Chapter 16 - Met Her Friends
Chapter 16 - Met Her Friends
"This villa.. isn't his. I mean now it is his but earlier, it belonged to someone else." Jennifer took the statement very lightly.
She failed to see the mixed emotions that were hidden behind the faceless expressions of Ellen.
In her eyes, it was a possession belonging to someone else and Javier had just bought it from its first owner. "Yeah, I totally understand that but why waste money on a property which has no amenities?"
In her eyes, it was the wrong investment to be made but she doesn't know the kind of attachment and importance of this Island.
"Ms. Taylor, this must be something strange to you but Mr. Johnson has his own reasons. This island wasn't his in the first place but he got this from someone close to him." Jennifer brought Ellen's explanation.
Not that she likes to go in deep but her heart wasn't also entirely convinced. She was getting interested in the back history of someone's personal life when she didn't even know the person so well.
'Jennifer, you will have to shift your focus otherwise… you might get into trouble.' Making things too obvious will not work in her favor and to make herself not fall into deeper danger, Jennifer just moved her head in another direction to see the greenery and the beauty of the place from where she sat.
It was indescribable in her eyes. She thought that she might just sit here under the coldness of the tree.
Long and thick leaves of the trees were covering them so well that it made her wonder, what would it look like to have a picnic at this spot? But when she was lost in her dreams, Ellen spoke.
"Ms. Jennifer, we should leave now. Sir would be waiting for us at the place and he will be worried if we don't arrive on time."
Hearing his words, Jennifer too nodded her head in agreement. Making Javier suspicious would be the last thing on her list. But one thing that was not clear in her mind, was that there is literally no way she could escape this island on her own.
This island is fully covered with sea and water. It appears that there must be nothing available on this island. Javier brought her too much away from their states!
She needs someone's help in this otherwise it is an impossible task. On the way back, a question was raised in her mind which she asked.
"Ellen, how did we come here? I mean each corner of the island has water surrounded so.. it is impossible to come through the land."
He seemed to understand her query when he replied back "Sir has a private airplane through which he brought you here on this island. It was a long journey but the only way to protect you, Muss."
Jennifer was stunned. She was brought here through an airplane!? 'Does that guy have a private plane?' That was not only surprising but made her eyes wide as saucers.
"You aren't kidding right?" She stopped in the middle of the track and asked Ellen once again to satisfy her heart and he instantly nodded. "Why will I lie to you, Miss?"
"But I can't see any planes now. There is literally no vehicle on this distant island." She was pretty much sure that she never saw anything so big until now.
Ellen coughed and responded, "Because nothing is there at this point. All the airplanes return to their base. We do have a small chopper here for emergencies."
This made sense to her. 'At least if something has to happen to me, they have that choice.' Otherwise, she would have worried more about her health.
They both kept on walking now in the direction back to their villa. She had no idea how much time they spent in the middle of the forest but it was worth seeing the view if nothing came in her hand regarding the escaping plan.
But her hopes were still not entirely dead due to the place she hasn't visited yet. The top of the peak, where Javier declined Ellen to take her.
'Maybe there would be something which I would love to see. Who knows what he is hiding at the top.' Jennifer kept this wish in her heart and followed Ellen on the trail.
After a walk of a few more minutes, they finally arrived back at the entrance of the villa when Ellen stopped, "You go ahead, Miss. I shall take my leave."
"Alright. Thank you so much for making me explore things." She was grateful for the life-worth experience of walking in the deep forest. It was satisfying to the depth of her heart.
Moreover, what if she wasn't able to find any route to escape? At least being through a trail did give her answers to many of her questions which she was trying to look out for so long. First of all, Javier is no ordinary guy and she would have to keep this in her mind for sure.
To reply to her back, Ellen just nodded his head but didn't either smile or give her another look, which was quite annoying yet she ignored it.
Walking Inside the villa once again, she found the place quite empty. There was no one in the living room, nor the kitchen.
'Where did that monster Javier go now?' He was her kidnapper and now he is already lost? That was quite her luck but she was aware her luck isn't at her side for now.
Stepping inside, Jennifer looked at the neat and cleaned house. When she left, it was still messy but now it looks absolutely clean. 'He must have done it himself. There is no maid or butler to do it..' but thinking that Javier will do it was quite surprising.
Her eyes were looking for any figure but then the voice entered her ears from behind. "So, have you met any of your friends here?"
