior, one Thief, two Mages and one healer. The aim of this squad was to interrupt Lady Malande’s Circle of Healing and her Holy Wrath.

Normally, two Mages were used to interrupt these two spells.

This needed to be done without mistakes, otherwise, it would lead to a team wipe.

There was also a pairing of Tank and Healer as a separate squad. This squad was responsible for holding Veras Shadowshadow away from the main teams as soon as he spawned.

The hit-rate Mage was responsible for tanking High Nethermancer Zerefor for the whole battle.

This wasn’t the first multi-Boss battle. They all had prior experiences, so the key was teamwork and understanding the Bosses’ mechanics well. The combined forces of the three-guild alliance swiftly dealt with the three of them.

All of these Bosses dropped items, but the combined drops were still around the same number as one Boss.

A T6 set of Pants dropped.

Veil of Turning Leaves!

This was a Healing Druid’s Cloth Armor, and was given to Innocent Child.

Madness of the Betrayer!

Everyone was sent into a frenzy when they saw this item.

This was an endgame Accessory for the current update of the game. Not a single person wasn’t excited.

Lu Li wasn’t an exception. However, as the bidding price went up, he found himself unable to compete anymore. After all, he wanted to save up for the Glaives. He had already been saving up for a while.
