The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 559 - 559 Save your wife-1

559 Save your wife-Javier was in between the meeting. He was reading the graphs which were demonstrated on the larger screen in the pitch of the dark room. The manager was trying to make the demographic understand the new project that the Anderson group has acquired in abroad. His eyes scanned through the different projections and attentively listened to each word.

“In this manner, we would be able to reach the expectation of our customers. Our marketing team is already working with the finance team to design the best alternative. Within two days, we would be able to get hold of the two best plans for their checking and thereafter implementations.” The manager explained and Javier nodded his head.

“What about the raw material required? The customers are demanding the exclusive one which isn’t manufactured here anymore. I believe to export it, we need to get it through some wholesalers to get it a cheap price.” Javier expressed his opinion and the managers took the same into account. “We shall look into it, Sir. Please grant us four d-”

“Two. We need to meet the deadlines.” Without taking the opinion, he had given the instructions and the sweat lingered on the faces of each of the members. They couldn’t find any more reasons to deal with the man who must be a devil in disguise. It’s such a huge project, how are they supposed to gather the information and the designs within two days?

But probably because of Javier’s speedy way of dealing with his work and meeting the deadlines easily, the project had landed up in their hands.

Just when Javier was engaged to review the reports, they heard a ring. The tense and intensive environment was suddenly broken when they all stared at their boss whose phone created a disturbance.

However, Javier paid no heed to the phone call, except to pick up the phone in his hand to swipe and answer without peaking at the number as well as its location. “Hello?”

“Javier Johnson.”

The cold voice broke his stern attention. His brow frowned when the voice seemed too similar to not remember, “Why are you calling me?” There were no greetings, not even a question of identity. It wasn’t too long before he had left the dark world behind him to adopt the new lifestyle of a businessman. The memories were as sharp as his instinct. When he tried to not hang up the phone, he heard a strong laugh from the other end.

.....

“Javier...Oh my Javier Johnson, why be so cold to me? Shouldn’t you greet your enemy with respect?” Old Master Smith joked but all it sounded mockery in Javier’s ears. “Have you called me to boast about our enmity? I don’t have time for your nonsense talks.”

“Obviously you don’t have time for us anymore after all, you left the underworld to come clean and handle your mother’s business. Why would you try to be associated with us anymore? Hmm? But I don’t find many reasons to not disturb you.” Sarcasticness was filled with each word which Javier tried his best to now show his attitude.

He looked above his eyes to find his employees staring at him as they waited for him to put the phone down and continue the meeting. However, he dared not to blurt the name of the other party in front of any of them. With a single blow of his hand, he asked them to step out of the conference room, which they did within a few minutes.

He sat alone in the large room, and then his expression changed to dread and cunningness, “Old man, your grandson isn’t in good condition either. I heard he was pushed from the first floor. I feel bad for you. While your one grandson whom you seem to hate is making your life a living hell, your favorite grandson is becoming more and more dependent like you. How do you feel?”

“No need to pay attention to my family Javier Johnson. I called to congratulate you on the birth of your daughters. You are a father now.” Javier didn’t take the happiness. There was no way this old man would call him with a clear motive.

“Whom are you trying to fool with your mouth? You got the news that I and Jennifer have children after months? Why don’t you come to the main reason now?” Javier didn’t beat around the bush. As he slid more comfortably into his chair, his eyes moved to look above the ceilings and found something brewing in his mind. He couldn’t point it out but it felt amusing.

However, very soon his smile broke down upon hearing, “Instead of caring about my family, why don’t you pay attention to your own family?”

“What do you mean?” A crease formed on his forehead as he suddenly sat alarmed on his chair. His fingers rolled into a fist and then his jaw tightened as the thought poured over his head.

The other end didn’t reply immediately but all that caught his ears was laughter. A pure laugh of happiness and it didn’t take long for Javier to figure out that something was wrong. It has to do with his family. Something wasn’t correct at his end and it has to do with this old man whom he bore enmity with!

After a long pause, Javier once again asked, “Tell me, old man. What have you done?!”

“Javier Johnson, save your wife if you can this time.”

“YOU BASTARD!!!” Javier threw his fist on the conference table and it caused him to be alarmed. A storm brewed in his mind but the other party hung up at the right time...

Without wasting time, Javier stepped out of his conference room in a hurry to catch the quickest elevator and called Jennifer. The call went to the other side and after a few rings, it was picked. “Ja-”

“Where are you right now?” There was a hurry in his voice and the worry seemed too obvious to hide. His appearance had changed from the cold businessman to that of a worried husband, a mafia killer who faced reality. The thought of losing precious lives caused a ruckus in his heart.

However, to his dismay, Jennifer took his worry to be something to do with how Lisa cried with the opinion that Sierra or the butler must have informed him about her going to visit a doctor, “Oh, I came with Lisa. She was continuously crying so I decided to bring her to visit a doctor. Doctor s-”

“I asked where are you right now?! Hospital? Which hospital? Is there any guard with you? Driver?” Javier’s hurry couldn’t be calmed down when he walked to the basement towards his car. He gulped on hearing that she was out...this meant the old man was right...

Jennifer smiled when she drove the car as a sweet smile brushed her lips, “What happened? One question at one time. I’m driving back home right now. No, I didn’t bring guards as I was in a hurry. Also, I’m the one who is driving because all the drivers were on leave.”

“JENNIFER! Why the hell have you not brought the guards with you?!” he couldn’t help but yell but his attitude didn’t fit with Jenifer who appeared confused, “It’s fine, Javier. I’m heading ba-”

“Your life is in danger, Jennifer.”
